Excellent Irons. I find these irons very workable. This iron works great for me with the callaway tour stiff steel shaft. The feel on these irons and their accuracy is great. Always played forged before.I don't beleive I added any more distance switching to these but the confidence is there because of the accuracy and workability. I have been using since they came out and would recommend but as usual demo some first.

I am still a beginner, but after using my friends I had to purchase these irons. Do not let the "Pro" fool you. I can tell you first hand you do not need to be a pro to use these. I have increased my distance AND accuracy. I can even hit the lower 3 and 4 irons. I suggest you get these now. I will eventually upgrade to the x-18 pros, they are just a little too pricey right now. I found these used (look new) 3-PW + GW and SW for $450 after shipping on EBAY.

I found these irons to have a somewhat dead feel to them. I play Mp 30's with S300 shafts and hit my 8 iron 148 yards on avg. I was hoping to get an extra 3-5 yards from the X 16 Pro Series as I am in between clubs at the 150 mark. In fact, I lost 5 yards with them. I gave them a shot down in Myrtle Beach over 10 days and 20 golf courses and I found them to be disappointing. I immediately put the MP 30's back in the bag once I got home and will put the X16 Pro's up for sale. Not the right irons for me. Very little if any wow factor. In this case forged wins out.

Have been playing with these irons for about a year. Handicap had dropped from 12 to 7. Not all because of the irons but my ironplay has been more consistent. Very forgiving, beautiful feel and good distance. They are somewhat strong so a gap wedge is needed. They have a very nice look to them at address with only a hint of offset. Highly recommended.

Model Reviewed: X-16 Pro Series w/ Nippon 850 steel shafts

I have been using these clubs for about a year now: previously had the MP-33s. I used to be a Callaway iron basher because I hated the way they looked. However, the X-16 pros look decent with minimal offset and a short heel to toe length. Although I love the MP-33s, they are very punishing on mis-hits: lose a ton of distance. After playing a few rounds with the X-16s, I suddenly decided that they looked pretty good after-all...played great with them. I have not looked back since and a year later I think these clubs look beautiful...:) The Maltby Playability factor for this club is about as high as you can get and yes you can shape the ball with the club. Interestingly, they have a soft feel...and scratch easily:) I love the Nippon steel shafts which are as light as graphite but play like steel. PS. I think the guy who wrote the previous review was having a bad week...there is not much difference between the X-16 and X-14...the X-16s look better imho

These are the worst irons I have ever owned. They are big, bulky, and have no feel to them at all. I owned a set of the X-14's previously and really liked them. Thought these would be at least on par with those. Very difficult to get through rough, and at least 5 yds shorter than the X-14's.

After spending last season with a set of 2003 Big Bertha's, I couldn't figure out where my distance had gone. I figured it would come around, but just never did. But, I never got tired of shot after shot of straight darts. I figured i'd try out a set of X-16's, with my success with the BB's, I couldn't go wrong. How right I was. These irons deliver amazing results. I've gained at least 8-10 yards from PW-7 iron, and almost 15 from 6-3 iron. I'm using the S300 shafts, which allow me to totally attack these irons and put monsterous spin on the ball. From basket one at the range, it's been nothing but 3 yard draws with these irons, almost no sign of a slice or even a push. These irons are the real deal. The pro series allow the better golfer to work the ball a little more, but Callaway has definitely hit the nail on the head with the X-16.

Customer Service

Callaway golf, 10/10. Callaway Pre-Owned, 7 out of 10. I've had great service from them, and terrible service from them. I just averaged the two.

!!!!!WOW!!!! AWSOME!!!! I have tryied everything this year on replacing my set of Mizuno Sure's. Callaway Hawkeyes to big on the bottom, also Ping ISI just couldnt match up consistency, and lets not forget the horror of the Nike Slingshot irons of I have no feel no sense of how to make a quality club. Then the light in my head went on and I purchased CALLAWAY X-16 PRO SERIES all I have to say is this is a amazing set of irons. I have the rifle tour stiff shafts in them and it is by far the best set of irons you can buy if you are a decent handicap awsome feel, great forgivness, and the feel of pureness at the address of the ball when these are in your hands. So if you are looking for a great set of blades just dont try these """BUY THESE IRONS""" YOU WILL THANK ME IF YOU READ THIS REVIEW. ONCE AGAIN THESE CLUBS ARE PURE MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIFLE SHAFTS WITH CONSTANT WEIGHT AND YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THE ROUNDS YOU WILL HAVE. GOOD LUCK HOPE THIS WAS ACCURATE FOR YOU.

These irons are great. Always have been a Callaway wood fan but was skeptical about irons because I heard their bulky topline was a distraction. Had been using Titleist 962s until last month when I got the X-16s 4-p as a gift. Shot in 70s for the first time. Worth a try if you're looking for something new.
