I got this driver as a gift, it was a perfect match - I've only been playing for the last 3 summers (15 times) and I am hitting an average of 190 to 225 yards straight down the fairway, the guys are convinced I must be either lying about having never played before or taking lessons... or just that damm good LOL, the driver has to be a major part of it.

Buying a single item is great, but if you buy multiple items for their combine shipping you can forget it! They will not include apartment numbers! Its seems their shipping clerk may have just a grade school education! You will have zero help and nobody ever answer nor return calls! Customer Service Customer service recieve is ZERO! They only have auto response on eBay messages |

I know this review is a little late but... I bought this club new nearly 5 years ago and have thought about getting rid of it a number of times for a club with newer technology, but I can't. I put a midsize grip on it originally and I still hit 8/10 fairways and it's good for 280-300 yards on a very consistant basis for me. It's got to be the shaft. I hear that Wilson is bringing back the wide tip(aka Fat Shaft)clubs maybe. If so, I might think about getting rid of this one, but until then, I'll keep her. Customer Service Not used. Wilson Deep Red
I recently purchased the 9.5 driver from Oshmans and what a huge disappointment to say the least. The performance has been great, its the quality that is lacking. The head flew off after less than three rounds. I wonder who is QC individual at Wilson, sure missed this one. If this driver would stay together it would be a sweet stick, long and forgiving of you do your or my part. Wilson has been a favorite of mine for years, buyer beware if your looking for quality. Customer Service Just e-mailed them on this problem tonight. Similar Products Used: Taylor Made, Cobra ect. |

deep red 7.5* stiff flex 305cc
I had previously never used a driver with a loft lower than 9*. I know all the magazines and manufacturers state a higher lofted driver gives you longer drives, but it just didn/t work for me. The sweet spot is huge and easy to find and the 305cc head doesn't feel like I am swinging a volkswagon. I used to have the 365cc 9* model and I let my brother use it because he was struggling with his drives. He fell in love with it so I gave it to him. At that time it seemed I could hit any driver and it would work. What a mistake! Since my brother has had the driver (a little over a year) I have went through 4 drivers. It is no wonder Rankmark rated these drivers so high. I bought higher lofted drivers and just ballooned drives. Also the heads of todays drivers just seem too big. Desperate, I went onto EBay and found a 305cc, 7.5* stiff flex driver for $40. I am just crushing the ball again. The ball flight is just perfect for me. Better yet, the last round I played with my brother, I was hitting it 20-30 yds past him. great buy for $40. I truely believe that these are wilson's best drivers. If you struggle with high ball flight and don't want to change your swing, buy a used, lower lofted driver and give it a try. P.S. you can get these drivers used for the price of a round of golf. Customer Service Check the feedback of your EBay seller. After paying for the item, it took my seller 6 days to get to UPS to ship it. Very poor for a PowerSeller. Wilson Deep Red 425cc, Grafalloy stiff shaft
After using a demo at the driving range, I was amazed at the distance and accuracy of this club. Realizing I wasn't good enough to hit the legitimate 260-280 yard drives down the middle, I knew it had to be the club and not me. I bought one immediately afterwards on eBay. Since then, I've also tried the Taylor Made 580XD, Cleveland Launcher 460 and Adams Redline, finding the Wilson to be consistently 10-20 yds longer than each of the others. The TM and Cleveland have a deeper "thud" versus my Wilson's "ping," bit I'll take my sound with its added performance anytime. This driver provides exceptional distance and a huge sweet spot with incredible forgiveness that I don't understand, but will certainly accept. My often found off-center hits still travel almost as if they were hit perfectly. This is a great driver for me, one who normally plays in the low 90's (and playing for only just over 2 years). I get wonderful comments and compliments about my drives almost whenever I play. Now, if I can only get my short game fine tuned to go along with my drives....... Deep red 305cc
At 305cc the deep red looks positively tinny by todays standards the slightly angular head looks great at address and the rich metallic read is beautiful. The deep red is all about accuracy with its anti twist fat shaft and its sweet spot positioned nearer the toe where most armatures strike the ball. All is features deliver an easy to hit driver which does the work for you just swing smoothly and let the club deliver the distance. I have one or two problems with the deep red. Alignment markings could have been better, the whole club is a little light and the head tends to get lost in the back swing and perhaps the most regrettable distance is a little less than some others I have tried. overall i really like the DR and so I'll end on a positive note the sound at impact is a very satisfying slightly high pitched tonk |
