Model Reviewed: KZG RBT 325

I purchased the RBT 325 with the stock KZG UL shaft, and really didn't like the club. My results were mixed and inconsistent from one swing to the next. I decided to get the club reshafted and trie an Accuflex Extreme 2 stiff shaft. What a huge difference! I've now regained confidence in my driver again. Despite a bad shot here and there, I fully EXPECT a good drive each and every time, and that makes all the difference. With the heavier, stiffer Accuflex shaft, I can feel the clubhead much more than I could with the KZG UL shaft, which was way too light for my swing. Distance is tremendous, and although I still battle a slice from time to time, that's on me and my hitting from the top, not the club. I really can't say enough about this combination, so if your thinking about an RBT 325 and you're a reasonably fast swinger who likes a slightly heavier club (about 80 grams) with a higher swingweight (mine is D7), keep the Accuflex Extreme 2 shaft in mind as a possible alternative. Now that I have, I wouldn't part with it for anything.

The KZG RBT can go toe to toe with any of the big name drivers currently on the market and come out on top! I've been a KZG player for 3 years now. I started out with their Power Maraging Driver (q.v.) which is a superior driver in every respect. By comparison, the RBT is not quite as accurate, somewhat more forgiving but without a doubt, the longest driver I've ever hit - and I've hit them all! Mine is shafted with a Fujikura Vista Pro - a very reliable shaft - and although I have a moderate swing speed, I can easily crank it 275 with this club. I loaned it to a player partner who is more of a big hitter and he launched it 310 on his first try. Do yourself a favor - unless you have money to burn - get a KZG RBT - you won't be dissappointed. Finally, regarding the review below by Monty - is this guy in love with himself or what?

I just had one of these built for me a couple weeks ago. I spent a ton of time shopping around and have hit with quite afew various clubs (Callaway Steelheads, Ping, Nike 400CC) and none of them hit the ball as accurate as this club. I will admit the nike is maybe had 5 yards longer on the sweet shots but where that club sprayed the ball all over the range this club keeps the shots alot straighter. My swing speed is 90-95 which is not overly fast but afew shots I have hit with this club have shocked me at the distance. Hitting 250+ drives straight into the fairway should be easy for almost anyone with this club. When I hit a shot pure with this club the ball will land about 240 out and get me another 30 yards of roll which is plenty for me to be happy. Honestly I recommend anyone thinking of getting themselves a driver that they want to feel confident shooting with and want great results should try one of these out. PS: Price I paid is in Canadian dollars.

Customer Service

Doubt I will need it, but being a custom club if you work with a good builder the CS will be A1.

This KZG RBT head is the best Forged Beta Ti I have ever used. I matched it up with a GD YS 6 and it rocks for me. I am in the fariway 75% of the time. My yardage into the greens is shorter for sure. I was a slicer, now I fade some. This is the fun time of my golf now. Give KZG components a try you will not be disapointed and save some big bucks too boot.

I just wanted to post a review on the KZG RBT 325 I have had for a couple of weeks now. My particular club is 7.5° and has Fujikura Prototype 70 shaft that has been tipped to play at the very stiff end of the stiff flex. I have now hit it at the range a number of times and have played three rounds of golf with it. The course I play regularly is 6800 yards. I'm coming from using a Titleist 975D, 7.5° with Grafalloy Prolite 35 stiff. In an average round of golf at my particular course I will use a driver 3 to 4 times, depending on the conditions, as the course is not that long. My first impression of the clubs was that it lacked the feel and workability of the 975D. In my opinion the KZG is slightly less workable than the 975D but it makes up for it in forgiveness and added distance. Off center hits fly a remarkable distance and tend not to stray far off line. The distance on centered hits is really something to witness. I'm a stratch player with a very good long game and this club has truly impressed me. My playing partners were crying foul from the first drive I hit. This club must border on illegal. I'm not going to bore you with the yardages of some of the drives I have hit but my playing partners and I were awe struck on the trajectory of the ball and the distance the ball traveled. I play a Titleist Pro V1 which I feel is a exceptional ball for players with the swing speed to take advantage of the ball's qualities. The club has a very deep face which led me to believe that controlling the trajectory of a shot would be troublesome. With a slight adjustment of the swing and tee height the club responded very well. The club is well suited for hitting low shots into the wind, which has pleasantly surprised me. Most impressive has to the distance and direction of miss hit shots. I play Mizuno MP-33's for my irons and I'm somewhat familiar (unfortunately) with the slight off center hit that goes nowhere. Even when I missed towards the heel the ball still flew a great distance and had more of a power fade trajectory, not a weak fade/slice trajectory. My usual miss is a hook. I could almost hook the ball off my 975D into my back pocket when I really caught a bad one. Not so with this club. Very forgiving, even when I tried to hook it at the range. Still delivering exceptional distance. Some of my playing partners tried the club and had limited success with this

WOW! This driver is just as hot as a Titleist 975 or Callaway VFT. I hit driver, 5 wood into a 570 Par 5. It was great. The roll is unbelievable and the feel is great. I can really pound this driver. I recommend this driver to lower shooters.
