Wow! What a great product. I could not believe what a confidence booster this club is. If you're searching for a driver that forgives and goes straight, Look no further. I am carrying 260-270 with this club compared to my Taylor Made Tour edition that I could not hit period. I highly suggest giving this club a test drive.

Model Reviewed: Hawkeye 9degree UST proforce 75 regular

Folks go to callwaygolfpreowned.com and see if you can find any of these in there clearance dept. I bought a nice 9 degree for 52 bucks plus 5 bucks shipping. It had a proforce 75 regular flex shaft installed. I was a little worried about the regular flex but I hit this club great. I think the high bend point and low torque of this shaft make the difference. I try to keep a smooth tempo and swing around 105 mph and the regular flex works fine. This club is solid, Forgiving as a 320 size CC head and Sounds and feels good too. I normally play a slight fade and the Hawkeye lets me hit that just fine. I was suprised at how hot the ball came off compared to the GBB. I hit the GBB firm flex along with this one at the range and there is no comparison, no ballon balls and no high weak a-- fades. This thing just rips it out there. Even at regular price on Callawaygolfpreowned its a steal. Maybe its the proforce shaft, but I love this thing.

Bought this last month (9 degree with original UL Stiff shaft) and I can't fault it. Without doubt this club gives the best in combined length and accuracy than any other driver I have tried. The club gives a more piercing flight which obviously helps into the wind. Try it!

The sound at impact of this club, on a well-struck drive, is enough to keep it it in the bag forever. The sound of the cart motor running so long between drive and second shot, well, that's not so bad either.

This club was initially my pride and joy, but confidence produces faster swing speeds and more inconsistency. With the original shaft I would easily make 280+ yard drives, but by the the 14th hole I would start fading the ball. Drove me crazy until the shaft broke at the club head (I've been told this was a common problem with the factory shaft for this club). Replaced it with a Proforce Gold 65 Shaft, and the problem only got worse. Bad news is that the shaft broke at the same place a few days ago. Broken shafts will happen with the bore-through design of the Hawkeye combined with fast swing speeds (140-160+ MPH). Both times Callaway has offered to fix the problem for free. I cannot say enough about Callaway's customer service. They also refinished my X-14 Irons for only $45, and they looked brand new when I got them back. What a company! While I am waiting on my Hawkeye I am trying the Callway C4. I will post a review in a few weeks.

I bought this on eBay and reshafted it with a Graphite Design YS-6 R-flex shaft (but my clubmaker trimmed it to be more of a softer stiff flex). It is simply now the best performing driver I have owned to date. The combination of feel, sound, forgiveness and distance have not been matched by any other driver I've played. I love that distinictive Callaway crack/"ting" sound. My recommendation: find one on eBay and reshaft it - you will blow away any other club on the market today. I can regularly hit this thing 265, and occasionally bomb some 285+ shots with this club (don't know how everyone on this site seems to hit the ball 290+ in the fairway so consistently!)

I just bought this driver to match my 3 and 5 wood, which are the best two woods/metals I've found. I hit the Taylor Made 360 OK, cut it off an inch to stiffen it up and then didn't like it any more. Previously, I used the Deep Red. I like the Hawkeyes a lot. I think Callaways fit me. I am not flexible and thickish, and the Hawkeyes really jump without a big swing. They are forgiving but provide distance. They just seem to fit my swing. Even the lower tech Steelheads worked well for me when I tried them, but they don't go as far as the Hawkeye.

Customer Service

The Callawy Preowned folks sent the club to me quickly and it was exactly as advertised.

HAVE PLAYED THIS DRIVER FOR OVER 3 YEARS NOW AND HAVE DECIDED TO PUT IN A REVIEW ABOUT IT. IT IS THE LONGEST,STRAITIST,EASIEST TO HIT I HAVE EVER HIT AND I`VE HIT THEM ALL. MAYBE THE PROLITE SHAFT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THIS.I DON`T KNOW. MY ADVICE IS BUY ONE, HANG A GOOD SHAFT ON IT AND SAVE YOUR MONEY. P.S. IF YOU CAN`T HIT THIS DRIVER, TAKE A FEW LESSONS!

Thank you Callaway for this product. No really THANK YOU!!! I have tried every driver under the sun... All the new ones. Have purchased the ERC II and was very disapointed with the terrible forgiveness. Then went to the Wilson Deep Red. Nice stick, but the setup of a head that big confused me. Whats more confusing is I bought the Cleveland Launcher 400 and that was even worse at setup. Doesnt allow for a pure swing. Cheats to much... Then I went old School bought and old Taylor Made Bubble Burner and the Hawkeye. Both are so much more appealing to hit, easier to hit and classics in my mind. The Hawkeye is much longer and very controllable. I have a terrible slice and the weight compensation rid that part of my game instantly. I love this stick. 290 to 315 consistantly straight. I do recommend a stiff shaft if you are a hard swinger and as for a balloon effect. It does get it up in the air, but play the ball proper in your stance or compensate for a low degree driver and you will have no problems. You can even hit this club off the fairway... AWSOME. Best driver ever made hands down...

My first experience with this club came on the simulator at golf smith. I was trying all of the new jumbo headed drivers - Launcher 400, R580, Cobra ss427, etc, etc. The best ball speed I could muster with any of those clubs was 155 or so. Picked up the Hawkey VFT Pro, and immediatly hit several shots between 168-172 mph with a launch angle in the 11-13 range. Feel was incredible compared to the Jumbo's too. I will post another review after a month on the course with it. Not sure how this 2000 model year driver produces more ball speed than the latest and greatest, but I don't really care!
