975J Airweight Stiff 9.5
Summary: WOW, deffinately has a different feel off the Tee then the 975D. Has more of a Ting sound. The ball flight is higher. The head is amazingly similiar to the 975D, so no adjustment had to be made. Seems to be 15 yards longer then the 975d. Sometimes I can hook the 975D, didn't have any problems so far with the 975J. the shaft feels great very simmilar to ultralight 60. Definately the best driver on the market. 975J
I had been using the 975D for several years with great effect, and therefore decided to try the 975J due to its good reviews. Like the 975D I found the the EI-70 shaft was not right for me. I experimented with shafts for a while at great cost and found the HM-40 Tour 95(aldila) a great combination. Given the bore thru this is a very stiff and heavy option, which helps keep the club on plane. With the same shaft in the 2 clubheads, I noticed additional distance not so much from carry but roll. This club may not be the longest on the market, but it is a great compromise in distance, accuracy, aesthetics and feedback. You are paying for the name but also a quality product with game improvement qualities. My favorite thing about this club is that is not loud when cracking the ball off the tee. I am in no position to give advise but, do some research on the shaft that suits you, because the stock shafts are generally not that great. Titleist 975 J
I have always been a good driver of the ball, above avg. length and usually straight. I had my old driver (TM burner) for several years and decided to upgrade to the new J when it came out. I purchased the driver w/ UST 75 shaft. My first thougts were that the driver was not very forgiving, after several months that thought didn't change. The driver is definately long on good hits, but mis hits seemed very unforgiving. A hit that would have been a cut w/ my old driver, was dead right with the J. I gave it several months and just never hit it well. I have a friend who is playing the same J driver and has had almost the same complaint. I sold my J driver on ebay for $60 more than I bought my new Taylor Made 320 tour. I have seen instant improvements with the TM driver. Distance is better all around, but especially on mis hits. A much more forgiving driver. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: TM 320 tour, Ping Tisi |

Titleist 975J VS 8.5 w/Grafalloy Pro Lite Stiff shaft
Wow! A friend brought his new 975 J VS the last time we played. I tried it and I was sold. I bought my own and I haven't looked back. It has easily added 25+ yards to my drive. The launch angle is high despite the 8.5 degree loft, and the ball cuts through the air like nothing I've seen (important in the dense summer air). The J VS is easy to draw since it is made for this purpose, but it can be worked the other way without a problem. I also like the fact that it feels solid when you hit it...it does not have a "tinny" sound, nor does it have a lifeless "thump" like some clubs. I'm glad to say I am introducing my ball to parts of the course and range it had never visited off the tee. Look for a deal on this one, prices tend to be high at pro shops. This is the most consistent best sounding ball crushing stick I've ever used. Previous drivers I've used like the hawkeye VFT, 350 T-Zoid Plus, 975D, 300s II are no match for this one. I own the 975J-VS with fujikura speeder stiff shaft. Best damn shaft I've used in my opinion. Ooozes with so much power and zing. You don't have to be a pro to hit this one a mile with a boring or tour trajectory. If you haven't hit a golf ball with this baby, you don't know what driving is all about! I have a fast, upright swing with a high ball flight. In the past, I've gotten a great deal of carry (250-260 yards) and 4 feet of roll. Had a Ping ISI driver with Harrison shaft, the shaft helped but still had a control issue. Tried a number of combinations (Cobra, TMs, Callaway, etc). Then I tried the 7.5 degree 975J with a Speeder shaft. So far, tremendous results!! Ball flight is much more penatrating, carry is almost as long as the Ping BUT roll is 20-30 yards!! Don't know if it's for everyone - but the combination of shaft and driver head seems terrific for me. 975J-VS 9.5 deg Pro 4565 Prolite Grafalloy Stiff flex
Okay. I am 17 years old, play off 13 and have a solid and good tempo swing. I was desperate to find a new driver to add some distance and forgiveness to my tee shots. I borrowed the TaylorMade XR-03 with a regular shaft and found that the head is TOO big and the sound is crap at impact. It sounds hollow and that there is no real umph when you hit the ball. The shaft is also to whippy. I then tried out the Taylormade R510 with a stiff shaft but found the same problem with the feel and it just isnt worth the extra cash. The R360 is a very good club with a stiff shaft and it hits the ball a long way, but there seems to be no feedback from the shots and the muzzled sound is awful. Next comes the ERC 2. The ping noise is so loud that it becomes annoying after a while. This club also has to be bought with a stiff shaft because the regular is stupidly whippy. Unfortunately i just didn't seem to get on with this club. I tried the 975D with the EI shaft and found the the trajectory is fine but just doesn't seem to fly off of the face. I then went to the local range and tried the New Titleist 975J-VS. WOW. This has a superb solid feel but the ball springs off the face so hot it makes the ERC 3 and XR-03 look weak. I used the Pro 4565 prolite grafalloy stiff shaft with 9.5 deg loft and the ball flies an absolute mile. My driving distance must have increased from 220 yards to about 240 if not more. The face is perfect shape and the pear shape is just so easy to look at at adress unline the ERC2 and the XR-03. This is the club that I am definately going to enjoy using to shoot VERY low rounds with. I cannot say how important it is to get the right shaft though. THIS IS ONE HELL OF AN AMAZING CLUB. A must buy for a good golfer. 10 star Customer Service Excellent at A1 driving range Similar Products Used: XR-03, R510, R320, R360, ERC 2, Mizuno Power Driver, 975D. The 975J-VS is definately the best. BY FAR |

Titleist 975J 9.5 w/ GD YS-7 Stiff
This club is 15-20 yards longer and much straighter than my old driver (975D 9.5 w/ Grafalloy ProLite S). I am very impressed with the YS-7 shaft, much better feel and control than the Grafalloy. The 975J head is easy to align and gives a boring trajectory that is slightly higher than the 975D. Great club and a great shaft! I have been on a crusade to find a driver that worked for me. After using the Ping TISI and spraying it everywhere, I decided to try the Titleiest 975J with the EI-70 Stiff shaft. The driver is very solid. I have found that a smooth effortless swing works best for me with this club. It is long and more accurate than the Ping by far. It has excellent feel and feedback with the EI-70 shaft. I struggled with the Ping because of the Hook face (RUH) hozel it had on it. I was struggling with everything going high right with my other drivers and the pro talked me into the TISI saying it would cure my problems. NOT.. I sprayed it all over the course. It had the Graf. Elite shaft in it. The 975 J has increase my driving distance by at least 15 yards to give me a better shot at the greens in regulation. I would urge anyone to try the 975 J. Prices are down and you can get one at a bargain right now.. Best driver i have ever had!! Im only 14 but still i have tried out almost every single driver before buying this one and i choose this one cuz it is so forgiving and gives a lot of distance. My old driver the steelhead plus i hit 240-250 consistantly but now with the 975J i hit it 280-290 consistantly. has helped my game a lot.
