Like many 905T owners,I recently purchased the 905R with same shaft and loft as my 905T with the expectation that it would be a step up. What I found is that the 905R's only benefit is a larger sweet spot. IMO the 905T is a better club in all other aspects for all but high handicappers that need the extra large sweet spot. The 905T is easier to swing well, has a beautiful boring/penetrating trajectory, is more workable and feels more solid at impact. The 905R has a more hollow sound at impact, and it is noticeably harder to square up the face at impact. I just felt more in control of the swing with the 905T, and therefore hit better and longer shots more often than with the 905R. Bottom line, the 905T is a great club(way better than the 983K)and I would pass on the 905R and wait to see how well the new 907D2 is recieved.

This is a great club! I previously was hitting the 983K and was having a horrible time with snap hooks at the range. The proshop just got in a demo of the 905T with the NV75 stiff shaft and it was a huge difference. The guy told me that the speeder shafts put in the 983's were really not as stiff as they claimed to be. I generate a fair amount of clubhead speed and that was causing the snaphooks. The 905T's bigger head has an excellent shape and look at address and the sound is second to none. I hit this driver straighter than any driver I have played before. The only wayward shots made with this club I know are from operater error.

firstofall i thankyou titleist for making such a grat product. when i got this driver rite of the bat i hit it solid and far. and what surprises me is that i kept on hitting it far and solid. this driver is a 400 cc driver and the head is just the rite look. not to big not to small. also the nois that it makes is not like that cobra driver that is just screching loud and annoing. i love this product and i think any bodey out there looking for a nice club you should buy this one!!!!

Model Reviewed: Titleist 905T 9.5 Speeder Stiff

The BEST driver I've ever owned, seriously. I produce a lot of backspin, even on my driver, and this setup is working absolutely perfectly for me. Balls soar straight and penetrate downrange. At first I was reluctant about the 9.5 degree, thinking I would opt for something a little lower. The 9.5 is still quite penetrating without losing the height you need to fly the ball further downrange. I have tried just about everything else out there, as well as owned just about every Titleist model for the last 6 years - the 975D, 975J, 975J-VS, 983E, (tried the 905R)- and I can safely say that it is by far my favorite driver Titleist has ever made. The 905R is also beautiful, but I found the spin rate a little high. It would be great for flat swings however. If you are not fairly strong, however, beware the Speeder shaft as it weighs in around 80 grams. Opt for the YS6, which I found to be a beautiful shaft, especially with the 905T. Happy hunting!

I have always been a Titleist driver fan. I have tried two Titleist 905R's recently to replace my 983 and 905S. The first one I had was shafted with the new Proforce V2-75 stiff. I was not impressed at all by this shaft. If you like board feeling this is the one for you. The other one was shafted with the Graphite Design YS 6+ stiff. I much prefered the YS 6+ shaft. Much better feel and performance for me. But back to the 905R. I was not impressed with either of these clubs. Neither was any longer than my 983K with stiff NV65, or my 905S with Grafalloy Blue Stiff. Nor were they any more consistant. For the $$$ the 983 or the 905S or 905T are worth their money. 905 for lower flight and 905T for higher flight. Course depends on what shaft you put in them also. I have tried about every driver on the market. For me I am going back to the Cleveland Launcher 460 with Grafalloy Blue shaft. (You can not beat the performance and feel of the BLUE). My backup driver is the Taylormade 460 R7 Draw. A very nice driver in itself. Course these are my opinions and everyone has a different one. That is the reason they make 700 types of drivers and change them every spring. For golfers like me who lover to dingle with the new clubs.

I used to play one of the old 975D model until the massive head revolution came along. After that I think I tried every brand but Titleist. What a mistake. The 905T is the best driver that I have hit period. I would list all the others I have tried but it would take up the entire 4000 character limit. Let's just say I tried them all. This is hands down the best driver I have ever hit. My first round with this club I only missed 2 fairways and they were only a few steps out. Even the ones I hit off the toe had good distance and found the fairway. Club looks good at address and does not seem like 400cc. Do yourself a favor and put the R7 on Ebay and buy one of these. You will enjoy your golf much more.

Just thought I should post this somewhere and as this is the first site that comes up on google, I figured it would be a good place. I recently found myself in need of a new driver after cracking the shaft on my old 975jvs and figured that the 905T was the logical choice. Unfortunately, when I hit it at the local driving range it performed horribly ... until I found a model with a lighter, stiffer shaft. After that I was hitting low trajectory shots that caried about 10 yards further than the 975. Anyway, the point is that I had to hit three different drivers before I found the 905T that was right for me. Each club behaved drastically different depending on the characteristics of the shaft. So, if you are like me and enjoy the sound and feel of a titleist driver, don't be discouraged if you can't hit the 905T right away; you might just need to tweak the setup a little bit.

Golfers who prefer the feel of titleist clubs should definitely try the 905 series drivers. If properly fitted they perform better (straigher, longer, lower) than any other club that I have hit.

I'm 57 and in my second full year of golf. Have been lead to believe thru many sources that a regular (even senior) shaft with high loft is the club for me. Went thru quite a few. Started driving well with a 3 wood so I gave up on the driver all together. Recently tried a new 905T, 10.5 degree, with a stiff Proforce shaft. After 2 buckets of balls, I bought it on the spot for 150 bucks! Every other club I had was regular shafted between 10.5 and 13 degrees. I do not have a fast swing by any means (90 +/-), but this is the right combination for me! This is the only stiff shaft driver I have ever played with and it is the only one that I have ever hit the greatest number of fairways with, along with obtaining some decent yardage on a consistent basis. There is so much equipment hype in this game it could make your head spin. I got caught up in it and the general principles simply didn't apply. Venture out and take a chance, you may be surprised what really works for YOU!!
