I think this is a great club. I put the 22* in my bag and took out the 3 and 4 irons. I'm not a long hitter but I can get about 180-190 with this club. Club is great from the fairway, the rough, and from the tee. The only problem is the closed face will cause a hook if the ball is too far forward in your stance. Overall a fantastic club that makes the game so much easier.

This club is a dream for someone that has trouble hitting long irons. Distance and flight are amazing. The only recamendation I would give is if you want to replace your 3 iron go with the 4 rescue and so on. They are at leat a club longer then advertised.

This club is super easy to hit. I use this in place of a 2 iron when it isn't windy out and just love it. I would agree that having this club is as close to cheating as you can get. It inspires confidence at setup and impact is crisp no matter where you hit it on the face. One word of caution for those with higher swing speeds...the ball flight is really high...try the TP version if you fly your driver 260+. For this reason, I only use this club when the winds are calm or it gets hung up there fairly easily. Other than that, expect a significant gain in distance over your 2 iron which most people hit well about 2 out of 10 times. Simply the best in class...no comparison.

I have a set of Ping Eye 2s--old style in copper (3-PW)--which I've always liked. And, while I've never had much trouble hitting the longer irons, I've wanted to find a club to fit where my 2 iron ought to be. I won this club in a charity tournament--it definitely fits the bill and does a fine job of it. I find it easier to hit than a typical 5 wood and perfect for use as a 2 iron/5 wood in my set. Easy swings produce long, straight shots, abd trajectory is easily controlled by setup position. The stock shaft (graphite, stiff) is ok if not awe inspiring. But, as has been said before, the grips are not so great. All-in-all, particularly with the old style slightly weaker lofts of my iron set, this club perfectly takes the place of the Ping 2 iron that I never had, and it is far mor versatile for bump and runs and other creative shots. Try before you buy, but definitely try.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made Rescue Fairway #3, Stiff Flex Graphite Shaft

Bought this without demo after hitting a few satisfying rounds with rescue mid #4. As easy to launch the balls as the rescue mid but adds another 30 yards or so probably due to the extra length in shaft and the lower loft. The robust rescue fairway seems more able to take the brute force of my hard swinging style but an easy swing is suffice for a easy launch. Yes, the shaft is shorter than a similar fairway wood and therefore shorter distance. In return the club is more user friendly with easier launches. Have not tried it out in the rough. Mainly use as a driver and on the fairway. Remove my fairway wood since then. Strange there is no review on this club.

Bought it after comparing it with cobra buffler and callaway heavenwood. Bought at 7 pm, went to the range at 9pm and hit 50 balls. "Whoa" is the right describtion. Straight and long like a ruler only have 10 miss hits out of those 50. Went to the course the next morning 5am hit it off the tee on 8th hole, 175 yards par 3 over a lake water hazard. Staright and long. Landed 1 feet from the hole. Got my Birdie, and threw away my 5 wood along with iron 3 and 4. I rest my case.

I've never held a club that was so easy to hit. This club is probably closer to cheating than hot faced drivers or distance balls.

Not bad but I think this whole Hybrid line of clubs is way overrated. The golf companies have created a fith category with the Hybrid; Woods,Irons, putters, wedges and now Hybrids. They want every golfer to buy a Hybrid and put the three iron ( which they have already bought) in the corner. This is not a bad club but my misses are a lot further right or left than my 3 iron. The club face is so hot that if you push or pull it the ball is going hard left or right. If I miss my FTX 3 iron it may feel bad but it is usaully staying on a tight pattern. Also not sure what type of courses you play but I have to have a three iron to punch out of the woods effectively. The rescue gets up to fast for me. I did seem to be able to work the rescue pretty good to my surprise. Not a bad club but I just do not get the hype?

I got a rescue mid for christmas and have only hit it a few times, so I need to hit some more balls with it to give a final review. So far I am not so sure about it. I think my problem with this club is in my head. I hit it like my old 5 wood, which I replaced with this 19* rescue mid, but the shaft is considerably shorter I think. When I have hit it solid, it feels good, but the ball flight is a little low, again it might be my swing. I was suprised when I hit it because I had so much confidence before I hit from all the reviews and the good lucks, but I just topped the heck out of it during a round and have been sluggish to pick it back up. I havent really tried it around the greens or for anything other than out of the fairway, but hopefully when I do it will impress me more.

This is a very useful club. So easy to hit. I had to laugh when I read some of the reviews from supposed "accomplished" players that said they couldn't hit these. Go get a lesson, sounds like you need it. Anyway, greenside bump-n-runs, tee shots, fairway approaches, long par 3's, this club indeed is up to the task. I like the steel version for more control, as it is .5" shorter than the graphite version. The trajectory is nice and high, but the wind never eats it up. I was surprised how easy it is to work the ball as well. Definitely my "Go-To" club. Carry it instead of a 5 wood.
