Cleveland HiBORE Drivers

Cleveland HiBORE Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Through the history of persimmon woods, drivers have always been round. As time progressed and technology advanced, they've grown bigger and are now made of a variety of metals, but for the most part, they've maintained the round shape. Up until now, form has dictated function... The HiBORE™ Driver has changed all that. For the first time, function is dictating form. HiBORE is truly the new shape of distance. The HiBORE is the ultimate high-launch / low-spin driver. Because of its unique crown geometry, the location of the Center of Gravity (CG)* is lower and deeper than ever before. Consequently, it produces drives that go farther and straighter from a larger portion of the clubface than any other driver in existence.

I picked on up on my annual golf trip to Myrtle Beach because my brother loved his. I was using a Sumo and liked the forgiveness but I hit the HiBore on average about 20 to 25 yards further without giving up the forgiveness. The club sounds much better as well. The HiBore has found it's home in my bag leaving the Sumo behind.

Bought off a buddy for $75. Best money ever spent on a driver. Very long and very straight, after I put a UST X-Stiff shaft in. My confidence is amazing with this driver. Easy to hit and with the new shaft, very straight and able to work the flight. Highly recommended.

I recently purchased 1 of these drivers 2nd hand for $150nz and it has made me much more consistent off of the tee. I am hitting it straighter and hit it 10 or so mtrs longer than my old Launcher 330.

I am a high school golfer who can hit the ball far, but not straight. This driver has cured all of my ailments off of the tee box. Although I lost a few yards in distance, I make up for it in accuracy. This driver allows me to hit a perfect second shot onto the green.

Well, ok, this is much more a bigger longer 3 wood than a driver but i never shoot under 100... you can't pretend i review a 7.5deg extra stiff one :)
All i have to say is that i agree with the ones who say that higher lofts are better for higher handicappers like me because with this driver i have noticed a forgiveness still not found with lower loft drivers: totally erratic shots are still ugly, but "medium" errors stay in a narrower "band" around the intended target.
The larger face also helped me to avoid pop-up or thinned shots that i sometime had teeing-off with fairway woods.
In conclusion this driver totally replaced in my bag the 3 wood which anyway i couldn't hit consistently off the ground.
At very last please forgive any errors i could have made writing this review because english is not my native language.

Not needed the Cleveland one.
Very good the one that I found at nevadabobs.co.uk where I purchased the driver

ok, first of all, at LEAST 3/4 of the reviews on this site are ridiculous. lets be real, how can a golfer who "shoots in the 70s" say this club has fixed their crazy slice? it also seems odd to me that almost every reviewer can drive the ball 300+ yards when in reality, less than 5 percent of golfers will EVER drive it 300.
ok, that being said, here is an honest, down to earth review. I was previously playing my trusty taylormade r580 that i had for 3 years. i was reading up on the hibore(2006) that was now selling brand new for around a hundred bucks so i decided to give it a shot. this club has straightened out my drives a bit but i also feel that i've given up 5-10 yards. it was a good trade-off for added consistency. there is a tingy sound at impact but i dont care what it sounds like to be honest as long as it's effective.
the bottom line is that NO DRIVER WILL EVER TAKE 10 STROKES OFF YOUR SCORES OR ADD 70 YARDS TO YOUR DRIVE!!!!!!!! but if you're looing for a little more consistency off the tee, you might want to try this one out.

well here i am again trying to find that perfect driver.i found it.i was playing with an r7 draw taylormade and out grew it due to correction of my slice which means i started drawing it.purchased and read the hipe of nike sumo2.could not control it.traded it in for the hibore and consistantly straight down the middle.lost some yards but consistancy beats yardage anytime.240 drive hibore/sumo was 250 yards but all over the place.if your looking for a straight shooter that will put you in the middle look no further than this club.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Hi-Bore 8,5

Bought the Cleveland Hi-Bore 8,5 equipped with the stnd Fujikura stiff shaft, this authumn and it has been such a disapointing experience!!
I used to hit the ball quite long with my Taylor Made XR-03, around 260, with the Hi-Bore i´m down to an average of 220. Yes it´s easy to hit straight but it leaves me with a 4 iron to the green instead of a 7-8 iron :-(
I have tried diffent balls, 2 piece instead of 3 piece balls - this doesn´t make any difference. It seems as the ball it going quire far, but then suddenly "dies" and drops allmost dead.
I have been hitting app 1000 shots with it, and nothing seems to work. My conclusion is, that this driver simply doesn´t fit me and it´s for sale right now.
