SMT Golf SHINNECOCK Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The Shinnecock features the longest club from heel to toe. This club is so easy to line up, you will wonder why you have been wasting your time with you present driver. Elegant tear drop shaped soleplate leans the weight more toward the toe for the ultimate in solid contact. This club looks fantastic, with a metallic black crown and a unique blue "eye" right in the center, that is carried through to the sole. Absoultely looks as great as it plays. Try it with the AccuFLEX Vizion or Extreme LD. You will be very glad that you did.

I used to play an Adams GT363 9*. I bought the SMT Shinnecock 7* w/ AccuFlex Icon V.2 Stiff. WOW! First time out hit longer than ever. With the Adams I was 240 carry with @25 yds roll. With the SMT I went 260 carry with 30-25 yrds roll. This was with my first time out with it and into a steady 10mph headwind. I have a 109mph swingspeed and have trouble with a push. With the SMT I can go straighter and longer. Don't waste your $'s on OEM drivers. If name brand is that important, you're probably trying to impress your friends. Quit it! Impress them with your distance and accuracy and your savy shopping. Remember, the shaft is more important than the head. I love the AcuuFlex, but the Harrison, Penley or AST would be good also. Don't skimp on the shaft! Remember, if you can go 300 yards, most holes become a chip and putt.

Customer Service

Great--I mailed my check and 2 weeks later the Driver appeared.

WOW. Very consistent club that I hit a good 30 yards longet then my prvious driver. I play this club at $(" with and Accuflex Assasain WC X shaft. I hit several drives in the 340 yard range on the course. I'm selling my Ping Driver and my Cleveland launcher and having several SMT drivers built to take their place. Stop paying for all the big name advertising and get yourself one of these drivers.

Customer Service

Fantastice. A pro club fitter with great service. He built the club for me before I had a chance to pay him.

This club is amazing. I got a 9* with Accuflex Vizon stiff shaft. This club sends the ball off like a rocket with a wonderful trajectory. I am regularly driving the ball 280-300 approx 30yds further than my last driver. The SMT line is destined to become one of the premier drivers in the future. Get one now

Model Reviewed: SMT - Baltusrol 8.5 Degree

I'm a competitive amature golfer and have recently started trying some long drive equipment to break up the boredom on the practice tee. I purchased a SMT Baltusrol 8.5 Driver Head and shafted it with an Accuflex Vision Stiff Flex Shaft. This club never leaves my bag now....It's the longest most accurate driver I have ever owned - Period. I believe any level of golfer would enjoy playing this club.

Customer Service

I recieved the Accuflex Vision Shaft very quickly, but the SMT Head took alittle longer to recieve (about 3 weeks).

Purchased a Shinnecock on eBay and had it reshafted with a UST PF65 X-flex. I originally search for one of these on recs from Ham and Egg message board. There is a lot of hype about these drivers and it is all true. I have the 10 degree model with a 45 inch shaft. I consistently hit it over 275. My two biggest drives with this driver was a 310 yard drive into a 5 mph head wind on a flat hole and a 380 yard drive slightly downhill with no wind. You will not be disappointed when you hit this driver. It does make a really loud crack, but not unlike the Ping ISI. Three players that I have met on the range have bought this driver after hitting mine. For $69 a head this is a steal and I assume that price won't last long.

Having this head to play is an accident. Actually, my order from Titaniumwoods.com was failed; they took my money and run. Anyway, my friend has it in with the wrong loft. He ordered the 7 degree but he got the 4 degree which he couldnot hit. Then the head was passed to me with the Accuflex Vizion Regular. I asssemble the club by myself to my spec of 45.5 inches, D3, 1 inch tip trim. My first hit went right to the fence. The club feel really great, the head is so stable, the shaft is really kick and feel really good. I am a clubmaker, so imagine how many clubs I have tested. I thought the golfsmith and the Bang were good. The Shinnecock with the Vizion is better, at least it is best to me who can break the 300 yards. The lowest loft of 4 degree brings no problem to the ball flight and direction. The ball penatrates through the air like bullet. Launch angle can be controlled from 10-12 degree depending on the set up and tee height. Distance is not to joke about. A serious 300 yards is not difficult to acheive anymore, as the club so forgiving, very big sweet spot. I think the 5 or 6 degree would be the best for me to play on regular courses; this 4 degree wll be kept for the long drive contest. Try it.

Heard of these heads at Ham n Egg message board, where they gave SMT uniformly glowing reviews. I have to agree. This is a fine driver, excellent finish, and consistently good results. I have the 10 degree model, and at first hit very high drives that seemed to go forever. After a few weeks of using the Shinnecock, I've learned not to tee it up quite as high as I had been, and have had a lower ball flight--still very long. The head does seem to set up a little closed, but not a problem for me. Gives me a little confidence that I won't slice it. This is a very forgiving club. You can hit all over the clubface and still get good results. You will have to get used to the loud CLINK it makes, but isn't as loud as the new Ping driver. I put a Rapport R flex, filament wound shaft in it, and it has been a good fit for me. Overall I'm very pleased and feel this head could be used by virtually anyone from single digit handicappers to high 90's shooters.

Customer Service

Excellent service over the phone and quick delivery. Couldn't ask for better.
