I go play at my favorite course, and a guy joins our group. He had this driver, and seemed to hit it very well. He said he really like it, but he was waiting for his new Cleveland driver to come in. I've been playing a 975D for the last 2 years, and have loved it. But I wanted to try one of the newer 975's, so I hit his a few times, loved it, and said I would buy it. He said $90 and I said "follow me to an ATM." I have been playing with this club for about a month and think it is excellent. Not really much longer than my 975D, but definitely gets more roll and requires a much more effortless swing. It has the YS-6 shaft, which is pretty good. I'm thinking about replacing it with something lighter but haven't made up my mind. Altogether, this is an excellent driver. The sound is definitely different, but it almost always goes long and straight. I tried a new Nike driver and I swear I think I lost distance. Anyway, I've hit a lot of sticks and I don't think you can go wrong with a Titleist wood. Especially for 90 freakin dollars!!!!!!!!!

Great stick, i would recommend it to anyone if you can find it for a good price(i got mine for $99, new 983E is at least $350.) I read reviews here on how some people cant seem to squre its face, but i have found that if you put a good swing on it, it is as one review put it "point and shoot straight." I came from a Taylor Made 320 9.5*, so i was a little concerned about using a 7.5. But that loft has turned out to be perfect, as club is high launch design. If purchasing, consider going down at least one full degree; it worked for me.

This is the most beautiful driver I have ever laid my hands on It is a great tool I purchase it this fall and since then I have dropped 5-8 strokes The head is not very forgiving but the size is very comfortable and promotes confidence. I used a 975d for years and I had to work a lot harder to get the same performance I am hitting fairways more frequently which set me up to hit more greens It would be a difficult driver for a high- mid handicapper Please avoid This stick is for someone that has worked on his or her swing I have the ys-6 shaft w 8.5 loft It made me practice my short game which has taken me from a 12 to a 7 Very long and very straight!!!

I purchased this driver last march (2003) while awaiting the golf season to arrive in april. I was a little sceptical at first. It was a 180* turn in sound and feel than my previous Ping i3. I thought to myself..."what a waste of money". But when the golf season came i just kept hitting it and although the sound and feel is different from a ping or callaway i learned to like this club. My friends all thought the driver sounded like crap when i hit it but when i stripped it down the middle and 20-30 yards ahead of them, they too like the driver ( excluding its thud like sound). I really enjoy this driver but i have to say...it doesn't really produce a fade and cure your hook like it has been said to do. I hit the ball fairly straight but i always go through fazes where one week i am hooking the ball to the next week where i am slicing the ball, but overal i can keep it in play and not spray it way left or way right. I would say that this club will stay in my bag for a good while because when it comes to 'crunch' time in tournaments and you need a big drive in play, i can say that this driver helps me fully in accomplishing that objective

I'm what many would call an equipment junky. I'll buy what is new, use it for a while, then sell it on eBay. We play a lot of golf and spend a lot of money betting. On Saturdays, when the betting is mild, it'll be a different driver each and every time. But on Sundays - at $10/skin - I'll bring the 975L-FE. It's a 9.5* that I upgraded with a Speeder 757 regular cut to 44.5in. The overall weight is still at 321grams but it swings nicely at D2. Guys, it doesn't go as far as my Daiwa ONOFF (a COR of .87) but I tell you one thing this driver is STEADY. And since the course we play is 6400 yards accuracy is the name of the game. There's something about the combination of a low torque shaft, Titleist's version of a bore-through, and that long ass ferrule. That combined with a 350cc head...steady baby. Flat trajectory and just steady. By the way, I also have the 983E....that stays at home on Sundays.

The Titleist shaft broke two weeks ago and I was forced to borrow a friend's Cobra Driver. The Titleist is back and so is the consisitency and accuracy. Pure weight. Pure face. Well worth getting used.

I love this driver. I just got it this year. I am only 14 and believe it or not I hit this driver huge.(275-325 yards) I had a John Dialy Hippo driver it sucked it was way to whippy. I got mad at it and smashed it over a tree. My 975L-FE has a Bi-Matrix shaft it is stiff but good.

I tried a few clubs yesterday. I am using a Hippo Giant right now, and I want it out of the bag...it is horrible. I demoed a Ping Isi Tec and loved it. I tried a Launcher and was pleased with the distance, but hooked it quite a bit (odd because I have a slice). The Cobra 350 was more inconsistant than my Hippo. On a whim, I tried an older Titleist. I was hesitant because I've heard they are geared more towards strong players, but I tried it anyway...I hit it about the same as the Ping...around 260-270 and straight. The Ping was very expensive, so I left Chuck Brown's disappointed...and went to Golftown, where I found the 975LFe for under $300 Canadian. I hit it on the simulator about 50 times...lost 1 to the right, and about 4 to the left (I'm a lefty), and the rest were in the fairway. I was shocked to learn here that it is a fade club...I was making a controlled swing, and I was hitting an average of 250 with it...straight down the shoot...I hope this stays the same on the course! I also love the feel of the club.

Was very unsure aobut this driver before I purchased it. I had tried all of the Titleist drivers. Since I hook the ball. With its fade enhancing head. I thought it would be roght for me. IT WAS. I can hit the ball both was most of the time. I mostly now hit the ball straight to a slight soft fade. I have the Fuikura Speeder shaft in X flex in this driver. Its 8.5 degrees. It had a great trajectory. I easily hit the ball 300 to 325 yards on good hits. The only thing I dont like about this club is on toe hits you lose alot of distance. usually a low hook. I have kept this driver longer than any other. I just tried a 983E with the same set up. It is fine too. I think it is a little straighter than mine but not any longer. I love it. Fairways are cool!
