Purchased 510 with proforce 75 stiff shaft and 8.5 loft in like new condition on ebay. By far this is the easiest driver to hit straight that I have ever owned. Also the longest. The ball goes out fairly flat but stays in the air forever. The only problem I have had is that the face caved in on mine and I was worried about getting the club replaced. My worries were unfounded though as a local TM retailer simply looked at it and handed me another one off the rack. Didn't like the stock MAS75 shaft though and replaced it with another proforce 75. As long as the face holds up or the retailer is willing to replace it if it doesn't, I'll keep using this driver. Has anyone else had a problem with the face cupping? P.S. I've also demoed the Titleist 983 E and K drivers. Those clubs are tremendous also but I like the 510 a little better.

Great club! Fade, draw, or straight ahead. 8.5 fires the ball out low, to 270-290. I've jumped on it a few times and hit fades 300. But I have fewer bad shots with this club. The club sets up strong! You can just swing!

Awesome club, I used the Great Big Bertha for years and switched last year to the 975J. The 510 I just purchased after demoing it is just incredible. I have the stock stiff shaft which feels good. Its extremely solid and long. I really like the way the club sets up. Perfectly square, unlike a lot of other drivers. I also demoed the Titleist 983K, but I think this club is more solid and has a better feel for me. I'm hitting it about 270-280 consistently.

This is a great driver. I have been having problems getting a driver I liked for years now. I've owned every driver in the Callaway line over the last 4 years and I finally made the switch to TM. I'm very happy with the 510 driver in both feel and consistency. I found that the ball leaked to the right when I went after it with the standard mas 75 shaft so, I upgraded to the YS-7 X flex shaft and now the ball holds it's line. Give it a try.

Customer Service

Great. I ran into a problem with the shaft upgrade so, they didn't charge me for the shaft, grip, or labor.

I don't know what the other golfer was trying but one thing about this club is the work-ability! Hit it far and with a nice draw...want to fade it know problem!! Like the size of the head...sets up nice and gives you nice boring trajectory!!! can see why it is so popular on the tour! I also play the 200 series fairway woods!!! Top Notch clubs!!

Model Reviewed: 510 8.5 Loft

I have played most of the major equipment vendors, and have always seemed to settle back on Taylormade woods. I have the 510 with 8.5 degrees of loft and the stock (MAS 75) shaft, stiff flex. As for the previous poster, who claimed he thought the club "tended to fade" and he "couldn't hit my normal draw"...hogwash. I laid off playing golf for 2 years, and when I started playing again, actually thought the same thing until I realized my tempo was too quick, and after slowing it down a tad, I have found I can hit fades, draws, and straight down the middle with this club with no problem! I only thing I don't like about this club is that the shaft probably isn't the best offering. I will probably get a new one put in at some point. This driver will give you all the distance your swing can handle...normal drive for me is in the 280 range. When my tempo gets too quick I generally start fading the ball, and way too quick is a slice. I did "go after one" a couple of days ago, and hit a drive 325 yards...the distance is there...no doubts on that one. 4 stars on quality...I think they could do a better job on shaft offering.

I've demo'd 2 different 510s lately, a 9.5 and 8.5 degree. Both have had the Taylor Made S Flex shaft (Can't remember TM's name for it). I currently play a 9.5 degree Burner, which in relative terms is ancient technology. In test driving the 8.5 degree, I found that I truly couldn't control it as well as the 9.5 degree model. I found both clubs tended to favor a fade to slice tragectory. Launch responsiveness off the face of the club was quick and the sound was not nearly as hollow and tinny as some others I have tested (notably Callaway GBBII). Average driving distances were about 25 yards better than my old Burner. My main issue with the 510 was workability. I did not feel that I could work the ball very well in shaping shots. Specifically, I found it difficult to find my natural draw with this club. Most shots with the 9.5 degree loft were straight to slight fades. Overall, I give this club average marks and strongly recommend trying as many other drivers as you can before deciding on the 510.

Im 15 and must say that this is by far the best driver I have played. Hit on a good shot 300 yards. Very low tragectory that suits my swing.Changed the shaft to a TT bimatrix Rxi. Absolutely superb, must go and buy one.
