I just purchased a new set of hogan apex ftx irons, and used them for the first time on the course the other day. These clubs are dead accurate, when shotting over a 35-40 ft tree,60-100 yrds out using an 8 iron, not only did I hit the green with little effort but the ball stopped ona dime.I have no problem hitting the sweet spot and they feel great. The pw is alittle hard to get used to,but that will come around,I expect great things from these clubs this year, goodluck on the links dano.

The whole set just looks awesome for the better player, the dessign is great, with minimal offset and thin top line. The forged clubheads feel great when hit crisp, but also wear off quickly, as the material is pretty soft.
I especially like the short and middle irons, which have a true boring trajectory, and are not hard to hit; and the fact that you can really shape your shots with these clubs. It's a lot easier to hit a low penetrating shot with, let's say, a 5-iron, than it was with my old clubs (Callaway X16ProSeries).
What I don't like much is the distance control you get with middle and long irons. Overall distance is fine, but there's a big difference when you hit it normal and when you hit it really crisp, so you often hit it past the flagstick when struck great. Also I find it pretty hard to hit the long irons (3&4) consistently, especially from the fairway or, even worse, from the rough; the trajectory is a bit too low (some swing speed is needed here!) and, if you miss the centre of the face a bit, the results aren't good.
Overall, they are great clubs for the better player who keeps his swing fine-tuned. Now that are on sale, you won't find many products with these quality and performance for that price.

FANTASTIC SOFT FORGED IRONS FEEL LIKE BUTTER WHEN HIT WELL,FORGIVING WHEN A LITTLE OFF CENTRE. CLIMBING TRAJECTORY AND DROP AND STOP REMINISCENT OF THE OLD LETTERS MASTER MODEL BLADES(MY RESERVE SET.) SO GOOD, I HAVE TWO SETS, ONE TO KEEP IN SPAIN. BEAUTIFUL LOOKING IRONS BUT MORE FORGIVING THAN BLADES. DON,T BUY THEM IF YOU ARE A HIGH HANDICAPPER AND NEED CAVITY IRONS. DO BUY THEM IF YOU WANT TO WORK AT YOUR SWING AND IMPROVE. I NOTICE NEW MODELS BY CALLAWAY AND OTHERS ARE NOW COPYING THESE - MORE EVIDENCE NEEDED? SUITS UPPER SINGLE FIGURE PLAYERS OR THOSE ASPIRING TO BE.I'M OFF 7 BUTOUR 1 HANDICAPPER (350 YD DRIVES )ALSO USES THEM. THE ACCURACY OF THESE IRONS IS PHENOMENAL, WHETHER HIT STRAIGHT, DRAW OR FADE.HIT'EM HIGH OR LOW AND SEE THE AMAZING BLADE-LIKE SOARING TRAJECTORY JUST LIKE THE PROS DO.

I moved to the BH FTX's from a set of BH Apex Plus (which I still use as my set of "Florida" clubs) as I wanted the blade in the lower irons but not the higher ones and the FTX's fit the bill. My game went from the high 80's to the low 80's with the Apex's, and now with these FTX's I get so much more feel with the 8-PW. I also have a set of BH Riviera wedges (50 and 56) to complement my irons and my short game is spot on because of the incredible feel. Thus my score continues to trend downward. I will say that these irons are not for over 10 handicappers. But then again what the heck do I know. It's not like I'm a touring pro or a certified teacher. I should just stick to the review. They let you know when you mis hit a shot. But if you consistently can hit the middle of the club, you can work the ball both ways with these with ease.

These irons are great. A little hard to hit with the minimal offset but if you are a 6 handicap or lower, I recommend it. Great feel and shot shaping capabilities.

I am a first year golfer that learned with Hogan Radial forged irons. Once I was able to strike them with consistency I decided to upgrade to newer technology.

I immediately noticed that the progressive cavity back on the FTX irons keeps mis-hit shots relatively straight and long. This makes a difference especially when using the harder to hit 3 and 4 irons. Well struck shots feel nothing short of spectacular.

Golfers that struggle with putting spin on the ball should find these to be a nice fit as well. I have found that I can even get shots to stick with my 5 iron.

Overall great looking, great performing club. I have taken 10 strokes off since purchasing these clubs and shot a round best of 84. I recommend these to any decent, consistent ball striker.
