I've used this driver for 3 seasons and had 4 different shafts. It is great but lacking the 460cc, I am switching to a Wishon 525 this season. I hit the 7.5 degree Hicor 300+ with Pro V1s. Just an outdated club but very good!

I've had this driver for two years now and its easily still the best I've tried. I have the 11.5 degree model - also available from 7.5 up to 15 degrees, so there is a loft for everyone. If you like to work the ball then this one probably isn't for you because it really likes to go straight! -Rob -------------------- Rob Anderson Total Custom Clubs

Bought the GolfSmith HiCor Driver 11.5 degree from Bulldoggolf.com. Built with GS graphite reg flex for about $180. I had considered getting a KZG driver, but they were kind of pricey and the GS HiCor got great reviews and for much less so I decided to try it out. I have to say I am floored by how I'm hitting this club. Sets up nicely, nice blue finish, and the great "ping" sound when you make contact. Ball flight it pretty remarkable...long and straight. Let's put it this way, I had the worst slice at first, then I overcorrected and hit awful snap hooks prior to this club. Let's just say I had to try really hard to do either with this club! I think to illustrate the effect it had on my game: within a month of me starting to play with this club, on 3 different occasions with 3 different people I usually play with all said the same thing..."I've never seen you hit like this before!" Great club and for what I consider a steal!

Model Reviewed: Hi Cor 11.5 driver

My best friend bought a $300.00 Golf gear Tsumani 400cc driver and was killing it off of the tee. He was out driving by 40 to 50 yards. It was starting to get to me that he would fly right by me when before we were about even, then I decided to get a 400cc driver myself.I purchased a golfsmith Hi-Cor 11.5 degree driver and now we hit our drives about even. I even out drive him from time to time with my new Hi-Cor driver. It is by far the longest hitting driver that I've ver hit. And I didn't pay an arm and a leg either, like you might buying one of those other top name drivers,580's,983's,427's,redline. Save yourself a pile of money and get one of these drivers. I went with a 11.5 degree driver because I wanted more carry, and I get it with this driver.Take this test, take a water hose and turn it on, don't change the pressure, hold the hose level and see where the water hits the ground. Now keeping the water pressure the same without changing anything, point the hose slightly up and then watch where the water hits the ground, you will notice that it contacts the ground further out than where it was holding the hose level.I am sold on golfsmith and their products.I use a Hi-Cor GS50 stiff shaft in my driver.

Customer Service

Great club, virtually no side spin, I can hit this one longer than any other driver I have played, I had it built with True Temper TX 90 shaft, what a great combination. I outdrove my best shot on the very first drive. No matter what shaft you go with have it fitted for your wrist to floor measurement, It made a world of difference for me!

Customer Service

Best I have delt with, very friendly and helpful. Top Rate!

Model Reviewed: golfsmith HI-COR driver

Wow! This is the 5th driver I have owned in 4 years. Its the first one I've liked. Long and straight. Added 50 yards to my drives. Very easy to hit. Have gs-70 shaft at 45" with 11.5 degree head. I simply cannot believe this club. It hits longer than the taylor made 5 series. It almost feels like stealing to get such an awesome club so cheap. Having to have a fast swing speed to benefit from a Hi cor driver is crap. My swing is about 90 mph and most drives with this are 240 to 260 with the occasional freak drive being 280 to 290. Did I mention very easy to hit and very accurate. I thought the large head would be hard to get used to. It looks like a volkswagon on a stick. Sure isnt a probem though. Your supposed to keep your eye on the ball anyways. Did I say WOW!!!!

Model Reviewed: Golfsmith Hi COR Plus 9.5 Driver

I used to hit a nasty snap-hook, here and there, with my old King Cobra Titanium. Those days are no more. With the Hi-COR my drives now look like they are shot out of a cannon, exactly where I happen to aim the clubface. Hardly a turn to either the left or right. Long? It is the only driver worthy enough to retire my trusted old King Cobra. What a marvel to hit, and then watch, and listen to the ooohs and ahhhhhs. Don't waste your money on the Callaways, the Taylors, or anything else. This club is the bomb! And for less than $130!!!!!

If you're paying $500 for a Titleist or Taylor Made, you're an idiot. This club not only has all the looks and feel of the fancy name brand models but it's right up there with the longest of longest legal drivers. Not sure I've ever hit a driver that feels so solid and hot and this one. Ball flight is high but not ballooning and has the hot roll of an ERC II. Found this club very easy to work both ways but probably best when you just point and shoot. Playing with the GS-50 Stiff Hi-Cor shaft and love it. Only thing I've found somewhat hard to do is to hit the low running wind cheater - but probably just need some swing tuning to figure that out since I've never played a 400 cc head before. This club has the same 15-3-3-3 beta titanium insert face that the Titleist drivers have and like I said, it really goes. Probably not a club for the golfer who likes feedback bcoz the feel is somewhat muted (like the J-VS or L FE). Has the old "pingy" sound of the Greatest Big Bertha - something I like. Having recently played both the J-VS and the L FE I can attest that this club stands up to everything they can offer - plus it's longer. When you factor into account that you can buy and build this club for less than $125, it's almost too good to be true...

Customer Service

Golfsmith has always been stand up when it comes to customer service - Not had to deal with yet on this new stick.

I purchased the components and made this myself. Being a component club, you may not get the right combination of shaft and head the first time as I did not. I bought the Golfsmith GS-50 HiCor shaft in stiff flex and made it 44.75 inches. I was having trouble slicing and fading the club which is not my normal shot. I took .75 inches off the tip of the shaft(technically, this makes it closer to an "X" shaft, however, it feels more like a Stiff-it does not feel board like). It is now 44 inches and hits beautifully! It is hard NOT to hit this club straight. Center hits, heal hits, toe hits. They all go straight. This may not be what all golfers want, ie, they may want more control over the direction, however, for the vast majority of golfers, straight is a very good direction.

Super Driver I bought this one with 11.5 degrees and True Temper BiMatrix Shaft in regular flex. An excellent driver straight and long and good feedback. Good recommendation from Jim McLain from mclaingolf. I'm totally happy with the driver and sold my Taylor made 300 Ti and Ping Tisi Tec right away.
