Excellent club! has the ZT XLT-70 regular graphite shaft. Nice feel "0" offset swing weight at D4. This club has a deep face with a dual weight "sole" weighting system. Sets up well, and with an easy swing flies down the middle. Not a tinny sound nor a muffled sound (this newer edition does not have the foam fill) I''m not a long ball hitter but every shot was down the middle, about ten yards longer then my ZT Crown Jewel Fairway 3 wood. Interesting comparison. The Crown Jewel has a deeper face with a noticeable offset 0.5 closed. You can really notice the offset when eyeing the clubs side by side. The Fairway master has neglibible offset if any. The CJ has the ZT Power 65 regular Shaft and the CJ has a swingweight of a D8. Both shafts seem to give the same amount of feedback, and with their low torque, do not penalize you for the miss-hits. Because the of the CJ''s offset the ball seems to always want to fade, starts left then to center of the fairway. The Fairway master starts out straight and mainains the trajectory. It''s almost like I want to carry both clubs in my bag. The CJ for the thicker lies because of the deeper face and the Fairway master because of the straightness and smooth feel from the deck. Excellent Clubs for the value.

Very forgiving clubs and easy to hit. I had them built with the Pro Force 65 shafts and they were so nice. It may be even better if the sound can be crisper.

Incredible clubs. Handsome in a simple way. Very easy to hit. The Power 65 shaft is so stable that it invites you to go after your shots. And the distance is just remarkable. Best woods I've ever played.

The price is too good to be true.

Just an update to my earlier review:

I bought a couple of Fairway Master woods from John at Zero Tolerance Golf. These had the new Power 55 graphite shafts in them. After a couple of extended sessions at the practice tee learning how to hit them (they are very, very different from my Hookeyes!), I used them yesterday to post my best round ever, a 90. Now, I had my short game working too (pitching well, only 3-putted 1 green), but the real diffence was the FM's. These babies are long! And straight! I wanted to mention this, because in the midst of all the hoopla over the ZT Spectra and Maxima drivers, it would be easy to overlook these beauties. I hit them 20 or 30 yards longer than my Hawk Eyes, and if I put a smooth, easy swing on them, they go right where I point them (I need to work some on my pointing, however). Fairway Masters are the real deal, and I'm hoping ZT Golf will offer a matching driver.

Customer Service

Great service. John really works hard for his customers, including re-shafting where appropriate

I have the 13 and 19 deg with PF 75 reg shafts. Great clubs - easy to hit solid and the ball goes amazingly straight - difficult to shape shots though.

Swapped from a Tight Lies 16 deg with reg steel shaft. The difference is night and day. These clubs track very nicely and you know you're going to hit a good shot.

Well done.

Fabulous fairway woods. If you like low profile woods you have to try these. I used ZT's Power 65 shaft and it was a perfect match for the head. The feel and balance were just right. These are very easy to hit and very long. They have replaced my Orlimar Plus woods, and that was a tough task given how well I like the Orlimar's. The Fairway Masters are a terrific FW at an unbeatable price.

Model Reviewed: Fairway Master 3 wood, 13 deg.

A very unassuming FW. The looks and sound of it would suggest someone not caring too much about impressing anyone. It's not ugly, just a little different (the head, front to back is longer than "normal"). The sound it makes is like hitting a metal cable.

But it's very, very, very effective and easy to hit. I almost feel quilty because it's so easy. It would be my go to FW, if I didnt need just a little more distance to try for par 5's (a 13 deg. Quadpro currently in the bag)

I am going to keep it for when my swing needs help & I might try a UST PF75 to see if it'll give any more distance.

You might be more impressed with other's looks, but cant go wrong here.

Model Reviewed: 15* Fairway Master with 6.0 Rifle

Facts on me:
Handicap – 11.8
Age – 29
Weight – 185
Height – 5’ 9”
Swing Tendencies – Play the straight ball, but usually can fade the ball on command. Can only hit a draw about 20% of the times I try. When I miss though, it is usually big ugly hooks undoubted caused by the over the top swing or blocks caused by severe lack of timing.
Swing Speed – Average of 107mph, but the last time I checked it varied from 102-118 in 20 swings.

Specs – 15* Fairway Master with Rifle 6.0.

Appearance – The Fairway Master has a light gray metallic finish which is very attractive. I didn’t especially care for the look the face. The gold ‘Z’ on the sweetspot just didn’t seem to have the same class as the rest of the club. The head is low profile and looks very easy to hit off of the fairway or in light rough.

Performance – I have been to the range with this club twice and played one full round. I found that club performed fairly well, but was not better than my current three wood. Trajectory was mid-high and the balls landed soft as I would want in a fairway wood. I was not able to work the ball at all though. This may be a good thing for many people looking for great forgiveness in a three wood, but unless I put an extremely exaggerated swing on the club, it would go straight every time. So forgiveness is very good and I found it easy to hit off of the tee and the fairway. It is a solid club, but a littler shorter than my current three wood and just a little harder to hit out of a fairway lie. The Fairway Master will take a solid footing as my second bag three wood.

Feeling – The club feels a little heavy, I didn’t swing weight it, but I’m going to guess D-5 to D-8. This doesn’t really bother me, but some people may find it a little too heavy. I think it would be great on courses with a lot of hardpan type lies. Impact feeling is very muted and it is hard to tell when you hit the sweet spot.

Model Reviewed: 13 & 16 degree zero tolerance fairway master

I purchased both the 13 and 16 degree. I have hit lots of fairway woods and was looking for a maraging club. I put grafalloy prolite stiff flex shafts in them. These clubs hit long and straight with very little effort. The ball rockets off the face. Needless to say I am very pleased with them. After playing them for a few weeks the first thing I did was call and asked if they made a driver.

I wasn't sure whether or not to buy this club, but my current fairway woods were giving me trouble, so I figured, why not? Boy, am I glad I got this 3-wood equivalent! It's heft and shape inspires confidence. After I got used to the shallow face, I was drilling the ball 20 yards longer than I hit my Hawkeye 3 wood. In fact, I drove the ball through some greens because I wasn't used to hitting a 3 wood that far, especially off the deck. The trick with this club is to put a smooth swing on it and let the ball get in the way. The few times I over swung, the weight of the head pulled it inside and I hit off the toe. But when I swung 80% with good tempo, the ball shot off the club face with a low, boring trajectory. I suspect I will replace all my fairway woods with these clubs, they really are that good.

Customer Service

John at ZT Golf recommended the shaft for this club based on the specs I gave him, and fitted me very well.
