I only started playing Golf back in 1993 when a guy name Jack Sparks who own a Jewellery store in my building asked me if I played Golf. I told him my Dad was a professional football player and he did not like the game so we never played. Jack played in the Senior PGA tour for awhile and took me under his wing. Played at least 3 to 4 rounds a week and hit over 2000 balls at the driving range. I was planning on buying King Corbra, Ping, etc but when I went in to buy new clubs I tried them all and at the end of the day I choose the Mizuno TC 29 stiff shaft graphite. I keep telling my son, I need new clubs because of the advancement in technology but yesterday I shot a 4 under par round. These club have been great from the get go. I only thing I have changed are my wedges to the new Mizuno and my drivers are all Nike Sumo 5000 stiff shaft which I hit well over 300 yards. I love my Mizuno along with my Nike Driver!

Model Reviewed: TC-29 Mid Sized

I've been playing these irons since they first came out and have done well with them. Like most everyone else, I keep looking for ways to improve my game including the possible purchase of new equipment including irons. I've gone the fitted route but can't for the life of me find a set of irons that I hit better than my graphite shafted TC-29 Mid-Sized. The ball seems to jump off these clubs and flies straight and true. It is relatively easy to work these clubs as weel. I can't buy into the claim that technology today is so much better than it was when these clubs were introduced and I'm not going to part with my money for a new and as yet unproven product. These clubs have and will continue to stand the test of time.

Well I am a very original human being. If you tell me to go left I automatically go right. All the blessing in life I ever received was from original thinking. In a game that is suppose to be a individual sport but is cloned with golfers that all play and look alike a regurgitate the same BS quoted on the golf channel. I decided to be unique and fine a one iron and start hitting it instead of a driver for accuracy and lower scoring. I purchase a TC 29 1 iron. Lord have mercy, I have not hit a bad shot yet. This club is heavenly. If you can get a whole set buy them NOW. If you can get the 15 degree one iron with it learn how to hit it and lower scores. God Bless

The dirt. That is where the game is learned. If the clubs break fix it and quit wining. Nothing is forever.

I play a lot of Golf, and love trading clubs with other golfers. I recently took in a set of of Tommy Armour 845's on trade. I've been struggling with game shooting mid 90's. So I said what the heck and took the Armour's out with me yesterday - shooting a 87 from the tips on a tough course here in Colorado. I was totally impressed - in was like throwing darts - all 4 par 3's are over 200 yds and was on the green on all 4 of them!! I've been going back and forth between Ping G5's, Cobra SS-I's and Callaway X-16's. I'm actually having new grips put on the Armour's today, they still had the originals on them. I can now see why the Armour 845's were made for so many years. I'm impressed!!!

These clubs are great, despite their age. I have searched for many months for the 'right' irons for me. I've tried Ping Eye 2, Taylormade 320, Tommy Armour 845s and many other, but the Mizuno clubs are by far the best of the lot. The problem I was finding with Mizuno is that I wanted a forgiving club that was not forged, but a lot of the Mizuno models are either forged or oversized monsters that are just too big and clunky. I did buy the MX-19s on ebay at a great price, but I was somewhat dissastified with the club head size, which seemed too big. Also, with MX-19s with the Dynalite shafts seem to hot the ball too high. So, for kicks I was browsing ebay again and saw a set of the TC-29's. Now, by my mistake I thought they were the mid-Size model, so I placed a bid. I actually won the auction unexpectedly, so I said what the heck, I'll try the TC-29 mid-size. Well, when they came I was shocked that they were not the mid-size model. I did, however, notice immediately that the clubs were high quality and I really liked the look and feel. I did some swings in my house and I could tell right away that these felt better to swing than my new MX-19s. So, on league night I brought the TC-19 7 iron and PW for fun and I hit a few great shots with both clubs. I then played 18 with the set and was hitting these 10+ year old irons better than my new ones. After a long, long search I have decided to give the TC-29's a try. I really like the minimalistic look of these clubs and the club head size is perfect. They are very forgiving but also give you great feel when you hot a solid shot. The TC-29's remind me a lot of the Tommy Armour 845's, but to me they seem more solid. I have them with TT Dynamic Golf S300U shatfs and the ball flight is great. I am not looking for a TC-29 sand wedge for my set, which is 4-PW. I may also search ebay for set of TC-29's in graphite stiff shaft. These are a great set of irons - don't pass them by for a more expensive set of new Mizunos.

These clubs are great. They are cheap, forgiving and workable. I just started using these irons and am very impressed. These irons are now an older model of MIzuno but are good enough to still use. These are a mid handicap irons because they are a cavity blade. VERY FORGIVING!
