TaylorMade Supersteel Drivers

TaylorMade Supersteel Drivers

DESCRIPTION

SuperSteel is stronger than the steel traditionally used in metalwoods, enabling both the club head and sweetspot to be larger. this allows for thinner face walls that transfer more power to the ball. The result is increased velocity and a more explosive hitting area for more distance.

This is a great club for those who want straight shots and consistent distance. I am 15 years old and this isnt the top of the line technology driver and i average 300 yards with it. Just imagine how far i could hit it with a redline or an R580. If you are a beginner or just an "f" around golfer i stongly recommend this driver.

What can I say, this driver is fantastic. I am not a huge fan of the 275cc and up size becuase I would slice the ball. I love the smaller head size and provides better control for me off the tees. I increased my drive distance consistently over 25 yards. The sound is pricless off the tee when you hit the sweet spot. This driver is highly recommended for the beginner and high handicapper becuase of the forgiveness. If you have trouble hitting your current driver like I did, this club will really improve your game.

I bought this 9.5^ S90 bubbleshaft and the fairway woods when I was moving from HK back to the States. At the time, I wasn't very good at hitting the woods so my first impressions aren't very important. I started getting a good feel for my woods last summer and found that I can really smack the balls around with this driver. For a beginner (anyone over 120), the 250 maybe a little had to hit if you don't have a smooth swing. Actually, this club rewards smooth flowing swings and launches with a great angle and distance without much effort. I've found that if I try to overpower the ball and my swing, I tend to slice. I think the smaller head (than those 275-400cc monsters now on the market) and forgiveness make the SS-250 a great club for beginners. I find that most beginners have trouble controlling their swing when they use the super-sized heads so the SS-250 is a great choice. For Mid-High cappers, the club is great. Easy swings are rewarded with straight and long shots... not penetrating as a lot have mentioned. In fact, before I injured my arm a few weeks ago, I was launching balls off the practice mat (no tee) with good trajectory. Sweet spot hits are rewarded with a wonderful *CRACK* sound. Most of my friends love hitting this and the fairway woods. 250 yards is no problem but can easily and regularly squeeze out 280+ Only problem I've had with it is a slice towards the end of the drive due to too much side spin (my fault). I had been hitting the ball on the heel of the club with a slight outside-in motion on my follow thru, putting the ball in a side-spin.... other than that, the distance I get before it slices is amazing ! Off-center hits, in general, are very forgiving.

I picked this driver up off of Ebay. The first thing that gets you is the orange-copper shine of the clubhead at address. While this club isn't the panacea for distance hungry players, it will get the job done. Not much feedback at impact and you can't work the ball at all with it, but again, good for the price. If you want a solid 250cc club for a low price, this is the one for you.

I was using the Ti Bubble 2 for about 2yrs until I tried the supersteel. Lets put it this way I'll never buy titanium again unless I have to. Plenty of distance, accuracy and best of all playability. Anyone in the market for a players driver without the monstrous heads out there now will enjoy this driver.

When I first started swinging this club I really liked it. No gain in distance but much more forgiving than other drivers I had tried. I was able to hit the ball straighter and on occasion shape it. For the price it was a good buy. If you have more money and want more distance look elsewhere.

I got this driver because I wasnt getting the distance I wanted off my previous driver. This driver was even worse. My draw turned into a low hook, which was not good for the courses I was playing.

I couldn't hit a driver until I found this one with the offset head. I absolutely love it. The ball goes long and straight, I regularly drive the ball 260 to 280 without a crushing swing. I'm looking forward to getting the 3 and 5 fairway woods to match. This club has definitely improved my game. The more I use it the better I like it.

I was never a big Taylor Made fan and now I know why. This was one of the worst drivers I have ever hit. All thought the trajectory was very good I felt that the shaft (R-80) was too stiff for a regular and resulted in 20 yards less distance then anything else I've hit. My Orlimar strong 3 out drives it by at least that. Other reviewers also commented about the great head feel and sound at impact. It as no sound but rather a thud compared to other drivers in it's class no matter how well you hit it. The feedback (sound or feel) is minimal. The overall accuracy was pretty good but that's about it. I picked this club up brand new for $100 and still returned it. I can't believe they were getting $230 for this club at one time.
