Strength:

I guess I'm provincial enough to think that their grips (with alignment lines) should be square with the leading edge of the clubface when you're shelling out $700 for a set of irons; and that you shouldn't have to roll the club to hit a straight shot. - San Diego Mobile Truck Repair

Weakness:

None so far.

Nobody had commented on these for awhile so I thought I would chime in. I'm a bogey golfer. These are long and forgiving. They are easy to hit. They give you a bit of a draw. This is a great club for mid to high handicappers. These have helped me into the upper 80's due to their consistent distance and ball flight. If you see these used, they are still great irons. I do have a newer driver and fairway woods but personally doubt the improvements made to newer irons with their juiced lofts.

I like the look of the Launcher irons and they have a great feel when struck. However at the point of purchase, the test swings were into a screen and when I played the irons out on the course I noticed a definite tendency to pull left; which is not all that unusual since I have a natural draw. Except, that on closer inspection, I noticed that the grips & shafts are installed with a closed leading edge for the whole set. I guess I'm provincial enough to think that their grips (with alignment lines) should be square with the leading edge of the clubface when you're shelling out $700 for a set of irons; and that you shouldn't have to roll the club to hit a straight shot. Just something to keep in mind when looking at these irons - it may or may not be something that bothers you; but they do have a nice feel.

I learned to play golf with these irons, and they really helped me not only to learn the game, but to improve it as well. I used them for almost three years and I was pretty happy with them. They are very easy to hit. However, these clubs seem to be designed for shorter distances than other comparable irons. I am not a strong hitter, but I hit 165 yards with a 7 iron of my new Callaway set, and that's what I used to hit with a 6 cleveland. The ball flight is also very different. With these irons I could not get the ball to elevate properly. I did not know that until I tried other brands. Anyway, the bottom line is that these are good irons for beginners, that can be found at a fairly low price.

I purchased the Cleveland launcher LP's as step up club from a generic set from Target. I basically have learned the game with these clubs....What I like most about the launchers is that they, for a cavity back iron, didn't play and feel like super game improvement shovels. Appearance at set up was nice with a not so big top line while the back of the club didn't appear to have to much cavity. The long irons were pretty easy to hit and got the ball up in the air pretty good; I can hit my 4iron 200yrds with a good strike. The short irons get the ball up with a nice loft that lets the ball on the green with the ballistics of a lawn dart...with 8 and 9 iron shots, I have had to repair some pretty deep ball marks on the greens...As far as forgivness was concerned, these irons are pretty forgiving, however, being the low profile model, the club face is slightly smaller than the regular launchers. But, toe hits, and other less that sweet spot contact still resulted in sufficient distance...These clubs are also able to work the ball to a degree, I was able to play a gentle fade without to much of a problem...Overall I was able to learn to play consistently with these club; they did serve their purpose as game improvers for me, I broke 100 and 90 with these clubs...I will be stepping up to a forged muscle back so, I can play off of feel...But for distance, loft, and forgiveness this a very good name brand club for the mid to high handicapper to step up to from a Super game improvemnt iron...This model is discontinued, however, they can still
be found on EBay

I bought these irons brand new and learned how to play golf on them. I played over 50 rounds of golf on these irons and love them. I was able to get the ball in the air easily which was great for a beginner and I think this allowed me to start playing courses sooner than my friends who started playing golf at the same time I did using other higher name brands. I had the shaft replaced on the wedge after a year to the Dynamic Golf D300 true temper shaft and it made the wedge absolutely deadly! It became my favorite club in the bag. I was able to really dial in the shots after that.

I would absolutely recommend these clubs to any beginner who wants to speed up the learning process at the range and start playing courses. I have since switched to Cleveland TA6 irons after I demoed a friends set,(He switched to Berthas as he was unable to hit with the TA6's) and the only reason I did this is because I needed a mid handicapper set of clubs. I also highly recommend the TA6's which provide better distance but are nowhere near as forgiving as the Launcher LP's.

Customer Service

Never had any problems. Awesome clubs out of the box. I would highly recommend replacing shafts as well.

Picked up a Cleveland Launcher D wedge to replace a lost gap wedge for my set of Cleveland CG TA6 irons. The Launcher D wedge is too heavy and too big(face) to give you any control. It controls you. If you don't hit clean shots or can't loft the ball, I suppose it is OK. For me it is real dissapointment. The clubs has a very high MOI, and once you start the down swing, it pretty much takes over. I hit about twenty balls before I could find a way to keep it low enough to cover 100-110 yards (had to deloft and move address far to back in my stance to feel comfortable. The sole is so big, acts more like a sand wedge. I suppose you can get used to it, but for me, it's way to bulky.

I play with Cleveland GC TA6 (R graphite in winter months)and Taylormade Rac OS2 irons (R steel summer months). I average a 9.5 handicap. I needed a Gap wedge for my Cleveland CG set. Came across a D wedge, 50 Degree R flex graphite Launcher. Thought it would fit in. The club is heavy, too heavy to do aything but blast away, the high MOI makes it almost impoosible to shape a shot, and I have to work very hard to keep the altitude down to cover anything over 100yards. I loose at least 10 yards from my RAC OS2 gap wedge. In short if you hit clean shots, this club adds nothing to your game... very dissapointed in the high weight, and loss of swing control (it controls you).

These are the best irons I have ever played with. My first round with these irons was a 2 under 34 on my local 9 hole course. I have read alot of reviews about these being a beginner club, NOT true. I spent 3 hours and hit about every set of irons they had in edwin watts golf store. The launchers were by far the most consistant club i hit.
