Two years ago I returned to the game that I love. I decided this year to get some new irons. After much research, I settled on the TCP irons from Golfsmith. They were built by Mike Dalecki who did a wonderful job. The clubs have the True Temper TTXL shafts, stiff flex. My set includes 3-PW, AW, SW, LW. These clubs are everything that all the other reviewers say. I can hit the 3 and 4 irons with confidence, something I couldn't do with my other set. The wedges took a little getting used to but I am hitting them with confidence as well. The mid/short irons were great from the first hit. It took me 4 rounds to really get transitioned from my old set. The old clubs were too flat. These are 5 degrees more upright and it took a little getting used to. I wouldn't give them up at this point. Thanks Golfsmith for a fine product and thanks to Mike D, the Club Doctor, for building me such a fine set.

Customer Service

Customer service from www.clubdoctor.com was first rate. Mike does all he can to build you the set you want. Even when you're 2500 miles away as I was.

After extensive research, club demos, and consulting a pro, I decided on the TCP's with Rifle Tour Flighted (5.5) shafts 1/2" over. I've had them since February, but due to weather have hit them mostly at the range. I've played 27 holes now, and I love everything about these irons. Appearance: they set-up like blades and alignment is intuitive. Required no "adjustment" time to get used to them. Feel: Not quite as soft as the Nike Tour Combo, but very sweet when well struck. Trajectory: High and straight without ballooning. (Shafts contribute to high ball flight.) Workability: I've had no trouble playing fades or draws. I've heard complaints about a draw bias, but I haven't seen it at all. (I lipped out a cut 162-yard 7 iron that would've been my first ever ace had it gone in. Also, hit a 200-yard 5 iron draw to within 10 feet on another par 3.) Accuracy: Point and shoot. Distance: About the same as other's I've tried. The confidence-factor allows me to step on one when I need to squeeze out 5-10 extra yards. Price: The Nike Tour Combo's are going for 2-3x the price without the benefit of custom fitting. I've hit some great shots, and very few bad shots. I couldn't be happier with my choice.

These clubs are great. I choose these heads because I wanted a club that would offer some shot shaping and some forgivness. With these clubs my skills have improved dramatically (not as forgiving as many huge oversized game-improvement heads). I was shotting in the 100's two years ago, and at the end of last season I was consistently in the 80's. I have dynamic gold R300 shafts in the long irons and s300 in the short. It is a really nice match. Notice that these clubs have minimal offset and blade-like looks, they look really sharp in the bag, but if you are not looking to improve your skills with a more challenging club, this might not be for your. Cheers!

Customer Service

I haven't needed it for these clubs but it is always nice to hear that southern drawl when talking with the folks at Golfsmith!

Did a lot of research to decide which clubhead to build for myself. The reviews and characteristics of this head seemed to offer what I desired. And WOW was I ever pleased with the results. Built the 2-AW with TT dynamic gold lite sensicore.Still getting use to 2-4 irons but rest are simply dynamite.Simply point at pin, swing easy and smile. About 1/2 club longer than my old ping zing 2's. Would recommend to anyone with a 16 or lower handicap.

Customer Service

Never had a problem yet with golfsmith.

I highly reccomend these clubs! I have played with a set of Spalding Tour Edition blades for years and contemplated having them re-chromed but decided to put together a set of these beauties. ( Is it me or do the new Nike clubs look a lot like these Cavity Pros? ). I wanted an iron that still felt as good as the blades I was playing and I found them. I was about a 10 handicap when I put them together and in about 6 months I'm now down to a 6 and still improving. I can finally hit a draw with these clubs ( I have never had a problem hitting a fade ) The PW is great! Just fire at the pin!! I just ordered the SW and can't wait to put that together. If you're looking for a great set of clubs to improve your game or just because get a set of these.

Customer Service

I have never had a problem with Golfsmith.

I buit a set of these clubs last week and played them twice so far. I also hit them on the range Monday and today. These clubs are everything I read about them and more. After some growing pains with how the clubs set up and align,I found these clubs to be a graet feeling ,accurate golf club.I built them with TT Dynamic Gold Lite shafts, swing weight D-3 in 2 to 8 iron D-4 9iron and PW.My b~~~ flight is high and very accurate with the shorter clubs, and medium with the longer irons. These are some of the best feeling clubs I have ever played, even with range b~~~s, the feeling is very soft, with the Pro V1 it's like butter.I have been looking for a set of clubs to replace my Ping Eye 2s,I have found them.A very good club,,kudos to Golfsmith.

Customer Service

I have been buying from Golfsmith for 10 years,,never had a problem that wasn't corrected right away.I will continue to buy from Golfsmith

I recently put the 4-pw together with TTDynamic Gold r 300 shafts swingweighted to D-4 with Lamkin Crossline grips. Extremely nice looking clubs and the reward for a flush hit is a soft, sweet, solid feel. Yes I said flush. These are not as forgiving as large cavity backs and aren't meant to be so they make you work a bit harder at making a good swing. But shouldn't we all do that anyway? Fit and finish of the heads are 1st rate. Distance is the same as my X-12's but less likely to hook due to less offset. Very classic lines. Short irons inspire confidence and are great for various chips and bump and runs around the greens. You can't go wrong with these and think of all the $$$$ you'll save.

These irons are becoming very popular in the central Connecticut area. I had a set made for me last year (2 - PW) and my handicap has dropped quite a bit since then. An advantage to component irons is that they allow - almost force - you to have the clubs custom fit, which makes an enormous difference. I've found that the long irons are as easy to hit as most short irons. Very smooth. The short clubs are deadly. Huge backspin when you want it. Very easy to work the ball. I've completed the set with Snake Eyes wedges, also from Golfsmith.

These are a performance cavity iron. I think your ball striking has to be of a reasonable standard to use these clubs effectively. They have taken a few weeks to settle in for me but I wouldn't change them now. If you want a great looking club that provides very consistent distance, allows you to start working the ball, provides good feedback from the shot and is excellent value then this club is the one. They do however make demands on you as a player, I find them not quite as forgiving as my old oversize set. Dynamic gold S300 shaft + 1". 3 - AW. Many thanks for all the reviews posted I found them most helpful.

Customer Service

Excellent. Good advice provided and the finished article was outstanding.

I am an avid golfer and an equipment junkie. I have played dozens of irons in the last few years as you will note below. The GS TC Pro's have stayed in my "inventory" ever since they were introduced by GS. I have assembled sets with Rifle shafts and currently play a set with DGS300's. The fit, finish, and overall quality is superb. The feel and playability is equally suberb. In my humble opinion, these are one of the finest irons that bridges the gap between deep cavity backs with heavy perimeter weighting and pure blades. The progressive cavities make for easier to hit long and mid irons and the blade-like short irons and wedges are fabulous. They have little offset and easily swingweight with standard specs in the D2 range. If you like them a bit heavier GS provides the hosel weight port that makes adding weight a cinch. Of the many, many irons I have played over the last few years the GS Pro Forged, Tour Cavity Forged and Tour Cavity Pro are all in the top 10. Give the TC Pro's a try if you want the best value in an iron with absolutely no compromise in quality and playability.

Customer Service

Not always the best but they usually manage to get it done.
