I've been golfing for under a year. I started with an Acuity (Dicks Sporting Goods) starter set, then to a Precept set. I just purchased the Cobra's today. After hitting 2 models of TM's and the Cobra's, it was obvious which one to get. The sales guy said they were the most forgiving and he was right. I could tell immediately in the simulator. I just got back from the range and my feelings are the same. These are VERY forgiving clubs and have a super nice feel at impact, even on slightly off shots. I picked mine up from Dicks for $399 and for that price range, I cant complain.
I would still highly recommend trying out more than one type, just to feel the difference, as I did.

I'm a high handicapper. I initially bought a set of Titleist blades / musclebacks. I realized that I was not good enough to use "player's" clubs. So I decided to venture off to the other side of the spectrum and tryout some game improvement irons. I decided to tryout the Cobra 3400 I/XH irons. I was very excited, since there was a lot of buzz about these clubs.

So I traded in my blades for the 3400 I/XH. The golf shop pro did warn me that these clubs are a lot different than what I was hitting (blades). I didn't care, I wasn't hitting my blades, so anything would have been better.

The clubhead is oversized and bulky, but still nice to look at. But what surprised me is the ball flight. Oh my, it felt like I was hitting a set of lob wedges. I guess Cobra was not kidding XH = extra high. I thought I almost lost an ear when the ball zoomed past my head.

Although the ball flight is not to my preference, I do appreciate a few things about these irons. First, Cobra does make it easy to get the ball in the air. Second, the sweet spot on these irons are huge. And third, these irons have great impact dampening technology. I tested a set with stiff, steel shafts. I hit a couple of hundred balls. At the end, I felt no fatigue in my hands or arms.

The only concern I had was the ball flight. I wouldn't play these irons on a windy day. Well, unless you always had the wind at your back.

This was my first set of 'real' clubs, and I got the set on Ebay slightly used (and without the gap wedge) for $250 after a friend of mine recommended them for a beginner. These clubs are almost impossible to hit incorrectly. I stink but these things are definitely confidence inspiring.

Never had to deal with it.

Due to the wide sole, weighting and the regular flex nippon steel shaft, these are by far the easiest hitting irons that I have ever owned. Bought the 4 thru gap wedge. All shots go straight and high with just a smooth swing. I don't concern myself with having to 'work' the ball. I just want to hit 'straight' shots. Got away from swinging stiff shafts and went to regulars. (Should have made that move years ago!) Distance with these irons is on par with anything that's out there now. One more thing about these clubs. A few iron models back, cobra went from using 17-4 stainless steel (hard) in their iron clubheads to using 431 stainless (softer). This change gives the current cobra's a nice feel, even on miss-hits. I consider the money that I plunked down on these, money well spent.

Customer Service

Never had to deal with Cobra ref. service. Then again, I never had to.

I hit these irons and really liked the way they felt. So I decided to buy them. Glad I did. I love the light weight and nice feel they provide. I get a high trajectory and that may cause some loss of distance. I've only played two rounds with them so getting used to wihc club for which distance is still in the works. I'm not one of those "gotta use a 7 iron from 150 yards out", so what ever gets me to the green from the fairway is a winner. the first time I plaed we just did a quick 9 holes. My game fluctuates and hovers around bogie golf. But this day I managed a 44 with these 3400's. Yesterday I went out again for my 2nd trial. The front nine I was on fire and shot a 39. My very first time to break 40 on a side. Then the weheels came off a bit with the putting and I shot my routine 45 for an 84. Very respectable. I can contribute a lot to the clubs and the rest to drives and putts. You need it all! Overall, I'm pleased with my early results. I think the more I use them, the more I will grow to love them. Time will tell

I had a set of Cobra oversized irons before and thought they were just ok. In fact, this set of 3400's is my first set of new irons. The old Cobras were used.

After several months of talking to other players and hitting various irons at local driving ranges, i finally took the plunge and bought the cobra 3400 i/h irons with the steel stiff shafts. there were several reasons i liked them, even over the 3100's which are a bit less expensive. first, i was immediately awed by how well and consistent i was able and am able to hit these clubs. as soon as i was given the club and hit the ball, i knew that i had found the perfect clubs. they feel very solid in my hands and have a very soft "buttery" feel when you make solid contact. second, they are forgiving. in the past, some of my mis-hits would slice well to the right. now, if i miss, it still fades but nowhere near as much with my old "hacker" clubs. third, the clubs' heavier bottom weight gives me loft on my irons i never had. this has been huge, especially with my longer irons. i have been able to hold the greens with much more consistency because of the height i am able to generate. fourth, my distance has increased by 10 - 15%. fifth, my scores have dropped. the first time i played a round, i shot 92 and did not feel very good about the clubs. however, i hit the driving range and got a better feel (distance) for them and my scores dropped. my last four rounds since the 92 were 83, 82, 86, and, 79 (my first time breaking 80!!!!). i feel much more confident out on the course with these clubs. the only issue i have with the clubs, which can be expected with this type of cavatity back, is that it is very difficult to shape shots. i can draw the ball pretty well but, believe it or not, i have a hard time controlling a fade. i paid $800 (including tax) for the set including a lob wedge and a sand wedge in the same model along with the p - 3. it was a little more than what i had budgeted but do not regret it at all. these are great player improvement clubs and really recommend them for those that are in the 90's or even 80's that want an awsome set of irons with a great feel and are most forgiving.
