Went from playing the Mizuno beginners set 'widec2' to the mx20 with steel shafts this spring. After a month of getting-to-know-each-other, these clubs are fantastic! The response I get from the club is terrific, as is the posibility to shape shots. So even for me, a hcp 16 player, it's now possible to high fades or low hooks ON PURPOSE when needed. Length increase is significant as well: about 10%. 9 iron went from 120 meters to 130m and the 3i 185m to 200m.

Great club for 18-10 hcp-ers. Tested Taylormade lt2 en titleist mid-hcp (7/804??) as well. For me> the mx-20 hands down! I am playing better en more consistant than even before. My lowest round is now 81, down from 86, which is now about average.

Got the MX-20's about 3 weeks ago. I had been playing Callaway Big Bertha's. Huge difference. The Mizuno's tell you exactly where on the face you hit the ball. I can tell before looking at the face if I hit it towards the toe or heel (by as little as 1/4"). The ball still flys true, it just does not have that sweet "I did not feel anything" feel that others have described as "butter". I hit them about the same yardage as the other clubs, but I believe I am more consistent with the distance. Today I hit 3 seven iron shots into a green and they were all within 5 feet of each other. I could never do that with the Callaway BB's. I was concerned about the steel shafts (I had been playing graphite for the last 10 years), but these feel very soft. I am a 5 handicap, very happy with the clubs, and would recommend them to anyone 15 handicap or less. I bought them on EBay for $180. If I can master these, my next try will be the MP 32's.

Great great clubs. Find some second hand, instead of the mx23s, the mx20s are slightly narrower at the top, and have much beter styling. Thye are more players clubs than the mx23's, but still have a great forgiveness about them.

The quality of the forgings are excellent, and with all good forged clubs you know exactly where you've hit the ball. The hard feeling in the hands when you hit off centre soon gets you grooving your swing to get the butter like feel of the sweet spot. When i first got them I was shooting in the low 90s, high 80s so I would say they are for anyone who has played the game some and has the start of a good swing.

I have them with dynamic gold lite reg shafts, I find them very high in flight, extremely easy to work the ball all ways, and due to the shot height they land softly and stop quickly. Exactly what i'm looking for on hard UK greens. Also, make sure you clean them regularly, with an oil cloth about once a month, use head covers, they they'll stay like new for years on end! I bought mine second hand, for about £220 a year ago. They are definitely worth the trouble of looking after too.

Customer Service

Not had to use it yet, but if the quality of the clubs is anything to go by it'll be first class.

I have been using the MX-20's for almost a year now and I can honestly say they are the best irons for me.

Pure shots feel like butter and when you miss the sweet spot you can feel it immediately. Your misses still go near where you intended.
I normally play a high draw, but you can keep them low when needed.

I am considering buying another set the MX-20's for when my current set wears out.

The other day six feet ahead of me was a tree. The green was about 190 yards away. I took the 4 iron and shaped a draw. I lost the ball in flight because of the tree barred my view, so I kept looking at the green. And sure enough, a moment later the ball landed on the green. That's how you can work with the mx-20 (So you wonder why I shoot in the 90's? Yeah, me too). On good shots I hit the 3 iron 230 yards, so there's good distance in the clubs. The feeling is butter soft. I don't ever want to go back to cast iron, there's no life in those sticks. These mx-20 clubs get the best out of me. They are forgiving but let you know when you did something wrong. I really love these babes. Paid 400 euro's new.

I forgot how great the feel of forged irons could be. After starting with Wilson Staffs then playing Ping ISI's and Titleist 990, the feel of forged clubs was great. Eventhough everybody says the Mizuno's are de-lofted for extra distance, my 990's are just as long. The 20's are much more forgiving, off center, thick and thin shots are still relatively accurate. I think these clubs are good for all skill levels, even low handicaps. Shot shaping, distance control, and feeback are all attributes better players desire, as well as forgiveness for less skilled players.

I usually play Mizuno True blade irons and wanted to try a cavity backed forged product. I use the MX-20 when I cannot play on a weekly basis. The MX-20's are a very good substitute for blades if you want a more forgiving but very playable club. The Dynalite Gold S-300 shafts combined with the MX-20 iron heads produce very high trajectory shots -- very different from the boring trajectory I get with Dynamic Gold S-300 shafts in my Mizuno True blades. There is a big difference in the MX-20's head size compared to the Mizuno True blades, but the MX-20's do not look overly large or bulky at address. Based on the specs, the MX-20's are closer to Mizuno blade specs than the newer MX-23's, especially in terms of offset. The feel of the MX-20's is just as good as the Mizuno True blades on center shots. Despite being cavity backed, you still have enough feedback on off center strikes so you know how you are hitting the ball. I have not noticed a significant distance change in the clubs compared to my blades, even though the MX-20's are stronger lofts. I think the higher trajectory of the Dynalite Gold shaft cancels out the distance you get from the stronger lofts. I bought these on Ebay for $300 in like new condition and am very satisfied.

After playing with my Palmer PHD iron set for 4 years I was getting bored with my clubs. I wanted something more exciting and easier to hit with. I found this website and started to read the reviews. I like what people have written about the Comp EZ, MX-20 and the MX-23. Since these clubs are forged and wear out fast, it is hard to find a good condition set of Comp EZ on Ebay. There was one near new Comp EZ set but some dude bid to $340 so I backed off. MX-23 prices was a little out of my range, about 400-550 for near new or new set. Then I found this MX-20 set, 9/10 rating, I bid and won at $300. I was really excited after receiving the set. I went to the driving range immediately after work. Oh my god, the FEEL is awesome. So soft, like BUTTER, really. Now I know what you have been talking about. Making perfect contact and it is better than sex. Off center and the ball will travel 80-90% of the distance but still straight. Now I can hit my 4 and 3 iron. Mizuno Engineers are really smart that they design the MX-20 iron heads differently from PW to 3-iron. The PW has the T-Zoid bar weight concentrated near the center of gravity. Going toward the 3-iron, the weight of the T-zoid bar is more spread out making them more forgiving easier to hit. The change is gradual, with the PW and 3-iron at opposite ends of the spectrum. The 3-iron is really easy to hit. I get about half a club longer than my Palmer PHD set, however, the trajectory is somewhat lower. I think it is the result of modern clubs juiced to make you think you hit the ball farther. Here is an example: My old Palmer PHD set(which have standard traditional loft), PW 47 degree, 9-iron 43 degree. The new MX-20, PW 46 degree, 9-iron 41 degree. You know what I mean? I recommend this MX-20 set. If you decide to buy it from Ebay, remember to bid on sets with good condition. 8 rating or better. And you should only bid when there are pictures showing the face of the clubs clearly that there is no major wear because forged irons wear out real easy. Watch out that some seller only show the face of the rarely hit 3-iron when the PW face is all messed up. Also some only show the back of the club head which always look new but don’t really tell you anything. Don’t pay more than $300 for a 9 rating. No more than $250 for an 8 rating. Don’t even thing about getting a 7 rating. Remember, rating is subjective. Likes: Easy to hit, FEEL is awesome, straight, look nice in the bag. Dislikes: I think this iron set can only be played for 3-4 seasons before you have to get a new set. Forged irons are really SOFT. A cast iron set can be played for more than 10 seasons.

These are very nice irons. I tried them today at Golftown and was very impressed with the feel. I did a comparisson with TA7 Tours and RAC LT's. I enjoyed the contact of the Mizunos the best of the three. The distance was comparable between all three, but the consitency was best with the RAC's and the Mizunos, and the Mizuno's gave the most feedback. While my game is steadily improving (I am actually in the 80's more oten than not now), I have trouble with my irons because my natural shot is a draw, and my current irons have a lot of offset. I still need the help of cavity backs to get the ball up, but I need as little offset as possible. I am also developing enough of a swing now to start trying to work my shots, which is not easy with my CXI's. The MX-20's seem to offer much more potential for this. These seem like a marriage of the benefits of both blade and cavity back irons. If you have a reasonably smoothe and repeatable swing you should really enjoy these. I think I will check ebay as they are still quite expensive at Golftwon, even on clearance.

Absolutely the best allround irons you can get. Have forged head but with a cavity back. Can do anything a blade can do but with the forgiveness of a game improver. I know single figure blade users that rate these above their own mizuno blades. Don't listen to all the techno babble from other clubmakers, forged beats cast every time, in every department. Feel is absolutely pure with a fantastic ball flight. Can work these any which way and the consistent solid impact from the huge sweetspot is second to none. These are the best irons ever made, without doubt. Also look great, both in the bag and at address. No offset with a thin top line but fairly large head. Not chunky like callaways etc. Alos a great price on a new set as the MX23 is replacing this line, although I've heard the MX23 are more towards game improvement and not as precise as these. Anyone who buys American brands ahead of these is insane.
