Excellent driver. Reliably straight. Pleasing at setup, 1 degree open as well.
All black "Darth Vader" look. Shaft
accommodates wide window of speeds....in other words it doesn't get unstable if you swing easily or load it hard for a bomb. Ball flight penetrates wind, rather than float-and-die. Certainly not my longest driver but perhaps the most accurate and reliable. MSRP on the TP model is very pricey....$700, try eBay. On the other hand, how much is playing from the short grass worth to you ?

Customer Service

Could have come with more weights in the middle category.....8,10 gm....for more fine tuning.

I have looked and looked for a driver over the last year to replace my Callaway Golf FT-3 in 8.5 degree of loft. I'm getting older now and wanted a 9.5 degree and something I could grow and change with as I got older. Well, the Superquad TP is a great club. Long and straight and feels great. The only draw back is the weights and club is expensive. But, if you want a long term club, this is it. Buy it, select the weights that fit your swing and stick with it. You can't go wrong.

Customer Service

Received two scracthced driver heads when sent to me. Third time the driver was good. Looked like they had been dropped off the shelf. Edwin Watts really took care of me.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made r7 Superquad TP

I play off a 9 handicap and was looking to replace my old Titleist 905r driver that had the V2 shaft in it - that I absolutely loved.

I demo'ed just about every current model "a" grade driver out there - I loved the look of the new superquad as well as the feel off the face, however distance wise it was just so so along with many of the others.

Just as I was about to cross the superquad off my list and buy the new Titleist 907 D2 with the V2 shaft in it, I saw the only driver that I hadnt hit (because of the price) the Superquad TP.

I took it to the range and an hour later I had bought it.

The club performed completely different to the normal superquad.

The TP (for me) was incredibly long and incredibly consistent - in fact it was as long and as consistent as the Titleist 907 D2 with the V2 Shaft - which outperformed everything else by about 10-20 metres.

So after chosing the Superquad TP the only decision for me was whether to put a V2 shaft in it or not.

Since there was no TP anywhere to try with that shaft in it, I wasnt willing to take the gamble on buying something that I hadnt hit, plus the extra cost of re-shafting an already very expensive club, and the fact that I was very happy with the clubs performance anyway made the decision for me.

The normal Superquad underperformed while the TP outperformed virtually everything out there - which is the classic lesson for all of us that it is the shaft that determines whether the club works for you not so much the club face.

Well done Taylor Made - (with the exception of the price tag) - I love the new TP - will post another review in a month or so - after the "my driver can do no wrong" honeymoon period is over.

Customer Service

Taylor Made is normally pretty good - what else would you expect from "the best performance brand in the world"
