no place to put this review...
Original Ram laser "Target Seeking System" irons... picked up for 19.95 in xlnt condition, Ebay. These irons are as good as anything out there, still. Great FM shafts, great balance, feel, accuracy. Somewhat like the Ping Eye2 irons, but better feel and heavier swing weight. Fantastic!!

Bought on ebay one year ago for my wife. The shafts are the green RAM graphite, regular stiffness. They must be ladies clubs as each iron is 3/4 shorter that the corresponding one in my old PAM set. These irons are easy to hit high and straight, just like my old RAM FX Oversize (SS). Produces good results even with toe hits, less forgiving on heel; more distance forgiving than aim. Replaced the gribs with Golf Pride Tour Velvet immediately; stock grips felt flimsy.

I bought a set of these irons off of Ebay. These are the real nickel irons, not the stainless irons that nearly every review in this section is reviewing. I think this is very important because the difference is immense. These irons no longer available at proshops, so they will be hard to find, but as I have shown, they are still available, if your willing to be patient. So why should you waste your time? Well, if your interesting in an extrodinary set of irons at a great price, then it's certainly worth your time. So why are these irons special? Nickel!! Try and find a set a cast irons that are nickel. I've been playing pro-line Spalding stainless steel cast irons for the last 12 years. For 20 years before that I played forged clubs. I hated the small sweet spot on forged clubs, and loved the transfer to cast. Yes, there was a loss of feel, workability, and spin, but so consistant that it wasn't even a comparison. Not even close. These Ram FX Nickels are blades, that hit with the consistancy of cast clubs. All of the sudden the ball is moving again! The ball just dances of these clubs, you'd swear they were blades. But when you hit them off a tee there is NO question that they are cast. The sweet spot is massive with these oversize clubs. I have the graphites, and my old clubs were steel shafts, so the change is dramatic. The clubs are very light, and easy to swing. Are the as easy to hit as some of the Callaway oversized clubs? Probably not. The Callaways have a heavier feel to the head, and aids fat swings getting the ball out. But don't kid yourself, the Callaways hit like cast stainless clubs. I'm not saying these irons are for everyone, but they certainly have a significant spot in iron technology, and it's a total shame their no longer manufactured. Something to think about anyway.

I BOUGHT THESE FROM A FROM A PAWN SHOP IN BREMERTON WA. THE SET WAS BRAND "NEW" (9.5 ON A SCALE OF 1-10))AND INCLUDED PW-3IRONS AND THE 1,3 AND 5 WOODS ALL RAM FX. THE $300.00 MAY SOUND LIKE A LOT BUT WHAT I GOT INCLUDED A FAIRLY NEW CARRY BAG BY SUN MT, A BRAND NEW TAYLOR MADE NUBBINS PUTTER AND A PRO SELECT LOB WEDGE. LIKE MANY PEOPLE LOOKING FOR A NEW SET OF IRONS I WENT TO MY LOCAL PROSHOP/RANGE BORROWED ALL THE BIG NAME #5 IRONS AND HIT A FEW BUCKET OF BALLS TO SEE WHICH ONE I COULD WORK THE BEST. I ALSO WENT TO A DEMO DAY AT A LOCAL GOLF COURSE TO SEE HOW THE CLUBS THERE PLAYED. TO TOP IT ALL OFF I READ AS MANY REVIEWS AS I COULD ON DIFFERENT CLUBS MADE FOR SOMEONE IN MY HADICAP RANGE. I HAD $900.00 SET ASIDE FOR NEW IRONS AND WAS SET TO GO ON SOME TAYLOR MADE'S OR PING OVERSIZE BUT SETTLED ON THE RAMS BECAUSE OF THE PRICE AND BECAUSE I NEEDED A SET OF GAME IMPROVEMENT CLUBS THAT WILL TIE ME OVER UNTIL I CAN GET GOOD ENOUGH TO BUY SOME FORGED BLADES.(IF I EVER GET THAT GOOD ANYWAYS) I'VE USED THE EXTRA CASH FOR LESSONS AND MANY MORE ROUNDS OF GOLF AT OUR LOCAL MUNI. I STARTED WITH A FAIRLY HIGH HANDICAP (24) AND MOVED IT DOWN TO A (14) IN THE TIME THAT I'VED OWN'ED THE RAM FX'S (ABOUT 1 1/2YRS) *SET UP/BALL ADDRESS= VERY EASY TO SET YOUR CLUB UP AS THE TOP LINE ON THESE CLUBS ARE SEMI-THIN. I'VE USED MY BROTHERS TA5'S AND FRIENDS BIG BERTHA'S AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT THE RAM'S ARE MUCH EASIER TO ALIGN TO TARGET.MAYBE IT'S A MENTAL THING FOR ME BUT I LIKE THE THIN TOP LINE BETTER. *FORGIVNESS= STRAIGHT, STRAIGHT, STRAIGHT. THESE CLUBS ARE FOR GAME IMPROVEMENT CLUB WHAT CAN I SAY. YOUR NOT PUNISHED AS BAD AS SOME OTHER BIG NAME CLUBS FOR OFF CENTER SHOT'S AND MIS-HIT'S. THIS WORKS OUT GREAT FOR ME BECUASE SOME DAYS MY SWING IS NOT THERE AND THOSE OCCATIONAL MISS HITS WON'T KEEP ME FROM HATING THIS GAME. I WOULDN'T REALLY CALL THESE CLUBS "OVERSIZED" EITHER. I WOULD SAY THEY ARE ABOUT THE SIZE OF MAYBE THE TAYLOR MADE 320'S. THIS WILL WORK OUT FOR ME IN THE END WHEN I DECIDE IT'S TIME TO GET MORE OF A PLAYERS CLUB. *SHOT MAKING= SHAPING SHOT'S ARE HARD FOR ME TO DO WITH THESE CLUBS. I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S THE OFFSET THAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT OR MAYBE MY SET UP AND SWING. I'VE TRIED IT ALL "WEAK/STRONG" GRIPS. MOVING THE BALL IN AND OUT OF MY STANCE ALSO OPENING AND CLOSING THE FACE OF THE CLUB. THE BALL USUALLY JUST WANT'S TO GO STRAIGHT. AT THIS POINT IN

I HAVE PLAYED THESE IRONS FOR OVER 4 YEARS NOW THESE IRONS HAVE THE STEEL HEADS NOT NICKEL. I PLAY TO A 9-10 HANDICAP. I KNOW YOU WILL THINK I AM CRAZY BUT THESE ARE THE MOST FORGIVING,LONGEST AND EASIEST TO HIT I HAVE EVER PLAYED AND I HAVE TRIED THEM ALL.IN THE LAST 3 YEARS I HAVE BOUGHT AND TRIED OUT ALL THE TOP NAMES{PING EYE2 AND PLUS,TAYLORMADE,CALLAWAY X12AND14,MIZUNO PLUS MANY OTHERS)IN MY 17 YEARS OF GOLFING I OWNED OVER AT LEAST 35 SETS OF IRONS I JUST GET TIRED OF THEM AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ABLE TO REPLACE THEM UNTIL NOW. ANY IDEAS?
