It`s been a long time since I`ve written a review here, but these are worth the effort. First off, for those who say - these are good for the money - sorry, these are good - period. The perception of Adams as a producer of mid-level equipment is out-dated and flawed - Adams offers some of the finest equipment on the market, and these clubs are a perfect example of that.

Looks - these clubs are sharp looking - classy and clean. I don`t know how they`ll look after a year of play, but theyèr impressive looking when new. At address, they look very nice - not chunky, not fat, not much offset - they inspire confidence without looking too GI.

Feel - not the softest feeling forgigs I`ve hit - nowhere near a MP-60 or my old Hogan FTX`s, but they are much more rewarding on my screw-ups, which is more important to me. They transmit more feel than any cast club I`ve ever swung.

Performance - I don`t do much shot-shaping - I like to hit irons straight with some back-spin on the short irons - these deliver. The hybrids are cannons - not as long as the Rescue TP`s in the same lofts, but not far off. I may reshaft them with Fubukis and see how things go. Even if I drop the hybrids and replace them with something else I will keep the irons in the bag. The clubs are consistent.

Distance - I would typically discuss this under performance, but with this set I feel it needs to addressed alone. Many have commented on the increased length they get off these irons - I would tend to agree and the reason for that increase is simple - they are about a club strong in loft. The pitching wedge for this set has a 45* loft - that is nuts. I don`t kniow if this is done to dupe people into thinking they`re magic wands or something, but I don`t understand the approach - perhaps they`re trying to make up for the hybrid sales in wedge sales - lol. In any case, the 50* gap wedge is next to impossible to find, so you may as well toss in a 50* of your favorite brand. I love Vokey SM, and I like a 48 spread, so it sets up well with my 54* and 58* Vokeys.

Overall - a a very nice set of clubs. I got mine brand new for around $200 after trying them a few times, and would have to consider them the best money I`ve spent on golf equipment yet - compared to what I paid for my first two sets of forged irons I would have happily paid as much for these, even though I`m happy I didnt.

Haven`t needed for clubs, but Adamsgolf.ca was very helpful on other issues.

Bought these clubs about 4 months ago because I wanted something more forgiving but still forged for looks & feedback. And I can honestly say that they have way surpassed my best expectation.
I have 5- pw fitted with tt dg sl steel stiff & at 105 grammes they are just right , I love them ,very consistent & the trajectory is perfect.
Also I have 3 hybrids 2, 3, & 4, & like the irons I couldnt be happier, the shafts are Mitsubishi rayon javln( the blue ones)s flex & they are awesome , I had the A3 boxer before these & always it faded right even after re shafting ,but with these if any thing I have to watch I don't over do the draw.
The irons look beautifull & are well made & they hit just great,& like the other reviewers have said forgiving, in fact I find these clubs easier to hit than most "game improvement clubs".
My previous irons were Maxfli A-10 tour ltd & I never thought I would replace them with a club as noticeably better than those.
If you can find a set try them you wont be disapointed.

I was a Mizuno devotee! If it wasn't Mizuno I wasn't interested. The good looks, reputation, and the soft feel had me addicted. And then one morning I realized I was old and fat and the Mizunos (MP-60's) that were in the bag magnified this sad state of affairs.
I knew it was time to go hunt an alternative. Of course, I headed straight to the Mizuno section to hit their latest incarnation of greatness.
Luckily for me the Adams selection was near enough to catch my eyes as well.
I hit the Mizuno MP 58's. Great feel and look. Then I hit the A4's! Wow! Great feel, set up, and hybrids too!
These clubs go up, down, left, right, and if you miss hit it a little they don't miss by much. Did I mention long? Silly long! As much as one club longer than any other club I have owned or hit.
These clubs have restored my waning confidence by being easy to hit and consistently accurate.
The hybrids are just as good as the irons. Long and straight if desired and workable too.
I am now a reformed Mizuno junkie! My new golf drug is Adams!
These clubs are for the low to mid handicap player looking for feel, distance, accuracy, and workability.
They don't know I am old and fat.

I would classify myself as another "Club Ho" that will constantly try to "buy" himself a good game. I have tried many different sets of clubs in the quest to find the answer. McGregors, Titliest, Wilson, Ping, just to name a few.

Last year, I went out and bought a set of Adams A4 Forged irons and fell in love with them. The combination of feel, distance, looks, and workability was spectacular. Some of my best rounds came in those first few months of ownership.

Then, my 53 year old swing began to remember the bad habits and my scores sort of went up a bit. Thinking that I "needed new clubs", I went out and bought a set of Wilson CI9's. Nice enough, but not the answer. Then, when a friend came up and wanted to play a round, I let him use the Wilsons and I went back to the Adams A4's. It did not take long for me to remember why I had bought them in the first place. I went out and shot a 74 with only one bad shot that went in the drink (it happens) and was very happy with that score. The Adams A4's are back in my bag to stay. All you have to remember is swing easy and it will go hard!

This is a great set of clubs for the money for the better than hacker player. I shoot low 80s from the back tees. I decided to change to all graphite shafts to ease tendinitis and I feel I've lost nothing in the switch. When you hit em sweet they go long and high with lots of back spin. The kind of trajectory your friends compliment even b4 it hits the green. You know when you hit it on the toe but you still close or on the green. Good distance progression from 5i to 4h, and the 3i is long enough to drop the 5 metal and add a wedge. My elbows are less painful and I'm playing better golf.

I've never written a critique of golf equipment. But, after owning the Adams A4 irons for a couple of weeks I felt compelled. My previous set of irons were Mizuno MP-60s and before that I played Taylormade R7 TP irons. Even though both of those sets were nice, I prefer the Adams A4s. They have the same soft buttery feel as the Mizunos on well struck shots, but the real difference between these irons is on off-center hits. The Adams irons were far more forgiving than the Mizunos. They have a nice clean look at address, with a reasonably thin top line. The 3 and 4 hybrids are far easier to hit than 3 and 4 irons. After only 4 rounds with these irons I already feel an increased level of confidence. These Adams A4s are the best irons I've ever owned. I hope the guys in my Nassau don't buy these! LOL

Bought the A4 Irons with the satin finish and all I can say is that these are an awesome set of clubs. I went to buy the new Mizuno 58's and hit these side by side for almost 2 hours and brought the Adams home with me and have no regrets. Workable and a great feel.

Awesome set of clubs. I recently had a set of Mizuno Mx-900s, but my dad wanted an upgrade so I gave him those and picked these up. They are a much better iron. Just as forgiving but set up, and look better. Also hit a club length farther than the Mx-900s and the hybrids are great! Same forged feel, but a little more response. All in all great clubs, I don't think I'll be buying another set for a few years. Adams did a great job on these.

Also the sole really helps for my occassional fat shots. Doesn't dig too bad.

I have played Hogan Apex blades for nearly 10 years and have loved them. Now by reading this you would think, why would he change if they are so good? Right? I have hit them well but like most blades if you don't you will not only pay in distance but they will let you know. I also wanted a different shaft. The Hogan's have a rifle 6.0 which is now a little too stiff. I tried most of the clubs listed in the other reviews and really liked the feel of the A4's. They were really solid and I have been a club longer than with the Hogan's. I also noticed that you don't see many pro's playing blades anymore. If they are not playing them what the heck am I doing? Anyway the A4's are a really nice club. They set-up well and are workable. Don't forget to get fitted. That is as important as the clubs you buy. Good luck
