This is just the finest golf club I have ever had in my hands. It has wonderful static balance which carries over into a wonderful dynamic balance.
I tend to know where the clubface is at all times during the swing. I find the club as easy if not easier to launch than a hybrid. Distance is a bonus with this club. A rare gem.

Picked up this used 5 wood with a proforce 65 s flex shaft in it for 7.00. What a steal. This club does everything that I want it to do. It fades, draws, and hits straight. I can hit it about 230 and it has really good feel. Shaft and head combo really turned out good.

Model Reviewed: I3 Strong 3 Wood 13 Degree

I bought my Ping I3 13 degree strong 3 wood 6-7 years ago on Ebay and quickly followed up with the 5 and 7. The Strong 3 is my favorite "go to" club, because I can consistently hit a nice fade about 190-200 yards from just about any kind of lie imaginable. Just last week I drove the green on a very short par 4 at a municipal course, leaving an 8 foot putt for eagle. When it comes to inspiring confidence in one's game you can't do much better than this fairway wood.

The only drawback to this club is the same with all Ping woods of this era-it's second only to the SI3 as one of the ugliest woods Ping has ever made, but since I don't buy clubs for their asethetic appeal it's not an issue for me.

I have to to agree on both points here. I have demo'ed this club a few times and finally decided to buy one used. I picked it up for $50 and immediately took it to the driving range. I loved it, I was consistently hitting the ball about 225 yards off the ground and straight everytime (which is a miracle for me). I thought that I had found my cure to being horrble with a 3 iron. That was until...it broke. I didn't hit the ground and I hadn't in any of the other 20 - 30 hits. I hit the ball clean and the head went flying. I was able to get my money back, but was told that it cannot be fixed because Ping no longer makes the peice that broke, go figure. So, I will say that I loved this club...until it broke. Will I buy another one? No. But I will be looking for something as similar as possible because with that club, I hit about 20 of the best balls of my life.

Model Reviewed: i3 5 wood

I purchased the i3 5 wood used. Has standard Ping shaft, regular flex. I have been thru a fair number of fairway woods and hybrids and have hit many of them fairly well, but my consistency with the i3 5 wood has helped my game. I play the same 3 courses for most of my golf, and have gone from shooting 98-102 down to the lower 90's, with an occasional dip into the high 80's! I look at a 98 now as a poor score. The main reason for this improvement is this i3. I hit this small headed club with a great deal of confidence, and the ball flies. I am on more par 4's in 2 than ever before. I've read a few not so favorable reviews about this club and they are plain silly. The guy who keeps knocking the heads off needs to stop hitting the turf so much!!! Hey, not all clubs are for everyone. But this one is for me.

This is an absolutely superb fairway wood which has a very low and consistent ball flight, is very easy to shape and control the ball and is absolutely perfect for the golfer who is after more consistency. If you happen to have £150 burning a whole in your back pocket and are in the market for a new 3 wood I couldn't possibly reccomend anything other than this except the original Callaway steelhead, although these are particularly hard to come by nowadays.

Model Reviewed: Ping i3 Fairway Wood 12*

I have to start off by saying that I used to be a strong advocate of Ping. I played their Eye2 irons forever and used a Ping Zing Isopur2 putter. That being said, I am disappointed in what I am about to write. This is the SECOND i3 fairway wood have gone through. Why? Because they keep on snapping at the hosel and my club head goes flying. The first one I struck up to being faulty plastic for the hosel. But it has happened a second time. And this recent one was the replacement 3 wood that PING rebuilt for me. And just to note: these did not happen when I was hitting it fat and driving the club into the ground. These have both happened when teeing off and striking the ball perfectly. I will not be getting another one. It has to be the chemical reaction (after about 2 years) of the epoxy/resin "eating" away at the integrity of the plastic. Do not get this club if you are looking to have it for more than 2-3 years.

Customer Service

Ping was very responsive to replacing the first time this happened. I have yet to call them about this second time. I am hoping they compensate me for my loss because I do not want this to happen again.

Model Reviewed: Ping i-3 3 (14 deg.) & 5 (17 deg.) fairway woods (Reg. 350 ping shafts)

Quite simply the best 3 & 5 woods on the market (at least for my game). Long & Straight! I've since abandoned the driver for 250 yd. drives in the fairway with the 3-wood. (Yeah 275 yds. drives are great, but they don't do anything for yours or my scorecard when your not in the fairway.) I use the 5-wood exclusively for long par 3's and off the deck on par 5's. Yes, I play with regular shafts in my clubs (all Ping). I've long since gotten over the attitude of GRIP IT & RIP IT! Just put a smooth 75% swing on it and watch it fly! The best $440 that I've ever spent on clubs!

Customer Service

Somewhat of a given for me, since I live in Phoenix. I just go down to the Ping factory and have them do whatever I need. They've always been very good to me.
