Purchused the new Callaway Steel Head 3 driver. This model replaces the Steel Head Plus. This is truely an amazing club. I am using the 44" Uniflex steel shaft and getting excellent distance and amazing accuracy. I must have tried every driver in the pro shop and this club beat them all. This club worked better for me then the Taylor Made 300 series drivers that you hear so much about. The pro shop where I purchused the club was kind enough to let me try out all the drivers on their out door range. The ball explodes off the face of this 275cc steel head driver, has a crisp feel and powerful PING sound when striking the ball. This club is the best I have found. Try before you buy. What''s right for me might not be for you, but do make sure you try this little baby!

I''ve had just about every driver out there. This one is by far gives the most bang for your buck. I have an 8 degree steel shaft and can fly the ball 285 everytime. The best part is the ball finds the fairway more often with the shorter (than graphite) shaft. I gave up about 10 yards but it''s worth it when you''re in the short stuff.

Customer Service

I''ve never broken one, but my friend did and they replaced it within 10 days.

This club is extremely forgiving. I am a good iron player, but I have trouble with woods on longer courses. This club is not extremely long, however, I can easily keep it on the fairway. My slice is now very controllable. I would like more distance, but the 12* loft diminishes that from the start. I am perfectly content to hit this club, and leave it to my mid to short irons to do the rest. A great club, very forgiving, and easy to hit straight.

i first got this club with steel and it was as accurate as a 3 iron. Then the shaft broke. so i put 65 gold on it and was long. That shaft broke so i wanted to improve on it. since the 65 on it was way to light i put a 75 siff on it and it is better than any driver i''ve hit. PS: then steel head plus is horible.

I''m currently using a Callaway GBB Warbird 8.5* with UST ProForce 65. Satisfied with my current club, however wanted to try Steelhead (shorter 44") for accuracy and turned out to be very good. Anyway got it real cheap as they are clearing the model. I bought a 8* Steelhead. Very satisfy and highly recommended.

I was very suprised to read the previous reviewer's poor review of this club. I really can't say enough good things about this club. While it isn't the longest club available in the market these days, I consistently hit it about 250-260 yards, down the middle. I've only been golfing about a year and I'm unable to hit any other driver as comfortably and consistently as my Steelhead.

Perhaps the steel shaft is the difference maker. I have the graphite shaft in regular flex.

Customer Service

Excellent service. Broke the shaft on my Steelhead 4+ fairway wood last month and Callaway replaced it with their new Steelhead Plus 4+.
