Ping Rapture Irons

Ping Rapture Irons

DESCRIPTION

The wide-soled, perimeter weighted
Rapture Iron relies on strategic use of titanium, steel and tungsten to create a high-performance, multi-material iron. Careful analysis and application of each material yields forgiveness and trajectory improvements while creating a face and cavity design that produces a solid, pleasing feel and sound.

Well, I am, or have been a confirmed club junkie. I picked up a set of Rapture irons, 4-PW with stock R flex steel, in great shape for $400... a steal. From the first bucket, I was a bit shocked... they feel and hit like no other irons I have owned, and I have owned or tried an embarassingly hugh number of iron sets.

The feel is amazing. I have tried several sets of Ti faced irons, they always felt a little harsh to me... the Raptures have an incredible soft, solid feel, even hitting range balls. They do launch a bit high, but with that and the noticeable extra distance, that is a very good thing.

The next part of the surprise was the accuracy and straightness of the rapture irons. Not just straight, but like laser beams. Wild. I also felt that the swingweight was heavier than other sets of Pings, old and new, even though the web page says the irons are C8, at least the long and mid irons. have not had them checked, but these feel a little heavier. Maybe it is just the great balance that these sticks have.

The ball explodes off the face, in a somewhat muted, very solid way. I have been measured for green dot, but these black dots work just fine. I wish I had the SW.

I really think the long hunt for the magic sticks is over. If you get a chance, try these irons. They are usually spendy, but for 10 years use, why not live a little? I hope you guys all find your perfect set. I think I have mine.

Customer Service

The best.

Everything, almost. Really. If on a tight budget, check out the G5 clones at Kentsports.com. Many folks dis the clones, I do not, these are a quality head by a great company (Alpha Reaction drivers and irons made by them too). However, I will NOT give up the Raptures, they are just in a whole different galaxy.

When it was time to replace my ISIs, I compared the Rapture with the G10.

With the Raptures, I hit the ball higher and longer by 5-10 yards. I bought SW-UW-6 ions soft graphit set late last season.

The soft graphits are too light. I have added many lead taps. I can stop the ball a lot quicker (not sure if that is because of the higher ball flight or the new groove or a combination). In addition, I now hit the ball a lot straighter instaed of a draw.

The Raptures cost more than the G10. This is my thrid set of Ping irons. I like these the best by far.

My hitting greens in regulations has jumped due to these irons. My length with my old Mizuno set was the same as the Rapture but the Rapture irons are straighter. I would miss left and right but usually pin high with the Mizuno set. Now I hit greens with less margin of error left and right. I did not change my grip, stance, nor did I take a lesson when I made the switch. i moved from mid-low 80's to high 70's on average score. I will stay with these clubs for a long time. BE SURE TO HAVE A PING REP FIT YOU INTO THESE IRONS.

I purchased a set of Ping Raptures. Driver, 3-Wood, 21* Hybrid, 3-SW. One thing that surprised me with the Rapture is the excellent feel. On miss hits I know where the ball hit the club face. Off the toe, you'll feel it, on the heal you'll feel it. On the money, you'll know it! My previous clubs were Ping Zing. I am getting a tremendous amount of spin with my 9 iron, pitching wedge, and sand wedge. I have never spun the ball, like I have with these. I have hit some sand wedge shots that have sucked back 15 to 20 feet. My 3 iron game has improved with the Rapture. The bigger head gives me a little more confidence and is easy to swing. Although my Hybrid is taking over in that department. Overall the irons are a very solid, and responsive feeling clubs. I would recommend getting fitted since your shelling out some serious dough. The Rapture driver is the best driver I've ever hit. It took some time to get used to the weighting of the club, but now its my favorite club in the bag. I recommend the VS Proto shaft over the TFC. Absolutely no complaints on my 3-wood either. This is a great set of clubs for any golfer.

I needed a set of clubs which are 1.Durable and last a long time.
2.Custom fitting
3.Forgiving for an amateur golfer.

I selected and got fitted a set of Rapture irons (4-PW) because it has a Ping quality, the classic looks and also the latest technology.

I'm enjoying golf more and more even though I'm not practicing often and only play one round per week. Every club are long, accurate and forgiving.

I've added a Ping Hybrid, AW and SW to my set. They will be with me for many more years.

these are the very easy clubs to hit. they have a very high launch angle. however, with a high launch angle you will suffer some distance. so i sent them back to ping and they delofted the clubs. these clubs almost go as far as my prior set

My wife surprised me by letting me get new clubs a couple months ago and I decided to go with the raptures. These are awesome. Some complain about them being clunky but size-wise, they are almost identical to the new g10 irons. The titanium face feels like butter and I am crushing these (200 yard 5 iron). The only complaint is the price. I was custom fit for these (there is no other way with PING).

I just recently got back into the game after about a 10 year "Hiatus". I bought a used set of callways to get the feeling back before I splurged on new clubs. I went to Nevada Bob's for a new set with the intention of buying a set of ping g-5's. I played a round with my cousin who owns a set and they felt good to me. I let the salesman talk me into hitting a rapture 6 iron and I am a believer! If you hit it right, it's the best feeling club you will ever hit. They are on the pricier side, but I do believe they are worth every penny! Highly recommended if you want a great feeling club, one't that easier to hit, and want something to show off at the course.

I have played with my ISI irons for over six years. Time to look for a new set. I compared side by side the Repture with the G10. Both are good clubs. The Repture feels more solid and ball flys higher. They are both forgiving. Repture gets 4-8 yards more which is nice but not important. They are both accurate.

Ping irons are the best in the market - second to none. When it is time to buy, always buy the one that you like best. Never count the price. Second best equipment is not good enough when you are playing on the course. As an investment, the right decision will last you many years to come.

Customer Service

I went through the custom fitting. I was hitting dead on with the black dot although I was measured a blue dot (1* upright). I think that is due to the way I address the ball and my swing. I played the black dot with the ISI. The custom fit is highly recommended.
