Ping ZING Irons

DESCRIPTION

Initially offered in 1991, the Ping ZING Irons were Ping's most dramatically perimeter weighted iron ever. They feature an extreamly wide top line and bold toe weighting.

I've been a 90's shooter for years now. I've owned Ping Eye 2's, ISI's as well as several Callawy and knockoff brand irons. Took my Ping Zing irons (bought from E-bay - $200 for 2-SW) to the course today and shot 88. Would've shot low 80's if my putter had been tuned in today. The Zings are by far the easiest Ping clubs to hit consistently well for the weekend golfer. I'd recommend these to anyone struggling with their game.

Bought my Ping Zings new in '94.
At that time I was committed to playing better (instead of buying the cheapest clubs possible!) and spent $800 on them.

Got me consistently into the mid 70's. Very easy to hit, very straight (even to the point of being hard to work) and a huge sweet spot. Hit it badly and still wind up in decent shape. They'll save you shots.

I bought a used set of Ping Zings when I was 13 (1998) and haven't ever thought about getting new irons. I set the course record at my home Club at age 17 and I believe a huge part of that 66 was the irons. These clubs are forgiving, workable, and are the most solid irons I've ever played. If you're looking for a solid club, look for a set of Zings! You'll be pleasantly surprised!

When I was 11 years old, I played in the match-play tourney at my local golf course (w/ these clubs), and shot a 39. I hit a flushed six-iron within five feet, not to mention multiple nuked short irons which ended up as birdie putts.

These are good irons. Unlike any other Ping iron(including the i5, i3, and i2), these are easy to line-up. The bad part: they aren't quite as long as some of today's irons, and they really aren't that forgiving. I, other than that one day in which I shot a 39, always used to hit the clubs awfully low; however, that was probably because, at the time, I didn't have a great swing speed.

I guess these are good for any golfer . . . I don't know though. Easy to line-up, not as forgiving, not quite as long. Decent irons though.

I have a 1 iron that I would not trade for any club. I use it as a driving iron and it will go 260+ easy. even when i hit is bad, like off the toe, the ball is in play and still fairly long.

IMHO the best irons Ping has ever manufactured. The perimeter weighting which was somewhat extreme for it's day (1991) produces a very straight ball flight, and with the JZ stiff shafts you get a mid-trajectory not too high, not too low. These clubs got a bad rap when they first came out mostly because the original KT-M shafts would occasionaly bend near the hosel and had to be replaced. That happened to me as well, and Karsten re-shafted and re-gripped the entire set for free. The only thing I had to pay was shipping. I've used Ping Eye 2 irons, and while I think the Eye 2's are fabulous clubs, I think these are even better. If you are a single handicap player you can work a draw or fade with these, perhaps not as severely as you could with a set of blades, but the consistency on line and flight with these is worth the marginal trade off on workability. They may not be the sexiest looking clubs on the course but unless you're scratch (and maybe even if you are scratch) they are well worth a look.

Customer Service

The best in the industry without a doubt.

Got these from my step dad and played with them from the very start of my game to this point and I have improved from shooting in the hight 90's to shooting the low 80's occational hight 70's and they have been the best club I have ever used! I have tried to used a couple of diffrent irons my step dads other clubs his Callaway x-16 worked, but I was never able to hit them as well as my Ping Zings! I then tried my uncles Titliest cb90's and they were a hard club to hit, but I didn't play to badly with them, but it was stil back to the Zings! The Zings are I think the best club that has ever been made very forgiving, large sweetspot, price is just right, and they look very nice so you want to play with them! I also like the way that they are weighted its perfect not to heavy like the x-16's were and not to light like the cb90's either! They Best Clubs Ever I highly recomend them no matter the level of you game!

had these clubs for over a year now...reshafted from the start with dynamic golds s-300's.. the original ping shafts were bent at the hosel, as i was told this was a common trait of the ping shafts.these clubs are the best kept secret on the market.huge sweet spot...control and looks at address are outstanding.i bought these clubs off e-bay for $150..total invested was right at $225.will buy some more if these ever wear out..as in all pings ,they come fitted and marked by a colored dot..know which ones to buy by getting advise from a golf club fitter.

I have had my Pings for about a year. My game improved from the low 90's to the low 80's looking to hit the 70's by this summer.

The forgiveness of this club is what makes it the club to own.

I recently purchased a new set of iorns thinking it was me that had improved and I could play with any iorn. Well I just GAVE them away and is now back playing with my zings.

The best investment I made to my golf game. Purchased off of ebay and wouldn't take a thousand dollars for them now. I am enjoying the game of golf on the weekends now and being competative at the same time.

THIS IS THE CLUBS
