These irons have a very good feel when striking the ball. The ball tends to leap off the clubface. I have picked up 10 to 15 yards with each club compared to my old irons. Miss hits tend to go far and straight also.
Great value for the price!

I'm a true scratch golfer in the sense that I almost never shoot over par and I'm probably the best ballstriker in the state. The pro let me demo a set of the R7 TP irons because he knows I'm the best in the club and values my feedback. These irons feel solid but they aren't good enough for my game. They send the ball too high and the feeling is a bit sloshy. I differ from the general population of golfers in that I have a keen sense for a good feeling club. Suffice to say I'm better than anyone else who's reviewed this club.

These clubs are great. I got these clubs a couple of weeks ago and have played about 5 rounds with them. I'm not saying that I hit it straighter that has not that much to do with the clubs, it's the swing, but they did add distance. With my old irons i hit my 7 iron about 155, now I hit it about 165-170. Great club, very forgiving. I love these clubs and suggest them to anyone looking to upgrade and game improvement clubs.

I bought a set of Taylormade R7 TP irons about a year ago and have been in love with them ever since. Previously, I played an old set of Ping Eye2 irons with Rifle 6.0 shafts (blue dot, upright +2 degrees). I purchased the R7 TP irons after trying them out at several golf shops. Let me just say - these irons rock!! It took me about 5-6 rounds to get used to them, but now I am dialed in. These irons work magic around the greens - especially for bump-and-run shots. You feel very confident at address. And as for mis-hits? No need to worry - these irons are VERY forgiving! The best part about these irons is the spin you can generate on full shots onto greens. The R7 tour irons launch the ball high and stop the ball on the green perfectly. The Dynamic Gold S300 is a great choice for a shaft. I highly recommend these irons for a 0-14 handicapper. You won't be disappointed.

Playing in high school, i decided to upgrade to a new set of irons. the Taylormade r7 TP irons by far were the best i hit. usually hit a 3-5 yard draw these irons are workable enough to help me hit more of a fade now yet forgiving enough to not loose a ton of distance on miss hits. the project x 6.5 shafts are on 'em. these clubs aren't meant for everyone. people wanting to break 80 and 70 are recommended to purchase these($350 craigslist or ebay).other reviews here helped me decide to purchase along with hitting on simulator. good luck and good hittin'.

I went and did a impulse buy at Golftown of a set of TM Burner Tour irons. After a couple of rounds, they are just not for me.

I found a used set of R7 TP for a great deal and bought them. wow... I love these irons.

Great feel, great launch, big distance.

Very happy with the DGS300 shafts as well. Good weight for me.

They are, hands down, excellent! I shoot in the low 80's - that's soon to change.

They have the Mizuno feel when struck right and will let you know when you don't.

Recommend the stock T-step 90 shaft!

STOP. Read this and then plan to find and buy these clubs!

Yes, it’s the Indian and not the arrow but man these are NICE arrows!

I shoot from the high 70’s to the mid-80’s. This have a CONSISTENT ball flight, they’re CRISP time after time, and they give the secret to successful golf which is CONFIDENCE to hit the right distance w/the right club.

We have a par 4 over water at my home course. On your second shot you’ll need (depending on wind) 150 to 170 yards to a sloped green. I don’t worry about the water anymore (of which I’ve donated countless golf balls). I know focus how close I can get w/my R7 TP irons.

Dynamic Gold S300 shaft, great.

Bent standard. I’m 5’10” and standard length is spot on.

These are great looking, great playing, go to golf clubs.

If your searching for some new irons, definitley stop and look at the R7 TP's I find these irons to be fantastic it took me 5 or so rounds but now they completely suit me, my handicap is tumbling down, I was struggling at 11 - 12 after 2 months I'm down to 9. Very accurate and great feel especially combined with pro V1X Titleist ball.
I tried several types of irons Mizuno, cleveland and Titleist but I'm glad I picked R7's.

I tested out a number of mizuno sets of irons over the past season with a ton of different shaft options (rifle 6.0, 6.5, Project X 6.0, 6.5, DGX100) and purchased the R7tp's after using them as a demo set on a whim with standard DGS-300. Magic! Simply put, a standard set of these with Dynamic Gold S300's will take most players further than you've ever gone before. There is a feeling of slightly less workability and forged feel than with many of the other better players clubs, however, it's an extremely controlled workability. I was able to ***consistently*** control my trajectories much better with this head/shaft combo than any of the others, lo-hi, knockdowns, cut, etc... The R7tp's have a crisp cavity back feel similar to the old Titleist DCI 962 black diamonds. The R7tp's are super accurate irons, I've never had as many shots finish dead on, pin high. There is a very slight off-set in the 3 and 4 irons, no issues. The overall trajectory is nice and low with a blazing amount of spin. Balls stop on a dime. Wedge, 9, 8 are very easy to spin back if needed. I found the trajectory and ballflight to be extremely consistent accross the entire set, I'm hitting a lot more greens in reg. Also..the grind on these irons is absolutely perfect. There is a slightly rounded leading edge which effortlessly glides through the grass compared to many other iron sets I've played. TaylorMade definitely got this part right. The grind on these irons has improved my short game chipping..I holed out twice with a PW in my last round, this had a lot to do with the nice smooth grind on these irons. Keep in mind these come standard from the factory at 1-degree flat. They didn't play right at all until I had the lies adjusted properly. I'm 5'11 and have them set to approx 1-degree up. Best set of irons I've ever played in my life. If you can't play these well for whatever reason, take some lessons. It's you not the clubs. The clubs are perfect.
