I bought this club for next to nothing on ebay and wasn't expecting a lot. I tried it on the range a few times and quite liked it. However, I then purchased a Ben Hogan Big Ben after some great golf magazine reviews and have been using that since. I've been happy with the Big Ben, but decided to give the MD driver another go on the course just to compare it and I was truly amazed. My first couple of drives went an effortless 240 yards with a nice draw, my third went an extraordinary (for me) 260 yards. I managed to hit my longest drive yet (280 yards) on a 490 yard par 5 and hit my second shot over the back of the green. To compare, I was averaging 220-240 with the Big Ben, very occasionally up to 270 with the wind at my back. The feel of the club is good too. You hardly notice the ball coming off the face and it doesn't make the loud clunk that you get with the Big Ben. It's difficult to describe, but it just feels right. The size of the head (400cc) is just right for me and the balance of the club is good. There is a nice lamkin grip and the shaft doesn't feel too whippy (I use regular flex). I haven't used it enough to comment on build quality issues, but I'll certainly be using it more from now on. If you purchase on for less than 20 pounds, as I did, you can't go wrong.

overall, this is a nice club. it comes with a top quality shaft and grip, and the head is very deep forgiving. however, this club goes just too damn high. my drives usually carry around 240 yards, and often manage to create tiger woods style backspin because of the tremendous height which the ball has fallen from. plus, the face of the club is like a mirror, which in sunny conditions can really annoy you because the light reflects in your eye. The worst thing about this club is that it is made and assembled very cheaply, which caused the head to fall off after only a few weeks of use. I sent the club back to MD golf, and it came back 2 months later, and they had fitted it with the wrong shaft i had asked for.
