Just bought the Cobra F Speed 9 degree and used it in one round. I usually slice with most clubs but with this stiff flex shaft my drives are much straighter. My drives are about 300+ yards. The sound is LOUD but good, not that thud that some clubs have. Over all a great club, no complaints. If at all possible buy on ebay, found my club for $165. Was tested with tape covering it, basically about as new as it gets without shrink wrap.

I'm a Cobra guy, and I'm also a big slicer, so I'm always looking for that magic stick that will solve my slicin' blues. I believe this may be the one!

The Cobra F Speed has a very noticable closed face, which is disconcerting to soem, but manna from heaven to me. I hit the ball about the same distance (~250 yards) as my old Cobra 460SZ, but the banana ball is pretty much gone. I really have to hit the ball poorly to slice - just what I was looking for.

Also, this sucker is LOUD! I get a lot of looks at the driving range - it sounds like a gun shot when I hit it well.

If your drives go way right, give this club a try. Man, I love to watch drives go straight.

Since my last review of this club I had it reshafted with the Graphite Design YS 6+ and it's straighter and longer then ever. The last few rounds I was using my Cobra SS380 but today I used the F and indeed it is longer and more forgiving and accurate. Two golfers I know have both switched to the Cobra M and Fspeed drivers. One said he was getting 30 more yards.
I've been disappointed with Aldila shafts from 3 previous encounters. The Cobra F, One with a Mizuno 3 wood and another with a Cleveland 460 Launcher. I see now that Cobra is using Graphite Design shafts in their new HS9 driver. I noticed a few poor reviews for this driver. For those I suggest you try a different shaft. Although I liked the club originally, I knew from having put a GD YS6+ in my R7 that it made a difference.

2006 was the year of the driver. I'm not sure how much I spent $1500? or how many I bought 6 maybe, but finally ended up the year with this one. 12 degree. regular shaft. This is by far the best driver I have ever had and would recommend it highly. It does have a closed face, but most all of us double digit handicappers fight the slice. When I hit a bad shot with this one it is stictly operator error. This is one fine club.

Model Reviewed: Cobra F Speed 460cc NV-f Regular shaft

I am a 66 year old senior with a moderate swing speed and a 4 handicap. I found this driver to be uncontrollable with all my shots being pulled left with a draw. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get this club to produce a staright to slight draw.

Disappointed! After all the hype I sold my other Cobra driver for the F-speed. The closed face seemed very awkward and the regular shaft was much too light. Difficult to control.

Model Reviewed: Cobra F Speed 460cc 9 Aldila NVS stiff

I could not be more happy with the Cobra F Speed 460cc 9 degree c/w Aldila NVS stiff shaft. The combination of a closed club face and a good shaft match my swing perfectly. I am actually looking forward to hitting driver these days. I have been searching for a drivers for the last 3 years. My last driver was a Mizuno MP-001 460cc 10 Grafalloy blue regular shaft. I had a lot of difficulty with this driver. I have tried many demo drivers from Callaway, Taylor Made, Ping, Cleveland, etc. None has that feeling from the very first hit that this IS the driver for me. The last time that happened to me with a golf club was a Callaway VFT 3 wood. A sweet club in its own right. Great club from Cobra.

Don't expect to need it.

I was very disappointed in this stick. I had the Aldila NV S65, with 10.5. I really didn;t like anything about it, the distance the launch angle, the sound, the consistency, the feel. Everybody is different, but for me, this was a big loser. SZ400 far superior at around a third of the price (used).
