Had A chance to play a few round with the Cobra 454 Comp 9deg Stiff shaft ,I put this club in my bag it replaced my Taylormade r5 (great drive ) Why ?? you ask simple it's longer and in my humble opion that is the only reason a player should change equipment.

Model Reviewed: King Cobra 454 Comp

After Searching 4 Golf Stores, and hitting 18 different drivers, I have finally found the one that best suits me. The King Cobra 454 Comp R flex, low kick, and 9.5 degree loft is definitely a great choice for the average golfer. Don't get too caught up with what the pros play. Also, explore different shafts, lofts, and head material with a simulator like that of a clubfitter or at a Golf Galaxy (try comp vs. regular). This club reduces slicing due to being slighty closed and also is near impossible to miss (unless you hit it off the hosel). I would upgrade to a titleist is you need a stiff or xstiff shaft. Great sound and lots of pop. Has added 15-20 yards to my drives. Great club for 15+ handicap, just a wee pricey.

Model Reviewed: Cobra King Cobra 454 Comp

Introduction: About 2 1/2 years ago I set about replacing my Ping TiSi Tec. It was an amazing product but in the go-go world of golf equipment advances it had fallen behind the times. Intending to buy a Callaway or TaylorMade product as a replacement, I walked out with a Cobra SS 380 and its great Graphite Design shaft. Fast-forward to the present day and despite the marketing onslaught I have resisted temptation until...I found myself in the same store, in the same simulator, hitting another Cobra product. This time it was the Comp 454 and again it had a Graphite Design shaft. Sold! Of course, all the indoor shots in the world don't compare to the real thing. For fellow Cobra owners, let me say it's the longest thing I have ever hit - and I don't use superlatives loosely. Much longer and straighter than my SS 380 and as most reviews are wont to say, even mis-hits go a respectable distance. Ball flight is quite high - perhaps too high and this is probably due to weight distribution and the use of composite materials in the crown. If you hit a 10.5 in the SS a 9.5 might be more to your liking in the Comp if you want the exact same ball flight. However, a non-scientific type like me can conclude with reasonable confidence that a ball travels farther through the air than it does landing/bouncing on the ground, so I am happy with the launch angle etc. Impact sound is more of a softened pop than the 'tink' of a Ping or my Cobra SS. Still, there is plenty of feedback and you'll know without looking where on the large clubface you hit the ball. Club OEMs are wising up and realizing that customers want better quality shafts (especially in $300-400 clubs) and that it's worth it not to have to tinker with aftermarket shafts. The Graphite Design shaft flexes consistently despite its light weight (55 grams). This club is very draw-biased (3 deg) - so much so that it's noticeable when holding the club at address. My typical missed shot goes well to the left, so you might think this club is a mismatch, but a good swing produces a controlled, soft draw and somehow keeps blocked shots from getting to squirrelly to the right. Let's face it, as a 12-15 hdcp I'm not going to be working the ball off the tee and if that's part of your game a neutral-faced club such as a Titleist is probably a better choice. But if length off the tee and a better chance of playing from the fairway are your priorities, I can't say enough about this driver.

Customer Service

Golf USA (WV) were great. No pressure, plenty of time in the simulator with a variety of clubs, good deal at closing time.

Great club for a slicer. Sets up 2* closed or more. I won a 9* with the 45g shaft in stiff. Ball flew as high as a 9 iron-- long but HIGH. I have tried the same shaft in X- and is is what players who play a S normally should play. Or move to a 7.5* - I finally gave up and am selling it- BUT if you wnat more distance, and more height, this is the one for you. Plus GREAT sound when you hit it.

Model Reviewed: Cobra 454 Comp 10.5 Reg.

Let me start by saying that I don't work for Cobra, but if they want to pay me I take cash only. I have had this club in my bag for a couple of months now. I have to say that it is truely a bada** driver. It has a massive 454 head and huge sweet spot (41.0sq cm)that allows even mis-hits to travel a pretty good distance. It has 10.5° of loft and gives the ball a high trajectory and huge carry with tons of roll. It is also a very smooth swinging and balanced light weight composite head club. I have easily picked up 30 yards on my driving distance because of the C.O.R.(.830) which is the maximum allowed. Also added distance because I don't have that crazy slice anymore. I have been outdriving my golf buddies to their astonishment. You should see the looks they give me now. Unfortunately they all now have one. No B.S. Well, except for one who is as stubborn as my mother-in-law. But after a few beers last night I think we got him coming around now. It is true that it does help with sliceing, but a Cobra rep. told me that it has a 3° closed club face so that is why. The stock shaft is a very good one, light weight and low kick but high in torque (4.8°). I have reshafted with a Grafalloy Prolaunch Blue in regular flex, low kick and low torque (3.2°). Now I have the straightest drive!! In the last 3 rounds I have hit every fairway. I no longer have a fear when walking to the tee box. I love hitting it so much I enjoy walking up there with a huge freakin ego. I even accidently pulled it out at a par 3. My golf buddies can't recommend this club enough. For the average golfer this driver is awesome. It is a bit pricey at $400, but how much would you pay to get better results. Overall I highly recommend this club for mid to high handicappers who aren't too concerned about shot shaping and just want to hit it log and straight and have alot of fun on the golf course. Even if you don't buy it, at least demo it.

Customer Service

Excellent customer service shipped me out a lefty in two freakin days. If you're not a lefty then you don't know how hard is to get quality golf equipment.

Model Reviewed: Cobra 454 Comp 10.5 Reg

I'm just getting started in golf and have a horrible slice. I wanted to find a golf club that would aid me with this and maybe drive the ball a little further. After careful review I decided on the Cobra 454 Comp. This is a great club. Very forgiving and if you do your job right it will send the ball screaming! It has definitely helped cut down on my slice and I enjoy it much better than my Cleveland Launcher 400, Callaway C4, or Lynx PredatorII 380Ti. My freinds that have tried love it equally as well. I would highly reccomend this club to anyone with a slice or fade problem and Cobra has an excellent website.
