Tried the 680ti beforehand (not that I can afford it!) which left me in shock. The ball was carrying 250 and rolling near the 300 mark. Then moved to this club... not as long (235 carry), but more consistent. Helping the transition from 3 wood off the tee.

The 3 wood is a wonderful club. The ball flies off the club face and rockets toward the target. Ball flight is ussually a nice medium to low trajectory. I have trouble trying to fade or draw the ball but the club will respond to a normal swing. Overall, a great club and when the driver is not working, this club will step up big time off the tee.

Very good club. It's forgiving, accurate and has better distance than other 3 woods. Highly recommend this stick.

I was cautious regarding buying some woods as I am fairly new to the game. But after demoing many woods, the Supersteel 5 wood with the steel shaft was by far the best. The wieght is spot on with the size and finish being exactly what I wanted to inspire confidence in me when attempting shots. I have yet to do the club full justice but I can even hit it reliably off the fairway and out of semi-rough. A sound club, so much I have a 7 wood on order.

Great club, long off the tee and straight! 300+ yards and 75% fairway. Tried other steel clubs and nothing is comparable. Also a beautiful club all around

Model Reviewed: Supersteel 3 wood R-80 Rifle

I got a supersteel 5 wood earlier this year with the bubble shaft and love it. I had an Orlimar Trimetal Driver and 3 wood but was inconsistent with them. I traded them in, got the Supersteel 3 wood and I'm much more consistent now, averaging 260 off the tee. This club inspires confidence at address since it's so accurate and forgiving. I was willing to give up distance for accuracy but I didn't have to, it's still plenty long. I may have to try the driver now! Seems like a toss up on the shafts. I like the bubble on the 5 wood, but seem to prefer the Rifle on the 3. Either way it's a great club at a low price.

I extended the shafts 1/2 inch for each club. The added lenghth and swingweight is absoulutely perfect for me! I now have the perfect set of metal woods!

Model Reviewed: TaylorMade SuperSteel 9.5* S-90 Steel & Graphite

Initially bought the club with the S-90 graphite shaft but I
disliked the bubble shaft so much (flight too high, weak and unpredictable)
that I traded it for the steel shaft. Found the steel shaft more accurate
and better weighted (its actually light for a steel shafted club). The
shaft is shorter than most (43.5") but this suits my swing and should get
you onto the short grass more often than the graphite (and you wont lose
much distance either vs. the graphite). The head feels very powerful.
Overall the club is excellent, unbelievably easy to hit and when you catch
the sweetspot sit back and watch the ball fly 270+. Sound is great off a
sweetspot strike but a little dull off mis-hits. Only downside is the size
of the head-its smaller than the titanium drivers. Don't touch the
graphite; get the steel instead, your card will thank you for it!!!

This is one of the most solid clubs I've played off the tee... although I'm not a fan of the bubble shaft (seems to hit it on a really high and week flight) the head feels awesome and I'm confident that when I get a new shaft in it it will be awesome. Love the ORANGE head! sweet sauce.

Although I have experienced a minimal loss in distance, the shorter shaft has improved my control. This club also is more forgiving than my previos titanium driver. I am hitting more fairways with this driver. If you are having trouble controlling your 45" driver, you should give this club a try.
