I am a big fan of Wilson, so I was looking around on ebay and won this Driver for 90 bucks in mint condition. I would have to say at first glance out of the package, I thought the red shaft and especially the headcover weren't going to win any beauty contests, although I did like the design on the top of the head. I took her out to the course and Hit the ball amazingly well. The stock shaft fits this club very nicely and overall the club seemed very light and comfortable. The sound at impact has a very nice smack to it. As far as distance, I believe any of the newer drivers can put it way out there. I hit this one as far as my Nike Ignite 460. YOu dont have to worry about distance with this Driver if you put a good swing on it. Looks to be well made, but only time will tell how it holds up. I guess If your like me and want to have a change from the 460cc head size to a smaller 400cc head, this would be a very good choice if you find one at the right price.

This is a great club. Looks good at address, hits solid, and flies forever. The 400cc clubhead makes it large enough, but not so big you can't hit it. It also allows you to work the ball if required. The Nanotech shaft is a beauty too. Carboncrown feature on the clubhead makes this club ideal for a high launch as they can place more club down and behind the ball. This is an awesome design that even taylormade didnt come up with. The ball fires off the face with so much weight behind it. But watch your loft. It hits so high, you might want to look into 10.5 for accuracy, or around 9 for accuracy AND distance. This club could make Wilson a player in the club industry again! (..that is, if $50 is knocked off the price)

Customer Service

Decent service. If there is a problem, simply send it back. But I'm biased. I work at a ProShop where Wilson stocks our shelves.

Model Reviewed: wilson PD5 10 degree grafalloy stiff

I have a 95-100 mph swing speed. Usually a good driver but my misses are a push cut or a pull hook so I do not want any draw or fade bias...just as neutral as possible. This club is IT! Not really sure what Nano Tech is but it is supposed to be the next hot thing and Wilosn has beat evryone to the punch with this club. The head and the Grafafooly shaft have this nano tech built in and it works. The stock Grafalloy shaft in the PD5 seems to be similar to the Grafalloy prolite ( 350 tip etc). I am hitting this a least 10-15 yards further than my GBB II and it is much straighter! I have played three rounds with this club ( 36 drives) and have missed only a couple of fairways and these were pulls( my fault). The face feals very hot and the trajectory is a bit high. I considered trying the 8.5 to hit a little lower with more roll but I can not change now with this performance. You have got to try this club. Was waiting on the new Hogan driver and it has taken them forever to come out but I have found my driver for some time.

Price paid: $162 Retail:$299 My first clubs as a child was a set of right handed wilson with a driver 3 5 and 5 7 9 putter and a leather wilson bag. I mention right handed cause I'm left handed I played golf til I think 11-12 when I got some left handed clubs for $100, I started to grow out of those and by 14-15 I bought a complete set w/bag for $260 I played thoughs clubs to death through high school golf and up until today ,which Im 21 now, I just bought a set of lefty x-14 irons and a callaway big bertha 2004 until I hit the wilson pd5 driver after going to a demo. Im going to send back my cbb2004 and let my dad get a callaway right handed driver. Back to the club I think that playing old clubs for so long made it really easy to tell what I liked and I didn't go with the top names. As I tried out clubs over the weekend I could easily tell which ones were riding there names but the wilson surprized myself when I shot it over a 230yd green at a range I know. I tried clubs two days the first day seemed the better hits on the second day they were back to my basic distance of max at about 220yds. I don't have to make as many adjusts to keep from slicing like I do with a taylormade or a callaway. I'm not saying it prevents slicing I did have a few slices that landed 170yds and 20yds to the left. I think that this club is a sleeper among giants it will go down in price and sell for less but you'll have a club that plays like one you have to pay 250+. I dont know if its the nano shaft and head or if its just my mind but I hit this with confidence knowing it will be in the fairway. The worst part of the club is the head cover its not that pleasing to look at and it way too tight for the club I would even try to fit a 460cc on a headcover.
