I have played this club for a year now and can honestly say that I think it's a worthwhile stick. It's not as long as some, but very accurate. It's a decent step-up at address, not to bulky! The stock shaft is good, but ditch the headcover-ugly! Hey gman- you are one arrogant guy! Hey if you're that good perhaps you should start you're own club making company, but then again Q-school failure always beckons!

first of all u really cant pay a lot of attention to a review by golfers who shoot in the 90's and 100's... I have found this club to be an excellent driver i got it at a steal and it duplicates the cobra driver and the taylormade 540xd pretty close. it is both long and forgiving, the better golfer will enjoy the feel and control

I bought this club in 2006 for 79.99 from nevada bobs. I was in the market for an affordable driver. I was also considering the TM 580XD. I'm played one season with it and I found that it is very difficult to fade the ball what so ever. I would usually end up hitting it straight as an arrow about 290 yards. This is great club for playing the fade which is what I'm usually doing. If your can find this club for really cheap and you don't want to spend more then 100 dollars then you may be in luck. Again this isn't a dream driver there are some issues which may be addressed with a custom shaft fitting.

This was the model before the 3DX which I have as well. They are closing these out now for $40, so I had to buy one. The shaft is standard at 44.5 in. which helps accuracy. It's not too difficult to shape shots; the head is 400cc. Overall, it's a great club and stacks up to the 3DX. I think the way the weight is distributed with the carbon crown helps some too. I will hit the occasional ballon with the Crosss, but not often. If you can find one of these it's a great 40 spent. (edwinwatts or golfsmith).

This driver offers exceptional value and utility. I switched over from hitting a TaylorMade 360Ti (a champions' choice a few years back) and I am content with the result. This driver is light and the flex of the shaft is just right. I can now lauch the ball even higher and further.

Customer Service

Excellent customer service.

Model Reviewed: Nickent Genex Cross driver 9.5 degree stiff

I read mostly excellent reviews from a variety of sources on the Nickent Genex Cross driver (Cross meaning a cross between titanium and graphite head materials -- 400 cc volume) and I found a clearance price ($49) at www.iwantgolf.com. At that price, I thought it would be worth a try considering the good reviews. I have played and practiced with the Genex Cross several times now, and I would say that it is a competent driver, but not exceptional. It performs well when drives are hit on the sweet spot (good distance and accuracy), but it doesn't seem to be extremely forgiving, because off-center hits feel somewhat "dead" with significant loss in distance. Other drivers I've used (Zevo Compressor, Integra P2G) are much more forgiving with less distance loss on off-center hits. The Genex Cross driver is a good looking club, the quality appears to be top-notch, and the Nickent grip has a nice, soft, tacky feel to it. Again, this driver is not exceptional, but competent, and probably worth the clearance prices that are now available.

I have no experience with Nickent customer service.

I got this driver just this year after looking around with a tight budget. I just blew a couple of hundred dollars on a set of Taylormade RAC HT irons. I was a bit skeptical at first with this driver which was selling for $149 CDN. The sales person got me to try the demo for a week and it blew me away. I got the club only after two days. I had it reshafted with a Graffaloy Pro launch Blue 55 gm. Reg. couple that with the carbon crown and voila, you have an ultralight driver that explodes with distance. I never thought that I would replace my Callaway Steelhead for this cheapo but it really works and looks cool too. One thing though is that the head cover is horrible looking but that can be remedied by getting an after market cover (the Stealth head cover works well with this one).

After trying a couple of the Nickent drivers, the 10.5 degree stiff shaft suited me best. I'm not a great golfer, more of an "Average Joe" if you will. And I haven't tried a bunch of different brands of clubs. With that in mind, I hit a Top Flite XL-3000 ball about 265 yards consistently with this driver. I've always hit the ball fairly straight, so I can't attest to how "forgiving" this club is. The ball flies straight and far. I've let some of my friends use this driver and they all say "Wow, this thing is LIGHT!". It really is. My 250cc driver feels like about twice the weight. Their drives went straighter than with their own 460cc drivers, but they already spent a big chunk of change on them and aren't about to switch. I got this club for $150 and while it was pretty expensive to me, I'd do the same thing again. It's that good of a club. The one thing I had to get used to was to tee up the ball a bit higher to prevent topping the ball since the head is so much larger than I was used to.

Customer Service

Haven't needed it.

This is an excellent driver. I was hitting a Cleveland 400 and was happy with it. I tried the Genex Cross using a launch monitor and was consistently 15 to 20 yards longer than my Cleveland. Even though I was somewhat skeptical, I purchased the driver and took it out to the course the next day. The distance was awesome. I have played other drivers that may be a little more forgiving, but hit this on the screws and the distance is great. Give it a try!
