Ping G15 Fairway Woods

Ping G15 Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

The elongated, low profile design of the G15 Fairway Wood offers a long, forgiving option for golfers who rely on the confidence of a larger head. An external weight pad on the sole of the stainless steel head positions the center-of-gravity low and farther back to provide higher trajectories and increased distance. Its low spin feature is the result of the low profile design.

Wow... hit the Demo today. Was awesome. If I wasnt so happy with my Adams Hybrids, might be tempted to buy this. Something about the head being slightly behind the shaft, seems to encourage an amazingly straight shot. 200 yards, without even trying. Should I throw away my Driver? Got some serious hang time also, which obviously would be good for sticking the greens. Pings got it going on.

Model Reviewed: G15 Fairway 5 Wood:

Having a slow swing speed (87 MPH), I have carried a 5, 7, and 9 woods. When I snapped the shaft of my Callaway Big Bertha II 5 wood with Senior Shaft, I was going t have it reshafted. But, with a cost of over $100, I decided to buy a new 5 wood. Since I currently play PING irons (G10) and Wedges (TOUR-W), and Driver (G-15 10.5 Draw), I bought a G-15 5 wood with the Soft-Regular shaft. I Love it. It is straight and I have picked up 15 years from the old Big Bertha. I am so impressed, I am looking to pick up a new 7 wood. My only complaint: they don't make a 9 wood...yet.

Customer Service

Excellent.

Easy to get up in the air. The head is larger than the G10, and the sole works well out of the rough. The feel is excellent, like a punch at impact. Ping has a very good stock shaft in the TFC149. The only downside is distance-- about 1/2 to one club shorter than comparable woods.

Customer Service

Ping is very good but a bit slow as of late.

Model Reviewed: Ping G-15 Fairway Wood

I have been playing with a Callaway VFT 3 wood for many years but I was interested to see how it compared to newer models.

I went into a local golf store to demo some potential candidates. The salesman gave me a three clubs to try out – a Ping G15, a Cleveland Launcher and a Taylor Made R9. After hitting a couple dozen balls, the Ping was by far the best of the bunch.

I played a round with it yesterday and the G-15 delivered great ball flight and outstanding distance. The club head looks great at address and the grip and the shaft feel perfect.

A big reason why this club works so well for me was having access to a Launch Monitor and the salesman’s knowledge in determining the right specs for my swing.

If you are in the market for a 3 wood, I recommend that you put this club on your list.
