Cleveland HiBore Irons

Cleveland HiBore Irons

DESCRIPTION

The new Cleveland HiBore irons. 3-PW set with a large club face, and an even larger back. The clubs look a bit unusual at address, but really hit the ball well. They have a nice soft pop on contact and whether heel, toe, or sweetspot, shots eem to always go straight. I havent been able to get them out on the range or course since its been in the 30's lately here, but as far as feel goes they're great. If your in the market for a set of super game improvement clubs you owe it to yourself to check these out. They are very similar feeling to the Nike Slingshot OSS in my opinion.
Cant comment on distance as of yet, but Im more focused on getting a clean straight shot anyways. Its a great time to be in the market for a set of irons as a mid to high handicapper. SO MUCH to choose from.
These can be had for $599 in steel almost anywhere, some places a bit cheaper.

I played 30 rounds with the Hi Bores.I loved the 3,4,5 and 6. I found the 7-PW very hard to control.I felt better setting up for a 170 shot than 120 shot. The 9 and PW could only be hit with a full swing and I still seems to pull a lot of them.

I have been playing golf for just over two years, and as a 'mature' golfer have really struggled to get any consistency, or lower my handicap.

I have just bought a set of HiBores (3 to PW) and tried them once on the range before they replaced the Big Bertha irons in my bag.

I really appreciate how the address is more or less identical for every iron, and if I hit them slowly, I can achieve distance and direction with little effort.
I am not hitting them much further than the Big Berthas, but in the two rounds I have played in two days, I am feeling more confident and pulling off shots where I would normally lay up.

I don't get the height on the low irons, but maybe that's the way I am hitting them.

Bought them in the club house sale and they were excellent value for money.

WOW! I have played all the clubs in my 20 years but these clubs are...well, WOW! First and 2nd time out didn't think I made a wise purchase but then after reading reviews here...I realized I had to slow down and what a difference that made. I have never been able to hit a 3 iron but am 180 yrds with this one. I ordered the SW and now the 1i. All hit straight and I had 2up with my pings. These are flat and a nice tempo swing "gets 'er done"!

Im 12 and these clubs helped boost my confidence. I was playing Ping G5 with graphite shafts and they were too whippy and I couldn't hit the 4,5 iron. These clubs are easy to hit and i've gone down 1 or 2 clubs. I can hit the 8 iron 150+ yds where i could barely hit my old 7 iron that far. Also, the long hybrids are easy to hit. I can hit the 3 hybrid 220+ yards easy.

Model Reviewed: HiBore 3 thru PW

I recently bought a set of the BiBore irons. 3 thru PW. I went for the regular graphite shafts as I could no longer play the tour blades with stiff shafts due to shoulder surgery. The HiBore clubs have given me new life. They hit hard with little effort and are extremely accurate. They have given me back my game. I just wish they offered a SW to complete the set. Also would like a 2 and maybe even a 1 hybrid so I can can the fairway woods.

I am an AVID golf club tinkerer, always trying to find a better club/shaft/ball combination. I bought these irons last season, and immediately liked them, and they complimented my style of play. Well, this season, I dusted off some Callaway Big Berthas, and some Cleveland TA-6's, played a couple of rounds with each set, and guess what....the Hi Bores are back in the bag. My handicap started at 6.4 with the Hi Bores, but went up to 7.7 with the other clubs, so I'm back to these...with one change. I put them on a set of Rifle Flighted shafts, and to me, they are even more stable now. I found the original Cleveland shaft to be a little too "wippy", resulting in either a push fade if the shaft didn't square up, or a nasty pull if it came through the hitting area too fast. I couldn't control the flex of the origianl shaft. The Rifles take all that out of my mind. Step up to the ball, aim the club, pull the trigger, and it goes where I want. A great club. And definitely one club stronger than normal. In fact, I'm thinking about taking the 5 wood out of my bag since I can hit the 3 and 4 irons 220 and 205. The wedge I cannot vouch for since I play the Cleveland series of wedges, I don't use the one in the set.

Customer Service

Bought the clubs at Golf Galaxy, installed the Rifle Shafts myself.

BUY THEM TODAY. I wish I had purchased them a year ago. I have never shot better than 87 prior to today. I shot 82 on my hometown course this morning with my new Hibores. I hit shots with more confidence than I have ever had and was able to hit the ball where I wanted to time after time. GREAT IRONS!

These clubs are absolutely amazing. It is hard to believe that a club alone would help you drop strokes from your game. On average I am hitting at least one club stronger with these. And from 150-170 yards out, I am able to plop the ball right on the green and the ball sticks! The clubs are very forgiving, and even a bad shot is still a decent shot to play from. The grips are very comfortable, and the clubs are very easy to swing.

My first 18 I played with them, I dropped 9 strokes off of my usual game. These clubs not only help you play better, but add confidence!

Customer Service

I supported my local pro golf shop, and was able to get the best customer service. I went to Manassas Golf in Manassas VA.
