Callaway X-12 Irons

Callaway X-12 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The 1998 Big Bertha Irons feature all of the game-enhancing characteristics of the Great Big Bertha Titanium irons in a stainless steel head. The sweet-spot of the club has been increased over the standard Big Bertha iron. The weight has been re-distributed around the club and the center-of-gravity has been lowered to create a more heel-and-toe balanced iron. The top line has also been thinned to make this the most playable club Callaway has ever created. (Price for 3-PW Steel Shaft)

These sticks are very easy to work and very soft. They suit all levels of ability and fly high and on line when struck half decently.

These are sweet irons. Easy to work the ball and plenty of distance. About the same distance as my original Big Berthas but much more accurate. I have a CW Rifle shafts stiff flex - very nice - much better feel than the Callaway graphite shafts. Wouldn't bother buying the LW or SW, tho.

Customer Service

Very responsive - much better than Cobra

Used these clubs with the RCH graphite shaft and they were a hooking machine. Probably due to the offset in the design. Good shots were long but I tended to hook every shot of any length with them.

Cannot find the clubface. Hard to believe, but everything goes right. Some drift some go hard right. These confessions, mind you from someone who drwas everything. Frustrating...maybe it's the rifle shaft?

Man these clubs are easy to hit!! Played a few rounds with a demo set and they are long, solid and true - a pleasure!! Too bad they (and the rest of Callaway clubs) are so darn expensive. I'll be looking to purchase a used pair.

What a great club!!!!!!
The X-12 ProSeries is SO much better then the "standard" X-12.
Put in a TT Sensicore 300 s -shaft and put on a smile that wouldn´t go away--for a very long time.
Outstanding!!!

Well, gave these clubs a quite glowing review a week ago or so. Last time I wrote my review much based on first impression, without trying out the full potential of the clubs. After playing a few rounds with em I am totally dissapointed and im going to send them back. First of all they have no feel at all. The blades are so thick, they almost feel like hitting with showels. And it's hard to feel a good shot, or a bad one. U can't get that sweetspot feeling Im looking for. Well, they are quite easy to hit though, but Im not a believer in "game improvement" clubs, so I wouldn't say that they will help your game to a new level. If u have a good swing u can hit any clubs out there on the market...
well, im glad I got money back guarantee, because Im going to use it..Mizuno Comp EZ will be my next target..

Well, first of all i belive I got these clubs for a bargain. For 400$ i got 3-9 and also two tour series wedges which now make my intire set complete. My first impression was that they felt really solid and the weight was distrubuted to the right place- the head. Even though I have them with true temper regular steel shafts they aren't much heavier then my old graphite clubs and I like that. After hitting a few shots down on the range In really cold rainy wheater (were talking the north of sweden) I felt that this was the right club for me. It gives me the confidence that allows me to probably get most out of my swing. So I havent had any dissapointments yet, but Im going to take them out on the course for a round tomorrow in approx. 3 degress celsius and a little rain. Then I'll see if my first impressions will last.

Great clubs, not always pretty to look at compared to pro standards, but easy to get the ball in the air. Straight, not overly off-set. Nice balance and feel with the Memphis shafts. Good club, but a little expensive.
