Tour Edge Bazooka QL 455 Ti Drivers

Tour Edge Bazooka QL 455 Ti Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The Bazooka's titanium construction cuts weight in the face and crown allowing dual fixed tungsten weight screws totalling 14 grams to be placed in the rear sole and heel. The fixed screws provide a lower, deeper center of gravity that helps you close the club face at impact and eliminate or reduce slicing. The QL's weighting system also reacts effortlessly to off-center hits by squaring the face during contact. Each and every styling cue highlights the aggression and performance of a thoroughbred. The 455cc club head's ultra-hot, 6A4V forged titanium face and tungsten screws deliver an extremely quick launch for maximum carry and roll. You'll hit is straighter and longer than ever before.

So...I used to hit the old Bazooka Jmax CF which I bought on Ebay for 100.00 quite a few years ago probably in 1999. It finally saw its last day when the face cracked right where it meets the center crown. What does my local Golf store say....send it in they will get you a comprable club for free. (I did picture a free Exotics driver...but guess that wasn't comparable). I got the QL thinking this is a temp club...I got the 9 degree no offset and was smoking this thing. Then I was like since this was free lets put a Harrison Saga shaft 70X in it( GREAT high launch/low spin shaft and minimal dispersion). This thing is awesome. about 280-285 some 320 with down wind and hard ground roll out but awesome. Next thought...lets put another Saga 70X shaft in my Rapture 9 degree. QL still beat it in fairways hit...about 6-8 yards shorter, but gave a LOT more carry than the rapture and was in the fairway. This club was money and not comin out of the bag unless I have wide open fairways and hard ground...then the Rapture will go in.

I got a used (very used) TE/QL for $46 off ebay and I like it so much I am looking to get a new one. The only debate I am having is whether to chance upgrading to a TE/Exotics driver, but I am no certain doing so would be an improvement on the QL. This driver is as straight and long as I have found, but I read that the Exotics line is even longer?

Model Reviewed: Tour Edge Bazooka QL Driver

I bought this after the end of my golf season on a whim - the club just felt right. 10.5° with the regular graphite shaft (Grafalloy for Tour Edge). The club feels more substantial than all the big brand names and it does not feel like I'm waving air on the end of a stick. The shaft feels more firm than the competing "regulars". The club head is not an obnoxious shape at address.

As a consistant slicer, I'd always expected that some driver would straighten me out. This is the one.
My distance is equal to what I hit before but now the banana is between a slight fade and straight. Purposely trying to roll the wrists through the swing can bring back the banana. Now, I just have to work on getting consistant, increased distance, as every so often I uncork one for an extra 30 yards or so.

This is no longer current product (see GeoMax), but it has all of the current expected driver attributes: size, forgiveness and increased MOI.

The headcover can be a little tight to get on or off.

Customer Service

My first stick cracked it's crown weld. No problem. Tour Edge exchanged it and their Customer Service was nicely down-to-earth.

24 out of 26 dead down the center with this driver in the sim. The club is great! Good feel, good looking and easy to hit it straight. For the first time I'm even able to "work" my drive. Less than half the price of the big names and worth twice as much. Give this driver a swing, or 26... it's that good.

I tried this club out at my local pro shop by recomendation of my pro to help straighten out my drive.Being a bit of a tinkerer the weight kit was interesting to me.This club did everything I was told it would due plus added approx 20-30 yrds to my drive. But the important part is it is extremely easy to control.I compared to the Hi-bore and Sasquatch ant this won on control since distances were the same. Also a much better price

Customer Service

Driver replaced my trusty Cleveland 400 Launcher which is just too scuffed up now. Just as long and a tad more forgiving. Does not feel as satisfying when you pure it though. Not a bad value for $129 brand new though. Performs just as well as clubs costing twice as much.
