Model Reviewed: Ping 8.5 ISI w/Graffaloy prolite

Ive been playing this driver for 4 years and its still the best one out of the bunch. I work as a pro and Ive tried everything any company is willing to throw at me. My Ping ISI with a 44" graffaloy prolite is the best driver Ive ever hit. Distance is very consistent and the sound inspires confidence. The contraversy over the hot face is warranted, Im surprised its not illegal. If you look at the other clubs Ive played, they are all good drivers as well, I just find myself in a groove with this driver. If you want the quality of a well established company and the technology that keeps up with the newest drivers out there, you might want to give this club a look. Best thing is, you can find it for next to nothing online. In fact, I just ordered a PingISI8.5w/BimatrixRx1

This club does not live up to it's hype. It came with the Ping 350 series shaft and it's a joke. I had it tested for stiffness and it's got more flex than a regular! So I reshafted it with a Proforce Gold 75 (a great shaft by the way) but it was not enough to save this overrated club. I have the RUD (right hand-upright-draw) driver, and it is all over the place. I'll gone back to my Biggest Big Bertha and I'm looking at the Taylor Made 580, that one sounds like a winner. I think Ping failed with this one, even though alot of peole like it, but mine is not for me.

Having tried all the latest drivers, have gone back to this VERY reliable driver, longest drive has come from this driver, 320 yards, if you want to show off that you have the latest, go ahead and waste yur money on a new driver every 6 months, but, if you want long drives, forgiving driver and cheap, get this from ebay for as low as 50 dollars.

Customer Service

There is NO BETTER customer service, playing partner's TSI shaft broke, he had a newly re-shafted, with a upgraded shaft in LESS tha 2 weeks at his door, try THAT with callaway or titlest.

Bought this Driver off Ebay after searching around and checking out my local Golf shops. Brand new this driver was worth $500. I always Draw/Hook my Driver so I decided to go with the LSS hosel config. I got it yesterday and hit a round that afternoon after trying it out on the range first. I swing fairly hard so I went also with the stiff shaft. I hit one large hook and one large slice all round. The rest were were about 260-280 down the middle. I got the 8.5* loft but still goes just as high as my old 10*. Great Driver! No regrets. Rewards me most when I don't try to kill it. Very hot face and the ball just seems to fly off it. Was playing a short narrow par 4 and just wanted to knock it out there so I just took a 75% swing at it. All I hear is "TING" and my playing parnters going "WOW". Split the fairway about 230yds out. WARNING - This club will not hit itself -If you have a bad swing this driver will not fix it. It will reward clean contact and slight mis-hits will be ok but if you slice the ball look out. This club will send the ball two fairways over. Best thing about this driver is confidence at setup and it's hot face.

I shoot in the low 90's... I've been using this gem for the last week and a half. (3 rounds) I gained approx 10-20 yards off the tee but the big thing is that with the RUD hosel I've never been that straith. I'm not afraid of narrow fairways anymore...

I will make this short.I have tried every driver out there and have some reshafted so I have tried the best shafts. This old Ping TISI driver is the best driver on this planet.I have a 8.5 degree with a UST Proforce 75 regular flex shaft and RSD hosel.Don't let your ego influence your choice of shaft flex.My swing speed is 98 and I hit this driver about 260.Sorry I can't hit it 350 yards like some of the 30 handicapers on here.Be realistic to your self because if you are not swinging around 110 you will not hit the ball 300 yards. Not the one time where you had a 30mph downwind off of an elevated tee.If you want a good driver for a good price I would try the combo listed above,if you can find one.Club is also very workable compared to alot of the monster heads these days.
