Has technology REALLY changed our golf? I Bought this driver about 4 years ago as a second hand item and for a steal (£25) on EBay. At the time it Tour Edge's version of the R5 with weights that could be added to in the back of the head.

Many golfers back then were posting how good and long etc it was. When it turned up, the grip was awful - too shiny and hard. I put it away to get re-gripped and actually forgot I had it (I do own about 15 or 16 drivers).

The other day, I was clearing out my stash of clubs and saw it sitting there literally covered in dust and cob webs. It still looked an excellent design and worth a hit.
My Pro re-gripped it for me the next day and then it was off to the range. The V25 is excellent. It out-hit several of my current clubs -Speedline, Mizuno, Srixon, Wishon, Wilson.

On the Launch monitor it showed top notch Launch and spin figures for my SSR of 92 mph.....needless to say, it has now been in my bag for the passed 4 rounds culminating in a 77 gross today in the Club Monthly Medal.

So I ask ... hand on heart ... have the likes of Taylormade, Callaway, Ping etc been conning us for all these years?

Is the Ping G15 really much better than the G5; is the R11 better than the R7 ???

In theory, the V25 is 6 years out of date but it still knocks it out there with power, control and a nice running draw.

If you see one around in a bargain bin or Ebay - snap it up and enjoy hitting passed the £350 latest 'must haves'.

I usually hit a bad slice. With this club I can slow my swing speed down and hit mostly straight shots and good distance. Well worth the price.

I purchased this club after comparing it with the HiBore.I hit this club the same distance with more control (I do have a bit of a slice)so for almost 200.00less it was a no-brainer.So happy with this club I went and bought the iron set and some hybrids to finish my set
