Second best driver of all I demoed. Went to Myrtle Beach for 144 holes with this, Ping ISI-Ti, Pure Spin and Steelhead Plus. Fine club. Not quite as much distance and forgiveness as the Ping which I ultimatley purchased (see my review there). The Titleist is a good solid choice. Great Driver for those who like traditional look. Not for beginners. I am hitting longer & more accurate than my previous drivers. You can shape your drive on the fairways. Its great Driver to have well balanced. Buy one & you won't regret it, but remember its not very forgiving. This is my perfect driver. i posted an earlier review of this club but i coulnt hit it because i purchased the wrong loft but i changed the loft and man i kill the ball off the tee 240-270+ yards and most of the time it is straight down the middle of the fairway but i would recommend that if u have a high handicap hit this club first before buying it because u might find it hard to control Similar Products Used: None |

I recently switched to the 975D after having played with Orlimar woods exclusively for nearly 3 years. Some of the reviews here have talked about the difficulty in hitting the club and the unworkability in shotmaking. In my opinion, these reviewers must expect the club to do all the work and expect technology to hide the flaws in their game. I think most golfers who have a fundamentally sound golf swing will find this to be a very friendly club to hit. I haven't noticed any gains in distance over the other clubs I have played but the 975D is far easier to draw and fade at will. As one other reviewer mentioned, the sound at impact is more of a dull thud than a crisp ping which would have been nice, but I prefer to judge a club based on the results of the shot rather than its sound. I bought this club two years ago. I demo'd it alongside the Callaway Hawkeye. While I felt more power in the Hawkeye I felt the 975D easier to control. It's not a club for everyone, and many have bought into the hype because of who uses it on tour. The club is very forgiving. I'm a reasonably long hitter yet I have no problem being consistently in play off the tee. My best shots go around 285 (no wind/hill assistance) normal shots go around 265-275. Mis-hits can easliy go in the 240-250 range. I find that if I swing relatively easily the club does the work. The club allows me to swing in a controlled manner and still get good distance. Won 2 long drive competitions w/ it last year. Overall I'd rate it very highly, but it's not for everyone. Similar Products Used: Callaway Hawkeye |

The 975D requires a little getting used to, but if you put forth the effort on the driving range, you will be rewarded. I think that I have become a better ball striker because of the driver. If I am out of rhythm on a particular day, it definitely shows. You cannot get away with an overly quick swing as with the Orlimar products, but then again when you've got your groove on, nothing compares to the bombs that the 975 can deliver. How much further? Don't really know and don't really care. I just like using wedges instead of 7s, 8s, and 9s for my approach shots. Similar Products Used: Orlimar Plus 10.5 |

I think this driver is all hype and nothing else. It's not user friendly. I could hit the ball better with my Integra driver (and way cheaper). So this 975-D is just collecting dust in my garage waiting for buyer from PennySaver. Customer Service None Similar Products Used: Callaway VFT, Integra, Peerless Big Thunder. |

I've tried many different clubs, and this one is just about the worst club that costs over $100, that i've ever hit. To start off, it has a bad feel and a dull sound at impact. Secondly, it is not forgiving at all. The sweetspot is smaller than an trimetal (and that is very small). It claims to be "workable" but it sure wouldn't draw for me consistently. Customer Service Not good. Similar Products Used: tm 300 series, tisi, 975 J, vft, erc2, hawkeye, lynx black cat ti 400, liquidmetal |
