Cleveland CG2 Irons

Cleveland CG2 Irons

DESCRIPTION

These new irons were specifically designed for the avid golfer and are ideal for the low to mid-handicapper searching for a club with the forgiveness of a cavity-back and the workability of a blade. These perimeter-weighted irons, made from Carbon Metal Matrix (CMM), have a small cavity-back design which offers increased control along with added forgiveness. The design of the CG2’s combined with revolutionary low-density properties of CMM have helped engineers at Cleveland Golf create irons with both increased MOI for extra stability at impact as well as a lower and deeper CG which helps promote a higher ball flight. The density relieving spheres within CMM also help dramatically damp vibration making the CG2 irons one of the most forgiving and solid feeling irons.

It is a perfect club between blade and "typical" CB. It has the nice "thin" topline and blade-like profile, it gives the soft feel and feedback, it allows decent workability and good distance, it's quite forgiving, and it's a steal at the current price.

I used to play with a Titleist forged blade, loved its "thin" profile and soft feel. I switched to this CG2 becasue I didn't played much for 2 years, so "downgraded" to a less demanding one.

I picked up my CG2's on ebay for 249 new... Previously playing the CG4's, these new clubs have proven that Cleveland is making solid irons that are up there with all makers. They are very forgiving for the head design, they have a good ball flight and ball spin is amazing with them.

If you are looking for an iron to replace your game improvement set, try these. For the price you can't go wrong, and you'll be happy with your decision.

Happy Pin-seeking...

I have bought CG2 irons with Dynamic Gold S 300 shafts one year ago. They are beautifully shaped, very soft in feel, forgiving, and very reasonable in price. I think I am 10-15 yards longer now and I think they have the tendency to draw. Especially the long irons are well-balanced and very easy to hit. I wish I could try them with the Rifle Project x 5.5 or 6.0 shafts to compare. Excellent irons, easy to handle, easy to play for low-mid handicappers.

Have played these irons several times now and they are a very solid club. Fairly forgiving considering it's a "player's cavity". Great sticks.

By far the most forgiving and workable irons I have ever played with. I have played with Hogan Apex Grind irons for 14 years now. These sticks blow them away! I was very hesitant about switching away from a forged blade iron, but these clubs have a beautiful setup at address. The heads aren't big and lanky like some of the irons on the market now. I cant say enough about them, just very pleased with the results I have gotten so far.

Hard to beat the prices now on these sticks. I've had them out to the range twice now and am impressed with them so far. They actually have a fair amount of forgiveness on mis-hits. Can work them right, left, high or low. A good looking club. Can't wait to get them on the course.

I have been trying to find a replacement for my old TA3 irons. I've tried a number of different iron sets and finally bought a used set of CG2's off Ebay. Wow! What an easy balanced iron to hit. These things are long, I bought the stock Cleveland stiff shaft and the ball really goes. I'm a half a club longer. Which at age 56 is a good thing for me. Add to that my new Cleveland HiBore XL driver and I'm right out there with the young guys. Now if I can sink some putts..
Overall these irons are really easy to hit, go straight and are very predictable. Also they are a real value on EBAY. These will stay in my bag for a long time.

The irons are great. If you have the time to practice, and develop a feel for these, you cannot go wrong. I hit them spectacular. Ever since i purchased then, my scores have dropped. Even though they are somewhat challenging to hit, they are sweet. Recently i played with another high school student that had the same CG2 irons. Of course he didnt hit them as well as me, but his ball striking for a bad swing was really swell.I miss him and his dong.

I have now played with this set of irons for about 3 months and I am quite pleased. Super soft metal makes them feel almost soft enough to bend with your bare hands. Distance is about average and height is a bit above average even with the Dynamic Gold S300 shafts. Quite forgiving but still workable. At a greatly discounted price, one of the best iron deals in the market period.

Bought these irons recently off Ebay fo $300 brand new. I have found the accuracy that they bring abolutely overwhelming. However i aj yet to really adjust to them, i have played 4 round with them and i seem to be losing the ball left a lot. I have also lost about half a club to my mizuno comp ct irons. I am 15 and i play off 9 and i pride myself on my solid ball striking so i am sure that both distance and accuracy will increase with due time.

I would say if you are looking to upgrade from a game improvement or beginner set these irons are absolutely ideal. After a while you will have the ball flying right on line.
