I just bought the TM R7 460 and it is awesome. I had been away from the game for a while. A shoulder injury caused a long layoff, then when I came back, all my distance was gone and the game was no fun. A freind introduced me to this driver. I bought my own and took it to the range. After a few nervous mis-hits (and fear that I had just wasted some money), I started hitting it great. I was consitently hitting the ball 250-275 yds, straight. I took it from the range to the cousre where I hit it long and hit 10 fairways. I was able to reach 3 of the par 5s in two and was usually no more that a PW out on the par 4s. Bottom line -this club is wonderful and has gotten me excited about golf again!

The stock Reax shaft is a great shaft, contrary to what other people have said in this forum. It does launch the ball high, but I also think that many people tee the ball too high due to stiff shafts in drivers (the stiff shaft makes the ball launch low). A buddy I play with has a 135 mph swing and not only knocks the crap out of this driver, but also keeps it in the fairway. And this is not because the senior flex plays like a regular. Each flex of the reax shafts play like they're supposed to while still maintaining relatively low torque.

I also believe that the head on the r7 is splendid. The main reason I came out searching for this driver is because I was tired of the melon-head Cobras--they had no sweet spot. This driver clearly has a sweet spot, however is also very forgiving and long.

Customer Service

I don't know, but I had to pay for the weight wrench, which was pretty annoying.

Similar Products Used:

Cobra 454 comp (long but closed face was tough to deal with and no sweet spot), Nike Ignite (head seemed dead), Nike SQ Sumo tour (good driver with the Diamana in it), Callaway ft-i (too tinny), Taylormade 425 (good driver, very long, however closed face made it unplayable for me)

Good driver but room for improvement. First of all, I hate the screw idea. It makes the club very ugly and especially on this driver, the screw areas protrude and some people have complained of it grazing the floor. The sound is like a tin can-- loud and cheap. I had problems hitting it straight with this driver, probably my swing. I really wanted this driver to work and spent alot of dough upgrading the shaft. In the end I traded it in for a Ping.

Hi guys,

I understood that slice or fade does not really caused by the driver you are using, down to the basic it is all depending on your swing speed (eager to hit further, resulting in hard and inconsistency swings) and correct release of your clubhead.

Always read reviews of any golf equipment on golfreviw.com. I have been doing this for the past 2 years and have been 100% satisfied with my purchases.

Now onto the Taylor Made R7 driver.

I am a lefty that likes to push the ball away from my body. I thought buying this driver would draticaly change the shape of my shots. Didn't exaclty happen. But the weight system does work and it does change your shot a little bit. Since I got this driver my shots have been more accurate and the distance from the tee have been further. 15 to 20 yards.

Great driver. Not sure if I want to go with taylor made for a fairway driver. (will be my next purchase)

So far worth the money. Off the tee with this club my drives are solid.

This club didn't work for me at all. The weight placement didn't make much difference. It still was hitting the ball short with little consistancy. Back to my Callaway Fusions, and looking at the Pings

Model Reviewed: R7 460 Draw

I almost always slice or fade badly to the right and I came across this club when I was looking for an answer. I hit the club in my local golf store and immediately felt a difference. The sound was great and it had great feel. I bought the club, eager to get to an outdoor driving range to see if it fixes my slice. I have to say, I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't an immediate fix. I was still fading, but not quite so badly. Although there was an immediate difference in distance, I was consistently hitting the ball at least 30 yards further than normal. Fortunately the fade soon came right and I'm happy to say I'm even hitting a nice draw on my shots now thanks to this driver.
I would highly recommend this driver to anyone who is tired of heading to the right and wants a change. It is very forgiving on off center hits and can add yards to your drives.

The club is very pretty and sets up nice. It also sounds nice but thats where the good ends. The shaft is terrible, it feels numb and launches extrmeley high causing ballooning and loss of distance. I reshafted with aldila nv-s but didn't help. I hit my 3 wood farther and lower than this club. Sorry but i think TM missed on this one. But if you like the idea of having movable weighs then go for it, but dont expect it to go long.

I bought this driver on eBay for $130 in excellent condition with matching headcover and weight wrench. Shot a 78 the first time i used the club. Hit more than normal amount of fairways. I would recommend this club to anyone in the market for a new driver.

I had high expectations for this club unfortunately i didn't deliver. i'm not sure if its just my swing, but i lost about 25 yards compared to my taylormade r580! it felt hallow, maybe i needed to tweak the "weight technology" bad to average club overall, would not recoomend it.
