Here's my review of this club after a dozen rounds and many trips to the range. Me- 37 years old. 5'9" 180lbs. Handicap 7.0 SS 100(approx.) The club is a Crown Jewel Maxima 400 - 9 degree and .5 degrees closed and the lie is 58.5 degrees. The shaft is a 45" stiff ZT SLT-60. Grip is a Golf Pride Players Softie. Appearance - It is good if not better looking than many other OEMs. It has the beautiful blue finish with the gold "chevron" on the crown. The SLT shaft is similar looking to ZT's XLT shaft. (Blue fading to black at the tip) This is the Big Brother to the Maxima 330 and looks to be about the same size as the Maxima 360, only a little taller. Performance - I found the club to be very long and forgiving. After a number of emails with John at ZT, he suggested that I go with the stiff SLT-60 shaft. I felt I wasn't loading the XLT shaft as well. The SLT feels a little softer and similar to the ZT Power 65 shaft that I have in a Maxima 360. This shaft works when my swing is on and I can still load it when I am having those slightly over the top days with my swing. Since putting the Maxima 400 in my bag I have hit now worse than 50-percent of my fairways with my best round at 72-percent. For me, the Maxima 400 has a similar trajectory at the 330. It's a medium trajectory. Playing into the wind was no problem with this club. All I had to do is tee it a little lower. Feel - The Maxima 400 feels lively. With dead center hits, the ball just seems to slingshot off the face. Even with a face this size, I can still tell where contact is. This has replaced my ZT Maxima 360 in the bag. The 360 resided there for a little over a year.

Customer Service

As I stated above, John at ZT was very helpful in determining the right shaft for me.

Another huge winner from ZT. I am an 18 index, 5-91/2, 175 lbs Club: 10*, square face, Apache Micro 58 MFS regular shaft, tipped 1", 45" long. Theis club feels much hotter than the 330. Distances are similar (longish). The club sets up well(square) and looks beautiful. The deep blue of the Apache shaft matches well with the deep blue of the head. This club is big, but does not overwhelm. In fact, until you show someone that it is 400 cc, few comment on the head size. In comparison to the 330, I tend to fade this club, but I put that down to overswinging (my fault). It feels and sounds very "hot", inviting you to whale away at the ball. Thankfully it is pretty forgiving as well. My usual fade is the sin, but this club usually prevents the ball from tailing off too far right. I have knocked a couple of great drives with this club over two rounds. I do like it. It has supplanted the 330 for now, but I can see myself switching between the two to enforce some discipline in slowing down my swing. Apache MFS 58 shaft: tipped one inch, this shaft is a little more supple than the XLT 70 in my 330. Very stable overall and snaps nicely through the ball. Both club and shaft are real winners. I recommend either of these as well as the 330.

I'm an 18 handicap, but better with woods than irons. Set-up: I used two versions, one at 44" with Rifle Steel 5.0 and one at 45" with the ZT XLT-70 graphite shaft in regular flex. Both are 9*. Appearance: Conservatively gorgeous. Deep blue metallic finish, with shiny face and sole. The driver looks smaller than it is, due to a very deep face. Feel: Crisp in both feel and sound. It's a lively feel in both steel and graphite. Distance: Absolutely excellent, even on off-center hits. I cannot tell a distance difference between the two versions. Forgiveness and Accuracy: The clubhead is extremely forgiving, though I have had an easier time dialing it in on the range than on the course (both versions). I can miss in either direction, but feel very confident.

Me- 32 years old. 6'3" 195lbs. Handicap 20 (approx.) SS 105 (approx.) The club is a Crown Jewel Maxima 400 - 9 degree (9.5 according to ZT) and .5 degrees closed. The shaft is a 46" stiff ZT XLT-70. Grip is a Golf Pride Tour Wrap. I do not know the swingweight. Appearance - Top notch. Beautiful dark blue finish. The club does not look as big as normal 400cc heads. A friend of mine has a 320cc driver that appears to be almost the same size from address. Alignment aid is a little big, but does not bother me at all. The shaft color (blue fading to black) compliments the head very well. Great looking combo. The headcover is also top notch. Performance - I found the club to be very long and forgiving. As long as any club I've played (if not longer). The forgiveness is a plus for me (see handicap). I don't get the "rights" with this club. If I have any tendencies with it, it's to go left (my swing fault). I can just make a smooth swing with this club and get very good results. I've also been getting pretty good results on off-center hits. Trajectory - Is about what I've come to expect from a 9 degree head. I have no problem getting the ball airborne. I don't have a ballooning problem either. Feel - The club is very solid. It gives me a very nice, crisp feel when struck well. I can definitely tell when I've mistruck the ball (just like it should). The sound is also very nice. I'm not embarrassed to pull it out on the range like I've been with others. It is in the bag with no foreseeable changes in the future. I would have no reservations about recommending this club to anyone.

I have a 9 degree 400 with a 46 inch stiff XLT-70 shaft. The club is as long and forgiving as any club out there. The head and shaft are both top notch in quality and appearance. If you are looking for a driver that will give you optimum distance with accuracy, this is it.

Customer Service

As good as it gets.

I say that I shoot in the 90s, but my scores this year have ranged from 77 to 102 on par-71 and par-72 championship layouts. Handicap Index is currently at 12.8, so I guess that I should say "shoots in the 80s & 90s. About the driver -- about as long and easy to hit as the Maxima 330, which is my overall favorite right now. I just prefer the slightly smaller size and slightly higher center-of-gravity in the Maxima 330. Soft and pleasant feeling at impact and does not sound loud or "tinny" at impact. This particular driver is marked 8* loft, but is actually at about 7.2* to 7.5*, 45.5" long, 0.5* closed face (vs. square on my 8.5* Maxima 330). Believe it or not -- this driver can even be hit from a perfect lie in the fairway!

Customer Service

Zero Tolerance has the best customer service in the golf business, in my opinion!
