Model Reviewed: Firesole Driver 10.5 R80

I just recently purchased a Firesole Driver from a friend with a 10.5 loft and love it! After having tried it out on the range I found it very forgiving..When you hit it right on the ball just sails, straight as an arrow!..It didn't take me very long to get used to it and soon I was crushing drives consistently!! Taylormade makes a quality product and now I'm looking at acquiring a 3 wood and 5 wood for my bag!

I purchased my Firesole driver 10.5* with R-80 shaft in Sept 2000 when I was a 20 handicap. 15 months later, I have come down to a 14 handicap due to the distance and forgiveness I get from this driver. I don''t hit a high ball so rely on good roll and that''s exactly what I get when I flush one in the middle. Even when I don''t hit it good it sees to just roll and roll and still go straight. I recommend this club to high handicapers looking to improve. I''m very satisfied with Taylor Made products that I upgraded my irons to the 320 series after using an old set for the last 8 years. I can''t wait until the price of the 320 driver comes down a bit as I might trade in the trusty Firesole. If the 320 driver is as good as the reviews I''m hearing, then I''d be crazy not to have one.

When i first hit this club I hit a bucket of low hooks. But after realizing a few swing problems , 200 mhp swing , over gripping etc..( with the help of a pro )I was soon hitting drives over 200-220 on the fly and rolling 30-50 yards. The nice thing is the driver was forgiving on most of center hits. without a major hit to distance. What surprized me is when i hit a couple right on the button perfect. wham blam slam at least 280 yards. I find the 7.5 traj very nice for keeping shots on the fairway. and the x100 shaft was perfect for me. I''d say find out your swing speed pick your shaft and pick your favorite traj ( 7.5-11 ) and go for it. you''ll love it :)

These irons are easy to hit and really go long when struck cleanly. I have improved my iron play considerably with these. I reccomend the bubble shafts there easy to hit and accurate.

A few months ago i purchased the Firesole irons and have been hitting the ball better than ever, and placing it exactly where i need it to go. So when i was in the market for a driver i decided to check out the Taylor Made. Let me tell you, this driver is GREAT!! I will never buy anything other than a Taylor Made club ever, thats how impressed i am with their products.

An ok club. I was not overly impressed with it when compared to my Adams Tight Lies 7 wood.

I'm not very consistent off the tee, but even I can hit this stick reasonable well. It's extremely forgiving with nearly no loss in distance (10-15 metres)and slight loss in direction (R&B tends to overcompensate) with heel/toe hits.

Ball flight is a bit higher than most 10.5* drivers I've hit, so please note this before testing/buying.

Nice explosive feel make me feel like a hero. Now, if I can get my long irons to do the same ....

Great driver. Some say lack of distance? I hit this driver consistantly over 300. Must just be operator error! Will never buy a different driver. Good job T.M.
