Snake Eyes 650T Drivers

Snake Eyes 650T Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The new 650T driver heads. The face is a newly developed beta titanium alloy.A special Reactive Cup Face construction of the 650T may revolutionize driver design. More thickness in the lower half of the face (3.1mm) and then a slight step thinner at the upper portion of the face (2.6mm) allows the face to flex more when contacted above the center. This maximizes the C.O.R./CT and increases initial ball velocity and launch angle while decreasing backspin.

I have had this driver for a few months now. Has the Penley P2 (90 gram) Hits as long as any driver I have used. Nice setup. (not to big looking) Workable, for a large head driver. (430cc) I like the face height, (60mm) It allows for different tee heights. IMO, as good as any driver on the market. Proper fitting is the key, to a good driver. Was $110, now $50 on closeout. (head only)

Model Reviewed: Snake Eyes 650T

I just assembled the Snake Eyes 650T head in 9.5 deg with a regular flex UST Proforce V2 shaft. I bought it as a combo deal from Golfsmith for about $150. Looks: The head has a really nice black paint job. I don't really care for the space on painted on the leading edge. I guess for some this may save them if they ever have a possible skymark. The shape of the head of OK. It's a little deep faced for me. You really have to tee it up high. Even though the head is 430 cc's it does not look that big. It looks like most 400 cc heads. The new V2 shaft is really sharp. UST replace the tacky yellow and purple with a nice looking gold and black. Perfomance: The head has a different sound. Not bad, just different. It's not a solid sound at all. The combination of this head and shaft gave very good distance. Was it the longest club I have hit? No. But it hits longer than most. Recommedaton: The Cleveland Launcher 460 with the ProLaunch shaft is the ticket. For the money, I'd buy the Cleveland Launcher every time. It's easily 15 yds longer for me. Right now it's $199. If you must buy a component head, try a SMT Nemesis or 455. They are much better heads for the same amount of money. Overall the Snake Eyes 650T is just average. It is better than the Compressor 450, which I did not like at all.
