Kent Sporting Goods Alpha Reaction 300/400 Drivers

Kent Sporting Goods Alpha Reaction 300/400 Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The Alpha Reaction has been the talk of numerous clubhouses this year, and is sure to be a hit with your customers. This driver comes in two volumes, 300cc and 400cc. It features Beta-Titanium face and the C.O.R. Technology- the key performance attribute, which maximizes ball speed and perimeter weighting for greater potential distance and forgiveness while conforming to USGA Rules. With an enormously deeper face that increases the size of the effective hitting area, and also helps increase ball speed, the Alpha Reaction has lower center of gravity to optimize ball trajectory and overall performance.

I have to admit I was a tad “hesitant” about this driver before I bought it. I did a ton of research (internet, reviews, and people who own one) I was fitted by Merlin @ Loft & Lie in Dartmouth N.S. I was fitted with a Proforce 65 shaft (stiff flex) 10.5 loft & 400cc. With my old Ping & TM 360 I had a wicked slice….granted some of that had to do with my swing & yes Loft & Lie help cure that. When I went to try it out & the local range I had a buddy with me who had just bought a name brand driver as well (some other store) He’s a big hitter to begin with & he was knocking them out there with his….after a bit he wanted to try my Alpha….one smack with mine & the ball was gone….he hit it at least 40 yards further with mine. Of course I had the joy of watching him kick himself for not getting an Alpha at Loft & Lie for the rest of the day. As for me…it’s like I’m a different golfer…of course I’m not whacking it out there 4 billion yards like some guys claim…but I’ve added at least….at least 20 more yards & more important….IT’S STRAIGHT!!!! Even on miss hits I don’t notice too much of a penalty. These are new drivers on the market but you can read about them in any golf magazine. Forget about that “name brand” stuff that you have to pay $650.00 just to realize the club doesn’t fit you. Why not get fitted by a professional & have the right club for you.

Customer Service

Purchased from Merlin @ Loft & Lie in Dartmouth Nova Scotia. He made sure I had everything perfectly matched to my swing….and …AND he cured a ton of my faults. Everything is so Detailed…..they go above & beyond the standard to make sure you have the right fitting club.

Had an Alpha Reaction V2 400 1* closed face, built with a 46" Harmon Tour Design FSX shaft. Its a beautiful club. The design and color mask the head size. It doesn't appear a large as other 400cc clubs at setup. The black face marks where you strike the ball, this you can rub off with your thumb or towel after each use. This is very helpful in teaching yourself to strike the ball consistantly. My Slice is now a slight fade. This is the longest straightest club I've ever used.

With the right shaft, this driver is long and straight. Lots of forgiveness - you really have to put a bad swing on it and still get decent results. More forgiving than the Cobra SS427 and Wilson Deep Red. Even though it is 400cc, it doesn't look huge. Longer than my GBB2, SMT Nemesis, 975J & JVS, and TM 320. If you want to work the ball, try the Alpha Reaction C830. If you just want to hit straight & long, this club is worth the money. I also have the V2 which works nearly the same.

I bought the 400CC 10.5 degree head. I had a local repair shop combine it with the TX90 45" Steel shart with stiff flex. What an amazing combination. Long, straight drives with amazing consistency. I gave up my Ping TISI for this because of the extra length and accuracy. This is the real deal!!

I'm a scratch player with a very quick and fast swing. I hit it a long ways. I got this stick with a UST 65-G Pro-Force Shaft (tip stiff)...very low torque. I played a 10.5 model and loved it for almost 2 years. I started hitting the ball a little too high and short lately so I looked at the club and noticed it was cracked on the sole from toe to heel about a 1/4" back from the face edge. Plus my Dad would regularly say it sounded a little weird. Well, turns out I had crushed in the face according to a local golf shop owner friend of mine I was playing with recently and sells these clubs and has seen 2 or 3 come back in similar condition in the past few years. I have done this before with knock-off's but never with a pro-line club. I'm going to replace it, because I really do love the club, but I wish they would get it right and send me something that won't cave in during a competitive round!! Play well......

Wow! Longest most accurate driver I have ever hit. I know all of you reading this are saying "I've heard this before", but all I can say is give this beauty a test drive. All the other reviews on this driver are true. I used this driver last Friday for the first time and hit almost every fairway. A definite increase in accuracy for me. I also reached distances I didn't think possible. My average distance increased 20 to 40 yards. My playing partners were pleasantly speechless. Within the past 12 months I have tried or owned the Ping Tisi Tec, TM 360, Cobra SS 427, Integra Ti, Callaway C4, Cleveland Launcher, and Titleist 975J. In my opinion, this Alpha Reaction 400cc driver from Kent Sports is simply head and shoulders above them all. Customer service is outstanding as well. Their rep called my to see how I liked the driver. While talking to him, I found out that over 30 of the contestants in the upcoming Re-Max long drive contest are using this driver. Give it a try. You will be glad you did!!!

A most impressive package and some yards longer than my PingTiSi driver. I use the True Temper Bi-Matrix Rocket shaft, regular flex. The club is long and very forgiving and the large head sits so comfortably behind the ball that it does not give the impression of massive bulk. The ball needs to be teed high and struck on the upswing. The ball appears to float off into the distance. I play off a 14 handicap and now can 'poke out a good drive about 260 yards This is the best balanced driver I have used.

I picked this driver head up from the same builder who's built all of my woods. He reccomended it highly and since the head had been hit at the range a few times (couldn't see a mark on it!) he cut me a unbelieveable deal for the head w/a Penley Tour Light Stiff shaft for $65. The first thing I noticed if the awesome forgiveness for hitting the ball off the toe or heel. I didn't lose that much distance and the ball sometimes turned back into the middle of the fairway. The second thing was reaction of hitting the sweet spot on this club. I couldn't believe how hot the ball left the clubface, feels like hitting a feather. The flight was higher than my old 11 deg driver and 50 yeards further. I've gone from a 250 average drive to an average of 275+. It takes a lot of 300 yard shots to keep my average up that high...

Was playing the L.A. City Championship tournament. One of my playing partners was outdriving me by 30+ yards. I asked him what driver he was hitting; it was the Alpha Reaction 400cc driver. He told me he gained easily 20+ yards over his previous Taylor Made 360 driver. Weeks later, I hit a demo at my range, and I was sold. This thing is not only long, but just so ACCURATE. Their stock shaft and my 9 degree head was a perfect match. I thought I would never play a big name club, but I've gone past that superficial stage now. I just want to score!

I'm 55 and getting back in to playing golf, after a long time. First I found that I didn't have either the same strength or flexibiligh. I got an instructor and he recommended I get a Titilist 975D 9 degrees. What a mistake, a $500 frustrating mistake. The wrong club for me, at my experience level. I finally decided to try the larger head drivers. I tried several brands and several shafts. They worked better, but since they only came in a high degree lofts, I found that when I finally really smashed one, it would go so high that it had very little roll. Keeping them straight wasn't easy. The fact that they all sounded like a "tin cans" wasn't good either. I finally came across the Alpha Reaction 400cc, 9 degree and WOW! This is the answer. I found it's not just for hackers like me but good golfers benefited from it, as well. Almost immediately my drive were flying much farther and the rolls were a real added benefit. My drives seem to almost always go straight, it felt like the entire face is the sweet spot. I broke 100 and shortly dropped in to the 80's. My son and son-in-law are scratch golfers. I got a demo driver, 400cc, 5 degrees, and talked them into trying it. We were all pleasantly surprised. Their drives were flying over 300+ yards, in the air, and the rolls were more then we had seen before. What really got them excited was how straight they all were. I believe this club could be the answer to many golfer's prays. It certainly was mine. I bought their irons as well and since my drives have been much more consistant and far, it seems to take a lot of the pressue off. With the extra yardage I find I have much more confidence with my irons.

Customer Service

They have answered all my questions and were very knowledgeable and accomodating
