Model Reviewed: Precept Fuel 3 wood

I bought this club after I had purchased a set of Precept Tour Premium irons with the stiff/regular shafts that they came with. I loved the quality and feel of these irons and wanted to upgrade from my very old Callaway Bobby Jones 3 wood. As the Precept was described as having the factory Stiff/Regular shaft,I thought that it would be good for my consistency to go with the same shaft flex that I have with my irons. I bought this club off Ebay from Waveland Golf, who I highly recomend. This club is absolutely gorgeous to look at, with it's deep blue colour and very classy sole design. Funny thing though, it feels much whippier than my irons in regard to flex. It is graphite as opposed to steel in my irons, but this whippyness really spooked me at first. My fears were eased upon hitting this club as it is a beautifully solid and very straight club to hit. Although it is easily overpowered if you try and bust it and go over the top, it then hooks or pulls the ball far left, which I put down to the shaft. But swing well with good timing (I'm a 12 handicapper) and this club is very easy to hit long and straight and it sounds great too, not overly metallic at all, just a good solid thwack. Overall an excellent club and great value, but if your any better than a 12 handicapper or a very fast swinger, I would suggest a stiff shaft.
