I've been playing with my VHL's for over 10 years. I've tried other clubs to upgrade however havn'e yet found a club I prefer. I like the look at address and the ability to fade adn draw the ball. Distance is consistent and accurately graduated from club to club. Before purchase I tried Ping eye 2, they felt soapy and I didnt like the bulk, I cant work the ball with Callaways and Titleist DC2's feel like my old Cobra blades. I'm trying Hogans tomorrow nad will return with a comparison. I love my VHL's, they're now cheap adn excellent value. Probably underpriced because there is no multimillion dollar advertising program to build a profile.

Hey everybody, i know the last review was in 2001 but i just want to say that i still have Maxfli VHL (for 7 years now). and these are the best clubs I've ever had. i Tried others but it wasn't the same. I've reached a handicap of 16 (from 36) in 2,5 years with these clubs!

I used these clubs for 3 years and eventually graduated to Taylor Made LCG's and now Ping I/3 Blades. Good set of clubs, and I am sure you can pick them up pretty cheaply now. Definitely better than the knock off brands out there, but definitely noticed a performance difference when I moved to the LCG's and now absolutely love my Pings, but it is all in what level you are looking to play. Worth considering, though I couldn't go back to them for the feel and accuracy I would lose from my I/3's.

I love my Maxfli VHLs. Ive had em for 2 years now and I cant see trading them in for a long time. I rented taylor made bubbles when i was on vacation and i hated them. I was so happy to get home to use my maxflis. I dont care if they are not the most popular at the course I dont golf to look cool like so many others do.

These clubs are great for my game. They give excellent feel and great accuracy. My game has significantly improved since I bought them two years ago.

I bought a set of VHL irons a couple of years ago. My old clubs were older than dirt and my handicap had become stale. But after I started using the VHL my handicap has dropped down significantly, from 28 to 10 in two years, and continues to drop every month. Although the clubs aren't entirely to be thaked for that, they play without a doubt a big role.

Actually, I'm not scratch. Play off a 3 handicap. Recently picked up a set of graphite shafted orginal VHLs for a good price off the internet. Very decent clubs, but traditional size heads might scare high handicappers. Nice high ball flight. Great value for the money if you are a better player (I'd say 15 handicap or better), with the medium flex shafts (in between regular and stiff). That is, if you can still find a set. They aren't made anymore. I'm just not wild about the graphite feel, so I may be selling them and go back to my old forged Rams. (E mail if interested, price will be right). The lack of feedback is probably great for most players, just high and straight shots, but I need a little bit more feel to keep my ballstriking sharp.

I purchased these clubs about 2 years ago and feel very good about having a decent set of irons to play with at a low initial cost. The irons are very comfortable and provide a great high shot. I have tried other irons and shafts but the VHL's are the easiest to use that I have found. The smaller head size has not detracted from the clubs in the least.
