The titleist 975d is pure power. Before i got this sweet driver, i was hitting around 230, but now im hitting 260+. This driver is giving me confidience when i step up to a tee box and shows wonderful results. This was def. a great buy and has a great look. One very sweet driver that everyone should have in their bags. This driver is changing numbers on the score card.

This golf club is great, i struggle with driving but when i got my hands on this i gained so much distance,i also had a harrison stiff shaft on it and it makes the club even better, with the low trajectory and huge role the ball keeps goin and goin

Model Reviewed: 7.5 º 975D w/BiMatrix Shaft

I posted a review on 12/31/00 and since then I have tried many other shafts such as the UST 65, Grafalloy Prolite 35, and recently the BiMatrix. By far the BiMatrix is the best for this driver. It gives the head an uncomparable feel to any other driver and it is more solid at impact then normal. If you are thinking of getting rid of your 975D seriously try a BiMatrix shaft in it. You will immediately change your mind.

Poor weren't willing to help me with questions on the club specs.

I have always been a callaway man until I decided I needed more accuracy and less height and spin.I bought the ping Tisi but found it to be unforgiving because of it's size.

My club's assistant pro. advised me to try out the 975D and let me borrow his for a fortnight.I took it down to the driving range and was instantly hooked.Although it had a stiff shaft I still managed to batter them 230 yards(10 yards less than the ping) but straight as a die.

I had my swing speed measured and my pro. ordered one, custom specs, from titleist.

I really enjoy hitting this driver and find it to be incredibly consistant and accurate. If you are thinking of buying one then demo it first as some players will not like the feel or sound at impact until they are used to it.

One of the best drivers on the market , especially as the new 975J has been released because you may get a very good deal on one.

Customer Service

Very good.

After golfing for 25 years and using a 3 wood to tee off with (most recently a Callaway Big Bertha 3 wood) I decided it was time to join the big boys and buy a driver. Read many reviews and tried out several models. Taylor Made 300 series all caused a hook. Callaway VFT was a nice club but I couldn't justify $400 (as well as having to change the shaft.) Tried the 975d 8.5* with Titleist Ultralight 65 TX shaft and found that it works great. However it is definitely a club that you need to have a fundamental swing to use as it will not correct all of your mistakes. Reasonably good hits are well rewarded with a penetrating drive that will definitely fly and have a good roll. For me, it definitely added some noticable yardage from using a 3 wood. I would recommend this to anyone that has a decent swing and with the new Js coming out you can find some good deals on these at $225 or less.

Great Driver! Bought in when the price went down because the 975J came out. I wish i wouldnt have waited! However, beginners beware as this driver can be difficult to hit. I wouldn't recommend it to a novice. Even accomplished golfers should demo, or hit this club before they purchase it as some do not like the feel of it, or cannot hit it well. But if you can hit i gurantee it will bring you more distance. I gained 15 yards off the tee from my former driver a Callaway Steelhead. I defintely recommend you try it out!!

Premier Driver. This piece of equipment demands that your skill level be higher than the normal golfer. You can absoulutely crush the ball doen the fairway and work the all from L to R or R to L. My brother uses a PING Tisi which feels and works very sinilar, but it looks goof because it is so huge. The 975D has a genuine classic look to go along with its awesome performance. **important** dont use the stock shafts, they are horrible. I switched to the Proforce 65s and it compliment the head that much more.

I demoed this club at driving range and it seemed to keep up distance wise with the VFT and Steelhead Plus. But it responded more to the nuances of your stroke than the previous 2 mentioned. All in all, if you have the money, get one, good club, but you must swing well, the club will not help you or correct anything, and it shouldn't. I'm young, learn to swing well, don't correct your swing, with clubs, correct it with a better swing.

Picked this sucker up at the local shop for a good price because they're clearing it out for the 975js. I had been in the market for a driver for a long time. I had been using an orlimar trimetal before, and though it worked for me at the beginning, I found that as my swing improved, the orlimar became more erratic. I must have tested out every freakin driver out there.
This was the last driver that I thought I would get. Everyone's been talking about the taylor mades and the hipti or the pings and I thought those were going to be great. Absolutely horrible. The problem is all the new drivers out right now are incredibly light. There is absolutely no feel. And if you have a fast swing, its very easy to come over the top with those drivers. Thats why the 975d is so freakin awesome. Its got great balance and feel. If you have fundamentally sound swing, once you let your legs and hips trigger the downswing, no matter how much juice I try to put, this driver just naturally seems to move into the inside-out slot position. And when it doesn't, you can automatically feel it. You will NOT get this kind of feedback from those ultralight behemoth drivers out there.
As for forgiveness, I've found this driver to be very consistent, moreso than my previous orlimar. An when a fade does pop out, its incredibly easy to fix. The driver responds very well to tiny adjustments in your swing.

Finally, the trajectory of the ball is unreal. Just that alone puts this in the same class as those giant drivers are there right now in terms of distance.

Not your average club, if long and straight you like'em. this club is definetley for you. i was hitting 220-230 with my old driver and now i am 260+ even a few blasts getting in the 290 area, folks i'm 14.this club is forgiving as long as you are not much off the center then your ball length is gonna be just great.i got an ei-70 shaft 8.5* . this is the club to go with if you can hit about a ball length around the sweetspot, and whatta sweetspot it is.
